EDITOR’S NOTE

Swimming in Gratitude

Boy was I grateful to be able to swim and smile in one of the spectacular pools at Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale recently. This is because, quite frankly, it has been a hell of a year. Both of my parents died within months of each other. My 12-year-old was getting bullied at school. And 30-years and millions of miles of cumulative jet lag had caught up with me.

Now, I bet you are asking yourselves, “Why is this guy who always seems to be popping his head out of pools and hot tubs in luxury locations all over the world sharing the hurt and weariness he felt earlier this year?”

Well, the answer is simple. Because I know that I’m not the only one who’s had a hard year. In fact, I know from speaking to friends and colleagues all over the world, (and seeing the news, of course) that we’ve all had a hard year in one way or another. The circumstances may be diferent, (in most cases way, way worse), but the feelings are the same.

And being reminded that we’re all in this together is one of the many reasons why I was so grateful to be able to pop my head out of the Pier Sixty-Six pool recently. Better still, my recent visit to Pier Sixty-Six, and countless other exclusive destinations all over the world not only reminds me how lucky I am to experience the restorative power of travel. It reminds me of my responsibility to encourage you all to do the same. Take time of. Unplug. Go swimming with your kids in a pool on a Wednesday afernoon. Buy the boat. Take the trip. {Denison Yachting, Aston Martin and Bannenberg & Rowell unveil a one-of-a-kind car collaboration.

words BILL SPRINGER
photography COURTESY OF ASTON MARTIN

Aston Martin Fort Lauderdale, in collaboration with Denison Yachting and legendary yacht designers Bannenberg & Rowell Design have just unveiled a new bespoke series. Above & Beyond captures the spirit of the ocean through the elegance of Aston Martin design, with two, oneof-one commissions of the agship V12 Vanquish, with a Coupe named Above and a Volante named Beyond.

Conceived as a seamless link between land and sea, Above & Beyond draws direct inspiration from the two forthcoming yachts of the same names, currently being designed by Bannenberg & Rowell in collaboration with Alex G. Clarke of

Denison Yachting for Turquoise Yachts. Named Above & Beyond, the pair symbolizes a journey without limits an ethos that is reinterpreted in every detail of these two Vanquish sports cars, from their crafsmanship to their fnish.

Both the Vanquish Coupe and Vanquish Volante exteriors are finished in Lightning Silver, a color chosen for its subtle blue refection in direct sunlight, and a nod to the shimmering metallic refections seen on yacht hulls. The lower body is defned by gloss blue-tinted carbon fber, split by a bespoke Lightning Silver pinstripe that emulates the “boot-stripes” of a yacht’s hull. Further marine cues include a subtle graphic on the mirror caps; the driver-side mirror features a red stripe while the passenger-side mirror’s is green, in reference to port and starboard navigation lights. Exclusive chrome side strakes with gloss black V12 badging, Scintilla Silver thermos louvres, and meticulously integrated fender inflls reinforce the purity of the exterior lines while amplifying the vehicles’ presence

in the same way that polished deck hardware enhances the profle of a yacht.

Inside, the cabins evoke the openness and flow of life on the water.

Glacier White leather is paired with V-shaped quilting, which extends across the doors and center armrest, a detail reminiscent of bespoke yacht upholstery. Pattern stitching, inspired by the bow waves formed at speed, flows across the seating surfaces, while satin and gloss blue-tinted carbon fiber trim evokes lightness and echoes the layered contrasts of contemporary yacht interiors. Bespoke

sill plaques, adorned with the partner logos, confirm each car’s unique provenance.

This collection builds on a four-year relationship between Denison Yachting and Holman Motorcars, which has seen Aston Martin Fort Lauderdale and its yachting partners create a series of memorable showcases at the world’s largest in-water event. Recognizing the natural connection between Aston Martin owners and yacht enthusiasts, the partners pursued their frst co-curated, yacht-inspired capsule collection brought to life with the artistry of Q by Aston Martin and Bannenberg & Rowell.

Vittorio Gabba, Aston Martin’s Commercial Head of Q Operations, said: “Above & Beyond embodies more than bespoke design; it’s a celebration of lifestyle. These two Vanquishes represent the perfect union of Aston Martin’s

automotive mastery and the timeless elegance of yacht design, and what better place to unveil them than in Fort Lauderdale, the yachting capital of the world.”

Jennifer Welker Peacock, Head of Global Partnerships for Denison Yachting, said: “This collaboration is the result of a shared passion for crafsmanship, innovation, and lifestyle. Bringing together Q by Aston Martin, Aston Martin Fort Lauderdale, and Bannenberg & Rowell under one vision refects Denison’s ongoing eforts to push boundaries and create meaningful partnerships within the luxury space. Above & Beyond is truly a celebration of our world on land and sea.”

Each Vanquish in the Above & Beyond collection is a one-of-one commission through the ultraluxury performance brand’s bespoke service Q by Aston Martin ensuring instant collectability.

YOU HAVE TO WIN the watch

{No watch is more exclusive than the one you can’t buy.

As anyone who loves fne timepieces knows, there is no shortage of yacht-themed watches available today. In fact, many well-respected watchmakers can trace their nautical roots back many generations.

But if you’re a serious racing sailor, the watch you really want is not for sale. You have to win it. Because winning a Rolex shows you’ve beaten some the best sailors in the world at one of the world’s most prestigious yacht races like the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup that just fnished on the clear blue waters of Sardinia’s exclusive Costa Smeralda.

In fact, owners of big, fast, powerful, Maxi raceboats have been competing for bragging rights and super rare Rolex watches in Porto Cervo for 35 years. This year’s edition featured particularly ferce competition in the Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship class. In the end, the WallyCento GALATEIA (pictured here), owned by David Leuschen and Chris Flowers, with America's Cup veteran Murray Jones calling tactics, claimed the top prize.

Anyone can buy a watch. But only the best can win one at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.

ROCKSTAR Entrance

{Denison Yachting partners with BLADE helicopters during the Monaco Yacht Show.

When it comes to celebrating the superyacht lifestyle and the legendary trafc that surrounds its events there’s no other destination quite like Monaco. But, let’s face it. Superyachts and trafc no matter how legendary occupy opposite ends of the luxury spectrum. That’s why Denison Yachting has partnered with BLADE helicopters during the Monaco Yacht Show. Transportation by helicopter between the Nice Airport and Monaco turns what can ofentimes be a two-hour automotive endurance test into a scenic, sevenminute fight along the French Riviera.

