FRANKLIN COLLEGE CARLSON-STAUFFER VISITING WRITER SERIES

TÉA FRANCO

SEPT 16 at 6:30 PM JCFA, HENDERSON RM 2025 | 2026

Téa Franco is a fiction writer based out of Indianapolis and has published short stories and poems at venues including Barrelhouse Magazine, Barren Magazine, and Foglifter Press. Her short stories have received nominations for Best Small Fictions, Best of the Net, and Pushcart prizes.

Téa earned a B.A. in journalism from Winthrop University and an M.F.A. in prose writing from Bowling Green State University. She is co-editor of Kiss Your Darlings: A Taylor Swift Anthology, out with Olney Magazine. She has served as the Fiction Editor of Mid-American Review and the associate fiction editor of Okay Donkey Magazine. As a creative writing instructor, she loves spreading the joy of creative writing to people of all ages and has served as a visiting writer to a delightful second grade class in Bowling Green, Ohio and then later as a writing instructor at Indy Reads.

With research support and funding from the Central Indiana Community Foundation, Téa took a two-week excursion to San Juan, Puerto Rico — where Téa’s father and grandmother are from — where she spent time learning about her ancestry. This will be used to fuel her new novel centered on a matriarchal family from the island. Find Téa on social media @teafranco.
