Foundation Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private Christian school, was founded in 1958 as a ministry of Winter Garden’s First Baptist Church. All grades were housed at the Plant Street Campus until 2007 when the upper school grades moved to a new 70-acre property in south Winter Garden. In 2019, the Lakeside Campus was established and currently serves Kindergarten through 4th grade with 5th and 6th grades to be added for the 2023-2024 school year. Students from both Plant Street and Lakeside Campuses transition to the Tilden Campus for grades 7 through 12. Foundation Academy’s three campuses serve over 1,100 students; with 550 students enrolled at Tilden Campus. The school continues to grow and thrive as a part of the Orlando Metropolitan area, which is supported by tourism, aerospace, entertainment, hospitality, and technology industries.

TESTING

Each year nationally mormed standardized testing is administered. Our students score above state and national averages on standard tests. Average scores from the 2022 ACT Aspire are noted below.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Additional educational support programs for qualified students are avaialble through our NILD program. These one-on-one educational therapy sessions are typlically twice a week during the school day. NILD and Speech Therapy are avaialble at an additonal cost, and as space is available. Students entering support programs must be performing on grade level and, through the application process, show readiness for the rigor of the academic environment and expectation at Foundation Academy.

Foundation Academy Admissions Checklist

APPLY ONLINE

Go to FoundationAcademy.net/APPLY and click the link to our online application system You will set up an account, log in, create a new application (one per student) and then edit the application packet to complete each page of the requested information There is a place to upload images of requested documents The deadline to submit an application is May 4, 2023

PRELIMINARY REVIEW

The application will be subject to a preliminary review to examine the initial application documents and information against minimum criteria before proceeding to the next step If this criteria is not met, a decline letter will be sent and the application closed. If met, the admissions office will email with the next steps. In addition to the preliminary criteria, the entrance assessment, student and parent interviews, and space availability in the class will determine a final admission decision. Please note: An application is not a guarantee of admission

PARENT INTERVIEW*

Parents will be contacted to schedule a parent interview. This interview is an opportunity for philosophical compatibility discussions and expectations of a Foundation Academy education experience.

ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT*

The admissions office will email a link to schedule the student’s entrance assessment For students entering grades 7 12, a student interview will also be conducted at that time

RECEIVE AN ADMISSION DECISION

Offers of admission are based on class availability and all the information gathered in the application process which illustrate potential success in our classroom and our curriculum. This decision is prayerfully discerned by our Admissions Committee. Availability is determined after returning families have paid deposits and confirmed reenrollment for the upcoming school year. Once classes are full, accepted students will be placed in a wait pool and notified if space becomes available.

Early Decision: Offers of admission begin on January 24, 2023 for those who meet the early decision criteria and complete the application process by December 8, 2022

Standard Admissions: Offers of admission begin on February 8, 2023 and continue through May 12, 2023 (as space allows).