“Our partnership with Denison Yachting has been an incredible success, especially at the Monaco Yacht Show. By connecting BLADE’s seamless luxury travel to the heart of the

yachting world, we’ve created a distinctive way to enhance the client journey from air to sea,” remarked Jefrey Brenner, VP, Head of Global Partnerships and Activations for BLADE Urban Air Mobility, Inc.

Jennifer Welker Peacock, Head of Global Partnerships for Denison Yachting adds, “Working alongside BLADE allows us to elevate the Monaco Yacht Show experience year afer year. Together, we’re setting a new standard for what it means to arrive in style while delivering the level of service and sophistication our clients expect.”

And, could there a better way to celebrate the superyacht lifestyle than landing in Monaco via helicopter like a rockstar (or potential superyacht owner)? Um, no.

CHEF du jour

{Yacht chef Etienne Racicot serves up culinary excellence at sea and beyond.

PICTURED: Chef Etienne (far left); Duck magret, jus, carrots with honey, ginger, and hazelnuts (top); Seabass, shell ! sh emulsion, crushed courgettes, fennel, and salsa verde (middle); Raspberry pastilla with hibiscus sorbet (bottom).

“When I was six years old, I baked my rst cake,” recalls Chef Etienne Racicot with a

laugh.

“Convinced I could improve upon it, I baked a second cake, this time inventing my own recipe.” That spark of creativity ignited a lifelong passion, and from that day forward, Chef Etienne has been putting his own inventive twist on every dish he encounters.

Now the solo chef aboard the 121-foot motor yacht Amore a sought-after charter yacht navigating the waters of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean Chef Etienne brings ingenuity and playfulness to every meal. The story of his childhood cakes remains a family anecdote, ofen recounted by his mother, who recognized his love for baking and cooking from the very beginning.

Like many culinary artists, Etienne’s career began humbly, washing dishes at the very bottom of the kitchen hierarchy. “Back then, my uniform was a plain blue dishwasher’s smock,” he jokes. “None of the girls would even look my way. I knew immediately that I aspired to earn my chef’s whites.” Ambition propelled him to culinary school, and afterwards to university, where he frst obtained a degree in business and later in project management. His horizons were broadened, but he never strayed far from his frst love: food.

yachtstyle

PICTURED: Crispy Mahi Mahi tacos.

Originally from Ottawa, Canada, forty-six-year-old Etienne chose a career in gastronomy as a ticket to see the world. When not dazzling charter guests aboard Amore , he can be found on the slopes of Courchevel, France, his home. An enthusiastic ski-tourer in winter, he finds as much inspiration in the quiet of the mountains as he does in the rhythm of the sea.

Over 25 years, Chef Etienne’s career has become a culinary voyage, with a résumé reading like a world atlas. He has honed his craf in Michelinstarred restaurants, ski chalets, private villas, and luxury yachts, working in far-fung corners of the globe: Antarctica, Argentina, India, Spain, Russia, Morocco, Bahrain, Greece, France, and the USA, to name just a few. This breadth of experience has made him exceptionally versatile, able to deftly cater to the diverse preferences and dietary requirements of charter guests from kosher and halal to gluten-free, vegan, and lactose-intolerant. Nothing is off the table; every dietary request is met with enthusiasm and expertise.

QUICK FIRE Q&A with Chef Etienne Racicot

FAVORITE TYPE OF CUISINE?

Mediterranean cuisine is always fresh and healthy. Although I grew up surrounded by French-oriented dishes, I find classic French cuisine a bit limiting. Grilled fsh or meat with seasonal vegetables is always a winner. I love wandering through bustling Mediterranean markets, discovering whatever is in season to inspire my menus.

GO -TO SPICES?

Cinnamon, coriander, turmeric, cumin, chilies I’ve learned a lot from Middle Eastern cooking, and those aromatic spices are some of my favorites.

YOUR IDEAL DINNER FOR FRIENDS?

Roast chicken. For me, it’s the ultimate comfort food. It’s simple, soulful, and every bit as satisfying as haute cuisine.

ESSENTIAL TOOLS YOU ALWAYS CARRY?

My knives, of course, and always my sourdough starter. In fact, once while traveling to the USA, airport security confscated my starter! I never travel without it if I can help it. Fortunately for me, that was a clone of my original starter so I still have the 10 + year-old mother lode, which I now keep safe at home with my wife.

MUSIC IN THE GALLEY?

I prefer to focus on the food, so I usually work in quiet. If there is music, it’s classical something to complement the rhythm of preparation.

CREW OR GUESTS IN YOUR GALLEY?

I love it! I’m very social and enjoy talking about food. I’ll ofen invite the guests’ children to come bake cookies with me. It’s the best kind of company.

IF YOU WEREN’T A CHEF, WHAT WOULD YOU BE?

Probably something in finance. But for me, nothing compares to creating and sharing exceptional meals.

TALKING WITHTommy

{Tommy Hilfiger fuses its iconic preppie style and high-tech performance in its new US SailGP team line.

Full disclosure. I’m not a fashion writer. Nor do I play one on TV. However, I am a sailor, (and a pseudo-preppie) who’s old enough to remember when Tommy Hilfiger launched his frst sailing-inspired line in the 1990s. I’m also a longtime yachting journalist who’s watched the SailGP grow from a fedgling sail racing league founded by Oracle’s Larry Ellison and America’s Cup legend Russell Coutts in 2018, into the sexy and competitive sports league that’s comprised

of 12 national teams that race in 12 iconic cities around the world today.

So, when I heard that the Tommy Hilfger brand would be partnering with the US SailGP team, I wanted to learn everything I could about the brand’s sailing roots. Then I spoke with the legendary designer in person. Turns out, he’s as involved and as passionate about sailing and the yachting lifestyle now as he was when he launched his frst sailing line over thirty years ago.

“What inspired you to get involved with the US SailGP team?” I ask.

”Fusing fashion and sport has been an integral part of our brand DNA for 40 years,” Hilfiger says.

“We’re always looking ahead. And that’s why I love what Mike Buckley is doing with the US SailGP Team. It’s modern. It’s basically Formula 1 on the water. And our partnership with the US SailGP Team perfectly refects our shared passion to push boundaries, embrace innovation, and shake up tradition with an unexpected edge.”

