Celebrating Frankston City’s heritage Frankston is celebrating its history over the weekend of 3–4 September 2016 which coincides with the 50 year anniversary of Frankston being declared a city (24 August 1966). The heritage celebration follows last year’s successful History Day with more than 300 people attending the history event. This year the event will cover Frankston’s history from 1919 to 1966 and will

feature photographic displays, memorabilia and a short film produced for the event. A number of local identities will also share their stories from the ‘good old days’ and you will have opportunity to ask questions and share memories about Frankston’s past. The day will provide an opportunity to understand the place where you live, how it has developed over time and meet others in the community.
