The sun can also be dangerous…
The sun arrives to the Earth in the form of different rays.
Some of these rays, which are known as ultraviolet rays, strike the skin and can be harmful.

How does the skin protect us?
By producing melanin
It is a natural substance that gives color to the skin, hair and eyes. When you expose yourself to the sun, your body produces more melanin in order to protect you against the Sun.
By increasing skin layers
The thicker our protective shield is, the better it can defend us against ultraviolet rays.
With sweat
Sweat acts as a solar filter that protects us against harmful rays.

But, watch out!
Not all skin types react in the same way.
If you have fair skin, are blond or red-haired or have light eyes and freckles, you have a more sensitive skin and you are exposed to a special risk, since in less than 10 minutes the sun can star burning your skin.
On the other hand, if you have a darker skin, you are less sensitive to solar exposure. But, be careful! You can also suffer sun burns if you spend long periods of time in the sun. Keep in mind that your skin is not prepared to be exposed to the Sun in the same way as that of an adult.

In the mountains, the higher you are above sea level, the greater is the intensity of the rays you can receive.
You must also bear in mind that rays are capable of rebounding against some surfaces, and by doing so they increase their harmful effect on your skin. You must be especially careful when you are in the snow, the sand, water or grass.

And we must also take into account the time of the day we expose.
Between 12pm and 4pm, solar rays arrive vertically and are more intense; therefore, we must avoid going to the beach, to the swimming pool or exposing ourselves to the sun during these hours.
Bear in mind that the skin has memory. If you expose yourself to the sun without photoprotecting yourself properly, when you are older you’ll have your skin in a bad condition.

Apply it at home half an hour before leaving.
You need to have dry skin to smooth it. Use a sufficient amount in all your body.