Who is Mike Buckley, you ask? Well, he’s the highly competitive, outspoken, and dogged CEO/ Co-Owner and strategist of the current US SailGP team. And, he’s a full-on evangelist when he talks about bringing the excitement and mass market appeal of high-performance sailboat racing to a broader audience. So, I was not surprised when I heard Mike landed a partnership deal with Tommy.

“I’d been trying to get the Tommy Hilfger brand back into sailing since I sent a cold DM to Tommy’s

Instagram account in 2018. Um...he didn’t respond. Then in 2019, I was sitting on my couch watching the Met Gala, when all of a sudden, Tommy and his wife are on the red carpet decked out in red, white, and blue. Then British Formula 1 race car driver Lewis Hamilton came in, all decked out in Tommy Hilfger. I knew it was a sign.

“This collaboration is a dream come true for me and it’s powered by Tommy’s belief that anything is possible if you dream big and never give up. For me, it’s more than a sponsorship it’s a collaboration that refects a shared vision of performance, style, and making an impact.”

The sailor in me says “Amen brother.”

And I gotta admit, the pseudo-preppie in me is digging the Tommy x US SailGP Team capsule collection that just dropped, too. Inspired by the brand’s archives, the collection combines iconic nautical elements with technical features and Tommy Hilfger’s signature red, white, and blue logo. Plus, you couldn’t find more authentic models to introduce the new line than Buckley and his U.S. SailGP teammates pictured here.

Who knows? Maybe I’ll be going to fashion shows next!

Stay tuned.

{Leading Italian universities push the boundaries of sustainable yacht design and naval architecture at the MUVE Design Competition in the Venice Arsenale.

yachtstyle

PICTURED: The strong turnout at the 2025 MUVE Design Competition and compelling results show the future of Italian design is thriving.

The 2025 MUVE Design Competition stood as a testament to the innovative spirit thriving within the academic communities of Italy, bringing together a mix of design, naval architecture, and engineering students from the universities of Trieste, Genoa (La Spezia Campus), and Milan.

This competition, organized under the auspices of the Venice Museums Foundation (Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, MUVE), sought to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas in the world of nautical design and sustainability.

Carlo Nuvolari, renowned naval architect and partner in the Venice-based studio Nuvolari Lenard, as well as Scientific Director of MUVE Yacht Projects, has spearheaded this program since its inception six years ago. He coordinated the evaluation/judging committee comprised of MUVE President Mariacristina Gribaudi, Marco Bognolo, Vice President of Basic Design at Fincantieri, Fabrizio Iarrera, CEO of Silent Yachts, a producer of electric catamarans, and, yours truly.

The competition’s brief was both ambitious and inspiring, with students being asked to reimagine the relationship between water, vessel, and city. Participants were challenged to conceptualize floating spaces, sustainable watercraft, or architectural interventions that could enhance the experience of Venice’s unique maritime environment. Emphasis was placed on ecological responsibility, technical feasibility, and the poetic integration of design within the city’s historical context.

The teams from Trieste, Genoa, and Milan responded with remarkable vigor. Each university brought its own strengths to the competition: Trieste’s strong tradition in naval engineering, Genoa’s legacy as a maritime hub,

and Milan’s reputation for cutting-edge design thinking. Students spent months in interdisciplinary workshops, engaging with local artisans, mentors from the design industry, and representatives of the Venice museums.

From the outset, the projects refected a rich diversity of ideas and approaches. Teams from Trieste introduced prototype vessels powered by renewable energy, including solar-powered gondolas and modular rafts crafed from recycled materials. Genoa’s students, drawing on their city’s seafaring tradition, focused on adaptive foating platforms for public gatherings and cultural events, blending tradition with futuristic aesthetics.

Milan’s teams, renowned for their flair in design and

architecture, proposed innovative solutions for floating pavilions that doubled as research stations and social spaces. Their concepts often emphasized minimalism, multifunctionality, and the use of local Venetian materials adapted for aquatic environments.

Across all submissions, the importance of sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change was paramount. Many projects incorporated living plant systems, waste management innovations, and flexible construction methods that echoed the adaptive spirit of Venice itself.

In May 2025, the culmination of the MUVE Design Competition unfolded in spectacular fashion at the historic Arsenale during the Salone Nautico in Venice. This prestigious boat show, renowned for its celebration of nautical innovation, provided the perfect stage for the unveiling of the students’ work.

The Arsenale's grand halls and open docks were transformed into a dynamic exhibition space, where prototypes, models, and digital presentations stood side by side. Attendees included the Mayor of Venice, renowned designers, museum curators, representatives from the maritime industry, and the general public, all eager to engage with the next generation of creative minds.

The awards ceremony was a highlight, honoring projects that excelled in innovation and feasibility. Among the winners, the Trieste team received recognition for its solar-powered vessel concept, while Genoa’s adaptive event platforms were praised for their versatility and elegance. Milan’s foating pavilion, notable for its blend of research functionality and social engagement, captured the jury’s imagination and took home the grand prize.

Beyond the trophies, the competition forged lasting collaborations and inspiration for the future.

Last September, Peter Quintal and Will Noftsinger, two Fort Lauderdale-based brokers with Denison Yachting, attended the Cannes Yachting Festival with a clear mission: to discover exceptional international yacht builders that lack representation in the Americas.

It was there that Ocean King debuted its striking 132-foot motor yacht, the Doge 400. Afer a thorough tour, Quintal and Nofsinger were lef deeply impressed by the vessel’s bold aesthetics, superb crafsmanship, and robust engineering.

For many, including this writer, the name Ocean King may not be familiar. The Ocean King yacht yard originated from the Adriatic Shipyard a commercial facility founded 35 years ago in Chioggia, Italy, just south of Venice, by twin brothers David and Alberto Ballarin. Specializing in repairs and maintenance of steel commercial vessels up to 100 meters and 5000 GT, Adriatic Shipyard operated primarily as a contractor for the navy and worked extensively on barges, tugboats, supply boats, and other utility vessels.

In 2007, the Ballarin brothers took a bold step beyond commercial shipbuilding with their state-of-the-art facility. Under the Ocean King name, they began subcontracting

for renowned Italian yacht yards, building hulls, decks, and other major components. Soon afer, they launched their own line of yachts, starting with explorer vessels.

