FALL SPORTS RECAP

Fort Vancouver High School Trappers

T

he fall sports seasons include cross country, boys tennis, boys golf,football,volleyball, slow pitch softball, cheer, girls swimming, and girls soccer. Here is a summary from Athetic Director James Ensley. Cross country: Pretty good season, 2 girls qualified for state; boys and girls placed very well. Boys tennis: Did really well, Andrew qualified for state and he placed in 4th place in league overall they did great job. Boys golf: 2 golfers they both did a great job hopefully we can get more golfers next season. Football: Was a rebuilding year. They got a win at the start of the season and then competed for the rest of the year. Volleyball: Good season. Had their first league win against Woodland; a great group of girls and they really improved. Slow pitch softball: Won 3 games this year. They had a full time team we used to combine with Skyview but we had enough for our own team, new coach this year and the girls had a wonderful experience. Cheer: Had a great season they ended up cheering for multiple sports and did community service. They went to both away and home games to make sure the support was there and the coach did a great job Girls swimming: Had girls qualify for districts this year, had a fun time, and continue to do better. Girls soccer: Had 2 full teams for the first time with JV and Varsity, multiple wins including against Bay and had multiple successes on and off the field.
