THE ART OF LIVING WELL The Society of the Four Arts proudly presents programs from its Campus on the Lake department guaranteed to enrich and elevate your daily existence. The master class, “Conversations on Style” with Steven Stolman, premieres on December 2. Stolman is a designer and writer best known to Palm Beachers as the creator of the eponymous resortwear brand that, during its existence, featured a shop on Worth Avenue. For a little more than a decade, his label graced the wardrobes of stylish women and men alike, and was considered part and parcel to the Palm Beach look. Stolman has been a frequent presenter at The Four Arts, beginning with his appearance as Addison Mizner in “The Palm Beach Follies.” His engaging book talks and signings have delighted Four Arts audiences over the years. “He is amusing, funny, and witty — a show in and of himself,” said Sofia Vollmer Maduro, The Four Arts’ director of programs. “We have the perfect presenter to lead a series of casual interviews on style.” Stolman’s first book, Scalamandré: Haute Décor, featured tales from his three years as President of the home furnishing band, leading a broad expansion of products. He has made Palm Beach his primary residence since 2014 and is currently working on his seventh book along with countless articles for Town & Country magazine and consulting for interior designers and home furnishings manufacturers. Stolman’s conversation on December 2 will feature Robert Carvaggi on “The Story of Swifty’s — The Iconic Social Saloon.” Caravaggi co-founded Swifty’s in New York in 1999, and its regulars included style icons Aerin Lauder, Martha Stewart, and Michael Kors. A Swifty’s Palm Beach opened at The Colony in December 2019, closed in March, and was scheduled to reopen again at the end of October.