David Ballarin recounts the birth of Ocean King’s frst explorer: He and Alberto visited numerous boat shows, searching for a yacht that possessed the strength and character of a true ocean-going tug qualities familiar from their commercial expertise. Their vision was a yacht ofering outstanding safety, minimal maintenance, and was manageable by a small crew, ensuring a lasting investment for owners. This philosophy culminated in the complete rebuild of a commercial tugboat into a high-end expedition yacht, the Ocean King Explorer 130 M/Y Genesia, which earned a prestigious World Superyacht Award for originality and innovation in 2018.

Building on the success with explorer yachts, Ocean King expanded to luxury models, introducing

the Ducale and Doge lines pleasure yachts up to 50 meters, designed with explorer-level engineering at their core. Each Ocean King vessel benefts from the shipyard’s commercial heritage, while also showcasing the artistry and crafsmanship that defne the marque Made in Italy.

“I have a good feeling about Ocean King,” Quintal shares. “It’s a family-owned shipyard, and everyone’s involved.” He is particularly struck that the Ballarin brothers, close to his own age, have spent over three decades serving the Adriatic region with commercial builds. David and Alberto continue to run the shipyard; David’s son Marco is an engineer there, and another son recently graduated from university manages commercial operations. It’s truly a family enterprise.

Ocean King also benefts from its enviable location. Chioggia, ofen called “Little Venice,” is a town with a rich history stretching back to ancient times. Its scenic canals, captivating architecture,

lively markets, and excellent restaurants make it a gem across the lagoon from Venice. Nearby, visitors can enjoy beautiful beaches like Isola Verde and Sottomarina, renowned for its natural reefs frequented by scuba divers and snorkelers. For those willing to venture further, the Dolomites ofer a spectacular drive. In Chioggia, the authentic Italian experience prevails there’s a slower pace and a palpable sense of community. Ocean King refects this authenticity.

“We visited Ocean King and got to know the Ballarin family,” Quintal notes. “We delved into their range of yachts and learned about their lines. It was reassuring to discover they’re a trusted source of metalwork for other yards we know well.” As a result, Quintal and Nofsinger secured

an exclusive dealership and brand management partnership for Denison Yachting with Ocean King throughout the Americas.

While still relatively new to the market, Ocean King has successfully delivered its seventh yacht. Quintal praises the shipyard’s skilled workforce, available build slots, and competitive pricing by gross tonnage. “I have an active client who recently visited the yard and was blown away by the facility, the yachts, and the people,” he adds. In addition to the production lines Explorer, Ducale, and Doge the yard ofers fully custom builds as well.

Ocean King debuted its latest delivered Doge 400 #2, Ocean Angel , at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show.

FEATURED CHARTER YACHT:EROS

EROS is a 121-foot Custom Line charter yacht that delivers style AND unrivaled stability.

Being from Boston has its perks—world class hospitals and universities, trees that change color in the fall, Matt Damon .

But, when the days start to get shorter, colder, and grayer, and hundreds of thousands of students return to clog the streets with U-Haul trucks, I can only think of one thing; escape.

That’s exactly what I was dreaming about when I spoke to captain Stephan De Plessis of the 121-foot Custom Line charter yacht EROS. And afer hearing how he and his crew pamper guests while escaping to all the cool spots in the Caribbean every winter, I was ready to pack my bags; even before I learned just how perfectly suited to chartering in the Caribbean EROS is.

Launched in 2019 and refitted in 2024, EROS combines the Italian style, spaciousness, and comfort that Custom Line yachts are known for with the toys, tenders, and especially the stability that’s essential when chartering in the Caribbean. In fact, captain De Plessis explained EROS ’s ability to eliminate rocking was one of the features that distinguishes EROS from other charter yachts.

“Charter guests really love EROS in the Caribbean because we have massive stabilizer fns, and three sea keepers on

board as well,” he said. “The stability just sets it apart from any other vessel I've been on board.”

This is what I love about talking to charter captains. They know what everything we need to know about their yachts. So, in addition to its world-class stabilizer system, EROS might be one of the biggest, and most comfortable 121-footers you’ll see. It can accommodate up to 10 guests in fve private staterooms. The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck and features its own private ofce and lounge area. The lower deck

{EROS can accommodate up to 10 guests in ve private staterooms.

features four staterooms that are perfectly suited for both families and groups of friends. And the open-plan living spaces are fooded with natural light thanks to large windows throughout the main salon and skylounge.

On deck, EROS guests have lots of space to relax. The sundeck features a hot tub and

bar. The bridge deck dining area is the perfect place to enjoy a long relaxing dinner. And the large beach club is the perfect spot to sunbathe, swim, or launch one of the many water toys that are available.

In fact, EROS offers a large selection of water toys and tenders designed for both

adventure and relaxation. The biggest is their 33-foot Boston Whaler that's ideal for smooth cruising and on-the-water exploration. The fleet also includes two Seadoo waverunners and two Sea Bobs. Inflatable paddle boards and a kayak are available for a more chill, humanpowered alternative. And EROS is also set up to do what may be one of my favorite things to do on a charter explore underwater with a mask, snorkel, and fns and then unwind on the beach with teak chairs, umbrellas, tables, and a gazebo the crew has set up for the ultimate beach escape.

Can you feel the sun on your face and the sand between your toes?

I can! And now I’m imagining what the rest of our perfect charter aboard EROS would be like. I think it’d go something like this.

After an amazingly restorative afternoon spent with cool drinks, great company, and ultracomfortable shade on the beach, we return to the boat to get ready for sunset drinks on the sundeck perhaps? And then we go down to the main deck to enjoy dinner in the salon. After that, there’s

{EROS has killer views out of its large windows and through doors that open out to the aft-deck dining area.

lots we can do. Some might want to chill out, listen to some music and play cribbage in the large main salon. Others may want to take their drinks out to the bridge deck dining area or maybe even look for fsh that might be attracted to the lights under the beach club swim platform.

But I think what I’d really love to do is to watch one of may favorite movies up in the skylounge movie theater. In fact, I think the skylounge might be one of my favorite spots on the boat. Not only does it ofer a large, high-def TV, plush seating, cinematic surround sound, and panoramic views, it's also just the right size to cozy up on the couches with your family and friends to watch a movie. And since it has such killer views out of its large windows and through doors that open out to the af-deck dining area, it's a great place to escape to when you’ve had a bit too much sun and just want to read a book in cool comfortable air conditioning during the day too.

