Dear Residents and Park District Friends:

Spring is here and summer is right around the corner! We hope the Park District of Franklin Park is included in your summer plans. We have plenty of outdoor programs and events coming this season.

Our award-winning Summer Camps offer plenty of opportunities for your children to play and socialize. Our experienced staff, activities and field trips make our camps the best in the area. Summer Camps are available for ages 2-14 including Before & After Camp.

Enjoy live music with your family and neighbors on Tuesday nights. Our Summer Concert Series at North Park takes place outdoors by the baseball fields. We have a great lineup of performances this summer!

The Pool on Pacific staff is ready to return to action! There is no better place in town to spend your summer days at. Take advantage of the Early Bird Pools Pass Special and save $10 per pass. News on aquatics programs and events are coming soon!

The Park District of Franklin Park is looking forward to another actionpacked summer! There are plenty of experiences for you and your families to participate in. We encourage you to visit your parks and discover the neighborhoods.

Calling all first time campers! It’s time for your children to do what they do best... PLAY! Our camp staff develop weekly themes to promote exciting play-based experiences. Campers will learn about the greater world around them while developing healthy social skills. This camp is a great precursor for Tot School. Being toilet trained is preferred, but not required. Diapers must be checked immediately before camp. If your child requires a diaper change during class, the family is contacted to come right away.

Sunshine Camp

AGES 3-4 YEARS | CODE 6677

In this camp we focus on exploration and discovery as a way to continue learning over the summer. Our goal is to grow your child’s imagination by engaging them in creative crafts and activities! We encourage every camper to become more independent by allowing them to make decisions. We introduce concepts and hands-on activities like gardening to develop a greater appreciation for nature. This half-day camp is a perfect way to jump start your child for our Playschool and Preschool programs. Being toilet trained is required for camper participation.

Discovery Camp

Discovery Day Camp is the place to be this summer! This awardwinning camp forms new friendships and exercises campers’ imaginations. Themed days, on-site demonstrations and special event days give your children plenty of experiences. We pride ourselves as the area’s best summer camp because of our combination of qualified staff and activities. Upon registering, please provide us with your camper’s health history, photo and emergency medical information.

We designed this camp with the older campers in mind. Campers play a variety of group games which creates a comfortable environment to make new friends. We will also explore different parks throughout the Park District. Teens benefit from working in a group and having increased responsibility.

General Information

Come by the best spot to cool off in town! The Park District of Franklin Park’s Pool on Pacific is open every day starting Saturday, May 27 through August 13. After that, we are only open weekends until Labor Day. The fun lasts all summer with exciting features including two slides, a plunge dive, diving board, adult sun deck, basketball hoop and a fun-filled tot pool area. The tot area fans out to zero depth and has several water features for little ones to enjoy.

PURCHASE BY APRIL 22 FOR SAVINGS

Enjoy your summer close to home by making a splash at the Pool on Pacific! The most affordable way to visit the pool is to purchase a season pass. If you purchase your season pass by Saturday, April 22 you save $10 per pass. The Park District requires residents to obtain or renew their Resident Pass before purchasing a pool pass at the Community Center. Resident Passes prove residency when purchasing pool passes or paying daily admissions. This ensures that all residents are paying the correct rate for the Pool on Pacific and other Park District programs. For your convenience, patrons may purchase their passes at the pool. Season passes are non-refundable

Pool Pass Punch Card

Are you expecting guests for a weekend or do you plan to visit the pool only a couple of times? Then a Pool Punch Pass Card is right for you! Each card contains 10 punches used for admission to the pool during the 2023 season. One punch admits any individual ages three and up. That is a savings of at least $1 per person off the daily admission rate. Punch cards are available for purchase March 7.

Pool on Pacific

Private Weekend Pool Parties

Take advantage of a warm summer evening with your family and friends. The Pool on Pacific offers pool rentals for private parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights starting at 6:30 p.m. The pool includes fun features like two slides, a plunge dive, diving board, adult sun deck, basketball hoop and a large tot pool area. You can bring your own food. No alcoholic beverages or barbeque grills are allowed on pool property and all pool rules/ policies must be followed. Our well-trained staff and facility are designed to provide a safe environment for your next celebration.

Dates fill up quickly and are on a first-come, first-served basis — reserve today! Parties are available for booking starting June 3 through August 6. After August 6 parties are only available on Saturdays. In addition, no parties will be held Labor Day Weekend. For more information, contact the Park District at 847-455-2852.

On Tuesday, July 4, the Pool on Pacific is open for everyone to come cool themselves off. Games, raffles and prizes take place. Spend the holiday splashing around and cooling off with us.

Open Swim Pool Parties

These parties are held during normal public swim hours. You can have up to 12 guests, including all adults and children 3 and up. For any additional guests there is a fee; up to 24 guests. Your fee covers unlimited swimming starting at 1:00 p.m. till close. It also includes a one hour table reservation in the concessions area either at 2:00, 3:00, or 4:00 p.m. A slice of pizza, an ice cream treat, and a gatorade or water bottle are included for each guest. Movie Night

Looking for a new idea for family night? Enjoy Moana poolside or in the water at the pool! Popcorn is provided. Floatation devices are not allowed with the exception of pool noodles.

Narwhal Swim Team

AGES 9-18 YEARS

This program promotes sportsmanship, team spirit, responsibility and individual achievement. Narwhal Swim Team develops each swimmer to his or her full potential. The team provides fitness and friendly competition in a positive environment. We welcome anyone wanting to improve his or her swimming skills. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards non-stop without touching the bottom of the pool and the skills to be able to swim freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.

When the sun sets over North Park, it’s time for the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt! Bring your flashlight and Easter baskets or bags to help collect eggs. The Easter Bunny is attending, so bring your camera too! The hunt is cancelled if there is inclement weather

Spring Ice Show

A COMMUNITY EVENT FOR ALL AGES!

If you haven’t seen one of our annual shows, you’ve been missing out! Each year, the Ice Arena presents a “near professional” production for your enjoyment. The costumes are colorful, the music is energetic and the lighting effects are vibrant. Best of all is watching our Skating School students perform. From tots through teens, they look forward to performing their newly learned jumps, spins and choreographed routines in front of an audience. Bring the entire family to be part of that audience. Summer Concert Concert

Every Tuesday evening District at our annual Summer Concert Series. The concerts are held at our beautiful gazebo at North Park. The bands will start playing at 7:00 pm. Refreshments are available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of entertainment with your friends and neighbors.

You don’t want to miss this unforgettable annual Summer event! Live music, local food vendors, children’s activities and much more will fill the street. Bring your family out to Franklin Avenue and a fun-filled summer night with your Franklin Park friends and neighbors.

Spend an evening with your neighbors and meet Park District staff as you enjoy a free barbeque. Staff bring bubbles, chalk and other play equipment. These casual gatherings are part of a four year park tour where we visit every park in the district. Staff hand deliver invitations to each neighborhood.