But you don’t have to take my word for it. I’ve seen the guest book and read what people have said afer a charter aboard EROS. Like many things in life it’s the people that really make the diference.

“Dear Captain Stephan and crew,” reads one entry. “Thank you for every effort. Every thoughtfulness. Every extra step you each ofered to make us feel welcome, tended to so we could to sink into every moment and let the cares of the world fade away during our nine-day stay. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and see you next year.”

Another entry reads “Everything from the amazing meals to the epic snorkeling spots, paddle boarding and the best sunsets was perfect. Your warmth, fun energy, and attention to detail made us feel at home. We’ll treasure these memories.”

As temperatures rise, there’s no better way to embrace the season than by diving into the world of superyacht luxury—literally.

Today’s superyacht pools are no longer just a refreshing escape from the sun; they’re feats of design and engineering. Often offering much more than a place to swim, superyacht pools have become statement pieces that define the onboard experience. Here, we spotlight some of the most spectacular examples making waves around the world.

SPARTA

The 220-foot Sparta, built by Heesen Yachts and styled by Winch Design, delivers not one but three distinctive pool experiences. A sleek, 21foot infnity pool graces the main deck, seamlessly blending into the surrounding lounge. Up on the sun deck, a whirlpool invites relaxed socializing, while down below, a Japanese-inspired spa features a wooden hot tub.

KISMET

Opulence is the defning theme aboard the 400foot Kismet, built by Lürssen Yachts and designed by Nuvolari Lenard with interiors by Reymond Langton Design. A trio of pools crown its wellness and entertainment oferings, including a striking, mosaic-tiled main pool with a 40-tonne water capacity, swim-up bar, and cascading waterfall. The sun deck adds a spacious spa pool with panoramic views, while a chilled plunge pool awaits in the Balinese-inspired lower deck spa.

KING BENJI

Blending wellness innovation with sleek design, King Benji , a 154-foot build by Dunya Yachts, features one of the most unusual and innovative pools on the water. Its split-panel design allows

for dual-temperature zones ranging from an icy 42°F to a balmy 86°F making it ideal for hot-cold water therapy or simply contrasting comfort for guests who prefer a dip in diferent temperatures simultaneously.

TATIANA

Striking in both appearance and amenities, the 262-foot Tatiana from Bilgin Yachts turns heads with its deep red hull but it’s the expansive two-level beach club that truly stands out. The lower level houses the star attraction and one of two onboard pools: a 27-foot-long freshwater pool framed by glass columns, Carrara marble, and a glowing agate floor, all dramatically revealed when the af door opens to the sea.

As a screen rises behind the water, guests can foat or recline on surrounding sofas as they enjoy a one-of-a-kind movie night under the stars, accompanied by an immersive audio system from Focal and Naim.

ALFA NERO

Few yachts combine beauty and engineering like the 269-foot Alfa Nero by Oceanco, with exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard. Its award-winning af-deck infnity pool features a built-in current and a waterfall edge of sloping glass, creating a dazzling light show afer dark. THE RISE OF THE Supercat

Sleek, sustainable, and spacious, large power catamarans are becoming the new icons of luxury yachting.

Once considered the quirky cousin of sleek superyachts, the catamaran is having a moment.

At the Monaco Yacht Show, multihulls have dominated the spotlight for two consecutive years frst with Tecnomar’s avant-garde This Is It in 2023 and again in 2024 with Rossinavi’s sleek, sustainable Seawolf X. No longer a niche category, luxury catamarans are commanding serious attention for their radical design, expansive living spaces, and environmental credentials. Add to that the rise of eco-conscious builders like Sunreef and a clear trend is taking shape.

The catamaran is rapidly redefning luxury on the water and no vessel captures this shif more strikingly than This Is It . At 143 feet, this

bold multihull from Tecnomar and the Italian Sea Group may divide opinion, but its impact is undeniable. One of the most unconventional yacht launches in recent memory, This Is It is wrapped in over 6,000 square feet of glass with foor-toceiling windows and strategically placed skylights. Inside, its asymmetrical curvaceous interior is designed to both shock and enchant, featuring subtle marine-inspired motifs. Standout features include a sleek bar, a serene spa, and a villa-style owner’s suite with a private balcony overlooking the stern. At night, the yacht’s sweeping arch glows with neon light—ensuring she dazzles even afer dark.

Another star of this multihull movement is Seawolf X, a 140-foot hybrid-electric catamaran by Rossinavi. One of the most talked-about

yachts at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, Seawolf X fuses futuristic styling with strong sustainability credentials. Fast-charging batteries and solar panels allow for a full day of electric cruising or several days at 90% capacity making her a standout choice for eco-minded charterers. The interiors, designed by Meyer Davis Studio, are inspired by sun, sea, and sand, and accommodate 12 guests across fve cabins.

Sunreef, meanwhile, is leading the evolution in green catamaran design.

Its game-changing Sunreef 100 Eco model integrates solar panels into nearly every surface from the hull to the superstructure, mast, and boom supplying energy to electric motors for near-silent zero-emission sailing. Hydro generators add even more range under sail. Measuring 96 feet, the yacht ofers expansive refned interiors and a highly customizable layout, including the option to sail or motor depending on the owner’s preference. It's sustainability without compromise.

{The latest generation of catamarans is drawing attention from Miami to Monaco.

In April, the yacht builder took its sustainability ambitions further with the launch of Solar Skin

3.0 a next-generation, AI-powered solar system designed to maximize efficiency and set a new benchmark in marine solar innovation. The smart panels leverage machine learning algorithms and real-time data collected from Sunreef catamarans operating in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Dubai. This continuous feedback loop allows the system to refne panel placement and optimize energy yield dynamically, delivering greater efciency throughout the year.

The latest generation of catamarans is drawing attention from Miami to Monaco. Even in far-flung destinations like the Galápagos Islands, the evolution is unmistakable. The newly launched Hermes developed by travel company Via Natura and built in Guayaquil, Ecuador is arguably the most impressive commercial yacht operating in the archipelago today. It exemplifes the growing demand for high design, comfort, and environmental sensitivity in expedition cruising.

A first of its kind, Hermes is the Galápagos Islands’ inaugural ultra-luxury catamaran.

Designed to host just 20 guests with a nearly 1:1 crew-toguest ratio, it delivers a tailored experience with all the amenities of a much larger vessel. Each suite features a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath beside a window perfect for soaking in the views as the islands drif by. Onboard, guests enjoy a comfortable lounge, a dining room, a library filled with Galápagos literature, and an intimate spa with a hammam.

Outdoor highlights include a panoramic observation deck, a sun-drenched Jacuzzi area, alfresco dining spaces, and a bow-facing spot ideal for sunset apéritifs. Dining, meanwhile, is a standout with Ecuadorian and international menus crafted by a distinguished local chef. It’s little wonder that luxury adventure travel specialists Cookson Adventures have selected Hermes for charter, offering it to some of its most discerning clients.

From bold design statements in Monaco to low-impact luxury in the Galápagos, today’s catamarans are rewriting the rules of yachting. No longer just wide-bodied alternatives to monohulls, they now represent the cutting edge of innovation, comfort, and sustainability at sea. As designers and shipbuilders continue to push the boundaries, it seems the age of the supercat has arrived.

QUIETluxury

{In its latest collection, GIADA rede nes resort wear for the woman who seeks comfort and couture.

When it comes to the world of quiet luxury, few fashion brands deliver with as much grace and depth as GIADA.

The Milan-based fashion label, long celebrated for its understated refnement and couture-level craftsmanship, has recently turned its attention to designs that feel at home both on the deck of a superyacht and in the sun-drenched corners of the Mediterranean. In its latest collection, GIADA redefines resort wear for the woman who seeks comfort and couture.

According to Beiren Zhu, GIADA’s International Marketing Manager, this evolution is a natural expression of the brand’s ethos. “Quiet luxury is expressed through a refined visual language of flowing silhouettes, sophisticated textures, and meticulous construction,” he says. “Each piece feels light yet expressive, drawing inspiration from the serene strength of the ocean.”

That inspiration manifests in thoughtful design details: soft gradients and fluid pleats mimic the rhythm of waves, while a palette of ivory, navy, and pale blue reflects the subtleties of sea and sky. Rather than overtly nautical motifs, GIADA leans into abstraction,

echoing the experience of yachting rather than illustrating it. A navy double-breasted blazer and technical windbreaker nod to the authority of a captain’s wardrobe, while a striped open-knit cardigan reinterprets maritime tradition with relaxed sensuality. Figure-skimming ribbed knits in classic maritime hues further enhance the dynamic yet composed aesthetic.

When asked which pieces he considers essential for a summer on the water, Zhu highlights the pleated skirt or dress in ombré ocean tones.

“The tiered design moves like water it’s lightweight yet sculptural and pairs efortlessly with swimwear or a fne-knit bodysuit.” He also

recommends the oversized striped cardigan. “It’s tactile and relaxed, perfect for breezy mornings on deck or sunset aperitivos. It brings a chic sense of ease to any moment.”

While GIADA is rooted in Milan, the brand’s creative imagination often drifts toward the coast, specifcally, Sardinia. The island’s rugged natural beauty and subtle elegance are central to the label’s visual and emotional DNA. “Sardinia is the home of Marino D’Antonio, the founding chef of GIADA Garden, our Michelin-starred restaurant,” Zhu notes. “It’s coastline, warm light, and restrained beauty inspire the purity and texture found in many of our designs even those intended for city life.”

With its latest collection, GIADA invites women to travel light, dream big, and dress with intention. From the city to the sea, these pieces offer a wardrobe that fows as efortlessly as the tides.

SDH Studio blends architecture, interiors, landscaping and...a dock on Miami Beach.

MIAMI

words J. MICHAEL WELTON
photography MIKE RUIZ | @ LEGENDARYPRODUCTIONS

Since Stephanie Halfen established her Miami Beach studio in 2012, she’s designed and built 71 high-end custom homes… and counting.

Seventy percent of them feature docks. “The majority of our projects are on the water, so having a dock is part of the experience,” she says.

The firm’s newest project a home on a canal in Miami Beach is no different. There, a 31-foot dock is part of an integrated package of architecture, interior design, and landscape in search of a sophisticated owner. Its dock will accommodate a yacht that stretches out 70 feet.

The equal attention paid to each area of the property is indicative of the client-driven philosophy developed by Halfen and her frm, SDH Studio. Halfen arrived in the U.S. in 2009 afer receiving a degree in architecture from Simón Bolívar University in her native Venezuela. She later graduated with a second degree in interior design from New York’s Parsons School of Design. What started as a one-person frm now includes 35 people, with 40 projects currently in design, 14 of which are on the oceanfront in Florida, The Bahamas, Mexico, and Panama.

Her intent is to create homes that are spectacular, timeless, and manageable, with low maintenance. “We want to create the kind of space that changes people’s lives for the better,” she says.

That means defining a project as an entity connected with a number of design disciplines. It’s an approach that appeals not just to end users, but to developers, too. And, because the

PACHECO CONNECTED the interior experience with exterior elements.

frm is a developer itself, SDH knows what that market wants and expects, and is well aware of the costs.

“Overspending is not necessary because the integration we get between disciplines is extremely thorough,” says Halfen. “It minimizes conficts because the big ones are addressed early.”

This newest Miami Beach home was designed for a Canadian developer who wanted a high-end residence pairing bold architecture with laid-back coastal luxury and would be desirable on the market.

“He pays a lot of attention to detail,’ says Claudia Fleischman, SDH’s lead interior design for the home. “For everything aesthetics, design, and budget we worked with him for the best end result.”

The first challenge was to maximize the buildable area with a 7,000-square-foot home on a 14,200-square-foot lot, and deal efectively with Miami Beach codes. “On that lot we had to have 14 trees and half of them had to be native,” says Juan Ramón Pacheco of ecopacheco, the landscape architecture frm that’s worked with SDH on 60 homes to date.

“There are 550 shrubs, and half of these had to be native as well.”

His landscape design addresses the scale and proportion of the home as much as it’s viewed from the outside as it is from the inside.

“We wanted to complement the architecture of the house and add value to it without covering it up,” he says. “So, you’re always looking at the greenery and the water from the inside.”

Pacheco also connected the interior experience with exterior elements. “You don’t have to turn lights on, because of all the natural light from the moment you wake up and walk from the bedroom to the kitchen for cofee,” Halfen says. “Wherever you turn, you see something beautiful.”

An exterior courtyard surrounds the stairwell, while custom millwork and doubleheight, 10-foot-high ceilings rise above living, dining, and kitchen areas. Double-height bar areas are 22 feet tall.

When the interior design team received the project, the architecture of the house was already designed, so they started with what they call the “sculpted voyage” a display of light and shadows that weave

{Wherever you turn, you see something beautiful.

throughout its volumes. “As you enter the house you’re greeted with a double-height wall space that features the bar and sculpted staircase,” Fleischman says. “If you keep walking to the kitchen, you’ll fnd a stone island balanced with the sculpture of the stairs and framed views of the canal.”

Objects became part of the architectural experience of moving through the house.

At the same time, light and shadows connect with views of the canal outside, so social areas on the inside look to the outside, and vice versa. “There’s the entry from the street by car, and at the same time you can come in from the canal and a few other places like the living and dining areas,” she says. “The most important social areas are connected to the site.”

The home’s material palette of natural stone and wood hails from Mexico, Italy, and Portugal. The exterior is clad in travertine, with aluminum louvers. Inside, custom trim and cabinetry is Italian walnut, with more travertine and marble, and limestone foors.

“You feel like you’re inside sculpted travertine, especially in the baths with the travertine spazzolato, white marble, and Collemandina marble with gold veins,” she says.

Spare and elegant, this home is only missing two key elements: One is a new owner. The other is a yacht for the elegantly designed dock that waits along the canal.

WATERFRONT LUXURY Historic

PICTURED: Pier Sixty-Six's marina is a world-class destination.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida may not be the rst destination that comes to mind when one thinks of historic landmarks. But, as anyone who’s old enough to remember Fort Lauderdale in the 1960s will tell you, few destinations had more swagger, style, and sophistication than the 17-story hotel tower that was Pier Sixty-Six.

Not only was it the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale when it opened in 1965, it also featured the uber-hip Pier Top lounge that rotated 360 degrees every 66 minutes, so celebrities, locals, tourists, and other Lauderdale A-Listers could gather to see the ever-changing view...while being seen at the same time.

In fact, Pier Sixty-Six has been attracting boaters since Phillips 66 Petroleum (so that’s

where the name comes from!) built a marina and fuel dock on the Intracoastal Waterway to serve as a jumping-of point to The Bahamas in the 1950s. The 32-acre property even included a golf course back then, too.

But, as they say...things change. Afer years of neglect and damage sufered from hurricanes, the fate of Pier Sixty-Six stood in the balance, until 2016, when the Tavistock Development

Company stepped in and committed $1 billion to improving the property and preserving Pier Sixty-Six’s legacy of stylish waterfront luxury. Since then, the entire Pier Sixty-Six property has been transformed into a modern, worldclass resort with 325 guest rooms and suites as well as numerous dining and lounge options. The 13,000-square-foot Zenova Spa & Wellness center offers everything from massages and facials, including the spa’s signature feature Via Aquae an “immersive, multi-sensory journey that blends traditional rituals with cutting-edge therapies,” and even something you don’t see every day in South Florida: a “snow room.”

The redeveloped marina is state-of-the-art. And, the tower, with its iconic rotating Pier Top Lounge, has been faithfully and elegantly restored.

After spending some time at the resort recently, and speaking with Marine Director Megan Lagasse, I’ve seen for myself that Pier Sixty-Six is way more than a collection of luxury waterfront amenities. It’s a warm and welcoming community in the heart of one of America’s biggest yachting hubs.

PICTURED: Pier Sixty-Six has great views, great pools, great dining options and...a snow room as well!

“We want all our guests to feel like they are part of the Pier Sixty-Six family as soon as they step of their boat or give their car keys to the valet,” Megan says with a smile. “We take care of everything from booking space in the marina and making dinner reservations, to lounging by one of our three pools, or scheduling spa treatments. Everything is easy.”

That ethos is also very much a part of the new luxury residential community that has developed alongside the reimagined hotel and marina. Pier Sixty-Six Residences are the frst ever residential ownership opportunity Pier Sixty-Six has ofered. Three diferent design concepts are available in two separate condo towers (Azul and Indigo) and two additional boutique-style Resort Residences buildings. There are 88 total residences that range

in price from $3.85 million to $15.5 million. And, oh yeah, the 31 Pier Sixty-Six Indigo condos are the frst buildings in Fort Lauderdale to ofer a private plunge pool in each condo residence.

But don’t just take my word for it. Bob Powers has owned plenty of boats over the years, including a Hatteras 75 that he docked at the “old” Pier Sixty-Six before construction began on the new development. “Our main residence is in Fort Lauderdale, right across the street from Pier Sixty-Six in the Harbor Beach neighborhood,” he says. “So we thought we’d book a table at Calusso [the restaurant that overlooks the water] to see how it all came out last winter. But, all we did was sit there and say, ‘Are you kidding me? This came out perfect.’

PICTURED: Pier Sixty-Six is one of best destinations for boaters in all of Florida.

“And I’m not kidding when I tell you that we pretty much bought our condo there the next day! We don't live there yet. But our condo has the same amazing view we loved at Calusso, only better since we are three floors up. It's a great spot and, better yet, we'll be looking at our brand new Princess X80 down in the marina.

“The thing that really fipped the switch for us is that we feel like we're part of a community. Fort Lauderdale is great but we never really felt a sense of community because it’s so big, and we're actually ‘country’ people, for the most part. But when we're at Pier Sixty-Six, we’ve gotten to

know people. And, we’re reacquainted with the marina folks that were there when we had the Hatteras there, too. We feel like we’re part of it.

“We like to do a lot of things in Fort Lauderdale, like dinner cruises on the boat and stuf. And now we have the best of both worlds. We'll have the condo, the boat right there, and we can bring the boat down to the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo when we want to use it there too.”

But Bob probably summed it up best just before we said goodbye.

“I feel like they built the place just for us.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

PICTURED: Lauda can hold his breath for up to 15 minutes while freediving in the clear water near his village.

I fixed my mask, clamped down on my regulator mouthpiece, and flipped back off the side of our tender. As I slowly descended into the warm Banda Sea, my oxygen tank strapped firmly to my back, I cleared the pressure from my ears and took in my surroundings. The water’s remarkable visibility stretched far into the blue, over the sharp craggy reef teeming with marine life and shapely coral. When I reached a depth of 30 feet, hovering just above the sandy seabed, I looked up toward the sky, and waited.

I’d been anticipating this moment for weeks, from the second Rascal Voyages told me that meeting the Bajau divers formed an integral part of their new Indonesian charter itinerary to Wakatobi. As one of the last seafaring communities to still live on water, the Bajau have spent centuries honing their freediving skills. Studies have shown that their spleens have evolved, enabling their bodies to hold more oxygen, a wild phenomenon that inspired James Cameron when creating Avatar: The Way of the Water

Earlier in the day we’d met with Lauda, a 50-year-old spearfisherman who had boarded our phinisi yacht Rascal to tell us about his community and village, Sampela. The Bajau teach their children to fish from the tender

age of five, yet the more dangerous freediving is reserved until they’re at least 15 years old. Lauda is one of the most proficient divers in Sampela, capable of holding his breath for 15 minutes while diving to depths of 65 feet.

We had cruised overnight from Kaledupa to Hoga island in the far north of the Wakatobi region. Now, safely strapped into our scuba gear, we drifed in wait, ready to watch Lauda demonstrate his skills frsthand. As I looked skyward, I saw him don a pair of bottle-glass goggles handcarved from mango wood, take a deep breath, and nosedive into the salty sea. Clutching his wooden speargun, he swam down to the seabed where he casually walked barefoot along the tops of the sharp, ragged coral.

journeys

PICTURED: Sampela is an entire village built over the water.

Moving with ease as though he were on land, he surveyed his surroundings, patiently stalking the fish.

He dived over and over, holding his breath for unfathomably long spells, until under our watchful gaze he took aim, fred, and resurfaced holding a yellow angelfsh he’d struck square on its side.

Later that day, Lauda welcomed us into his home village of Sampela, where he subsidizes his fshing income with a humble homestead an example of the tourism his community gladly welcomes. I was led by excited children who grabbed my hand and guided me across wooden boardwalks and narrow labyrinthian planks that crisscrossed the stilted village. Women crouched on the foor preparing their evening meals as kids splashed in the shallows, their laughter ringing out across the sea as they slapped each other with dead stingray.

It took four fights, one car ride, a tender hop, and a 13-hour overnight crossing to reach Wakatobi National Park from the UK, such is the remoteness of this quiet corner of Indonesia in Southeast Sulawesi. Yet with the help of Rascal Voyages’ dedicated itinerary, it possesses everything required to become a charter mainstay for those looking for a walk on the wild side.

Salterra resort brings a whole new avor to relaxation in the Turks and Caicos.

photography COURTESY OF SALTERRA

When the rst direct ight from Miami to South Caicos landed in March, 2025, the local community came out in force to celebrate.

Dignitaries few in, including the governor of Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) and members of her cabinet. According to Miami Living, the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Zhavargo Jolly proclaimed, “We remember when South Caicos was the thriving heart of commerce in the TCI. Today, it stands ready for a new beginning. This direct international fight is not just a symbol of progress; it’s a clear message to the world that South Caicos is back, stronger and more vibrant than ever.”

Prior to March, if you wanted to get here, you frst had to land in Providenciales, TCI’s tourism hub. Most travelers never bothered continuing, and so this once-busy destination lay dormant for years with only one high-end resort in operation. But that also changed in March, when Salterra, a new member of The Luxury Collection, opened its doors to guests. And, no, the synced timing with American Airlines wasn’t a coincidence.

The resort’s founder and CEO, Michael Tibbetts, explains. “Salterra won’t be a success unless South Caicos is successful,” he says. “I led negotiations with American, and we tied the new direct fight to our opening. The move has already created ancillary jobs agents, a taxi business.”

Tibbetts actually became involved with Salterra’s property back in 2021, when his

family’s multi-generational company, JEM Worldwide, purchased the East Bay Resort. He rebranded it Reef Divers South Caicos before deciding to complete a major renovation and reopen as Salterra. One of his goals was to root it more deeply in the history of the island.

“The story had to come first,” he says. “So we spent time researching and developing a coherent framework for design decisions. The Taino people were the original inhabitants of South Caicos, and we’ve tried to weave in parts of their story using replicas of relics such as duho chairs that were discovered in local caves. We wanted to create a sense of place.”

To this end, Tibbetts and his team also worked with regional suppliers, using coral rock from the Dominican Republic, for example. “The front

doors are carved from acacia wood, a recurring theme,” he says. “And both inside and out, we sourced native plants like cacti and agave.”

Salt, the resort’s namesake, also features prominently.

Salterra sits between its white sand beach and the salinas, or salt flats, that take up 455 acres or about 20% of the island’s land mass. These salinas once produced more salt than any other island in TCI, but the market collapsed in the 1960s, and they’ve been abandoned ever since. Now they function more like a bird sanctuary where American Flamingos, Tricolored Herons, and Reddish Egrets hunt alongside Dowitchers and Plovers.

{“Yes, we’re all about great food and spa treatments, but what we really want is to make memories.”

The salinas are unforgettable. Just a short walk from your room and you’re in this tableau of refected light and crumbling salina walls. A dilapidated windmill stands near the road. A sluice marked with bright-colored posts runs through the dunes to the sea. If you walk down the beach from Salterra, you’ll come to the other end of this, with two sliding gates that once regulated the water flow. Though industrial production has ceased, the salinas still produce salt, and sometimes guests can gather it themselves. It also makes its way onto your plate at Brine, Salterra’s fine-dining restaurant overlooking the salinas. Don’t miss the “White Gold” tasting menu that pairs each course with a diferent favor of salt (as well as a diferent vintage of wine).

South Caicos today is a community of about 1200 people, but it’s also the TCI’s fshing capital thanks to its abundant and healthy reefs and

flats. Tibbetts understands the responsibility that comes with promoting tourism, which is one reason he sponsors the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium. Project manager John DeBuysser told me the partnership began in 2023. “Salterra wasn’t even open yet,” he said, “but they wanted this to be a part of the guest experience.” SCCRC operates out of the School for Field Studies in Cockburn Harbour, so they’ve been able to draw on more then 15 years of reef-monitoring data as they work to preserve and grow diferent corals.

Salterra has created programs to bring guests on board, as well. A couple of times a week, the resort ofers an hour-long tour of the lab, and its activities ofce features a Coral Reef Restoration excursion, where guests dive and participate in hands-on work. Tibbetts says, “Yes, we’re all about great food and spa treatments, but what we really want is to make memories.”
