Congratulations to Isaac Dennett, Fort Vancouver student and recipient of the 2025 WASA Student Leadership Award!

Hello all! This is Isaac, your Editor-in-Chief. That’s probably the last time I’m going to say that. I’m going to my last school board meeting next week, our last day of school is quickly approaching, we’ve had our last journalism club meeting today on May 29th.

It’s crazy to see how everything is so quickly wrapping up now. We started the journalism club my freshman year with only three people, and we have lost some and grown a lot. From short little editions 3 times a year to getting some more consistent editions that are much larger in size, and our writing has improved a lot too. Me and Christian are the only ones who have seen it out the whole four years, but everyone else who joined is doing great too! I appreciate everyone who has put just so much time into this project. We’ve done great things together!

We’ve caught the attention of the staff at our school and at the district office a few times now, and I’ve heard so much praise about some of the things that

some of our writers have done.

We’ve covered the plans for the I-5 bridge, shone a light on every single class pet, covered unified sports, talked trash about our parking lot, and so much more. And to those of you readers who have taken the time to read it all, we appreciate you so much.

It really has been an adventure. 90% of our staff is graduating this year, including me, so there are going to be some vacancies to say the least. If you want to join, feel free! We have snacks. Email Ms. Fay for information next year in October!

But to wrap up my last piece that I’ll ever write for this club, thank you all so much. To my co-writers, to the readers, I have had so much fun working on this newspaper. I hope it lives on for years to come, constantly expanding and reshaping to the new writers it picks up.

SKILLS USA

This year, we had more than 10 students go to SkillsUSA to test their skills against other students in their skill of choice. For those who haven’t heard of SkillsUSA before, it is similar to a sports competition, has students from our school and many others go and compete to see who can do what they know best. These skills range from things like animation, welding, cooking, videography, and much more, as around 130 different occupations are in the SkillsUSA program. Students first compete at the regional level, and if they get a top placement, then they can go to state. If they can get first place in the state, then the person can go to nationals and compete against the best the country has to offer.

This is a great opportunity for students, especially in our multiple magnets, to improve their skills and get more real-life experience using what they have learned. Many can use this opportunity to put

the placements and experience at SkillsUSA on their resumes to be used for jobs or college applications to show their interest and knowledge.

Our 12 competitors that went to SkillsUSA competed, using their skills from our magnet programs, and some students even took independent skills test not related to Fort’s magnets. We even had Fort Kaylee Justice take 1st place in the state for baking, which gave her the chance to compete at Nationals in Georgia later this June. Getting first place in the state is quite a feat, as many students from the countless schools in Washington bring their best to represent their region. Because of the challenge in doing SkillsUSA, I believe they should be recognized, so below are the names of our 12 students who competed for Fort.

Prom: Tangled in the Lights

Join us for an unforgettable night at the 2025 prom, held at the beautiful Hilton Hotel! We danced the night away with our amazing DJ, who kept the energy high and the music flowing. This year’s prom court features the dynamic duo, Camilo Quiroz and Azul Martínez, who added such excitement and a heartwarming dance to the evening.

As we celebrate this milestone, we took some time to reflect on our high school experiences through some senior exit surveys. Many seniors shared their aspirations, mentors, and advice for the incoming freshman/upcoming seniors.

Notable mentions include Rivard, Finnie, Pongracz, and Dunegan, all who have inspired students at Fort throughout their journey. Accomplishments highlighted by our peers include getting high grades in challenging classes, pulling through and advocating for oneself, and participating in practice interviews to prepare them for success and the next steps.

A key piece of advice for incoming freshmen is to avoid procrastination!

Something we all wish we had mastered to accomplish earlier! This was sure a prom night to remember for our seniors, filled with meaningful connections and lasting memories as we prepare to embark on our next adventures.

Recipes For summer fun

Most of us, without school work to do, have some free time during the summer. What better way to spend that time than learning how to make new and interesting foods and desserts. Here are some simple recipes to get you started!

Vegan Peanut Butter Cake with Chocolate Peanut Glaze

To make the cake you have to preheat the oven to 350 F

To prepare the batter you can either make it in a blender or hand mix it

• Add 1½ cup of non-dairy milk, ¾ cup of sugar, 2 tbsp of maple syrup, 1.5 tsp of vanilla extract, ½ cup of smooth peanut butter and 1 tbsp of any oil (I recommend peanut oil) into the blender and blend or hand mix it

• When it’s all mixed add 2 cups of flour, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tsp of baking powder and 1.4 tsp baking soda and mix it in

Grab a 8x8 or 9x9 pan and grease it so the cake doesn’t stick. Then add the batter and put it in the oven for 21-24 minutes (It doesn’t matter if it’s undercooked because there are no eggs)

Start making the glaze once the cake is completely done!!!

To make the glaze combine 2 tbsp of peanut butter, ¼ cup of non dairy milk, 2 tsp of coconut oil and 1 tbsp of sugar in a saucepan over medium to low heat. Stir until smooth

Then add ½ cup of chocolate chips and ¼ cups of dark chocolate until its smooth (It might take a while)

Pour the finished glaze over the cake once it’s done and let the cake sit for 15 minutes, then it’s ready to eat!

Ginger Molasses Cookies

1. In a small bowl, combine 2 1⁄3 cups of flour, 2 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of salt, and spices (2 tsp of ginger, 1 tsp of cinnamon, ½ tsp of cloves). Whisk together to sift and aerate. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer (or the bowl of a stand mixer), combine ¾ cup of butter with ½ cup brown sugar. Cream (Mix) sugars for ~2min on medium speed. Mixture will be thick and creamy.

3. Add egg to butter mixture, and mix until incorporated. Add ⅓ cup of molasses and mix once more until well combined.

4. Add dry (flour) mixture to wet (butter/sugar/egg) mixture. Mix until well combined and ginger molasses cookie dough forms.

5. Tightly wrap/cover dough and refrigerate overnight (You don’t have to but you can). Preheat the oven to 350 F (325F convection bake). Line 1-2 baking sheets with parchment paper/silicone baking mat.

6. Form dough into 2 tbsp dough balls. Roll each dough ball in granulated sugar (Put ½ cups of sugar on a plate to roll in) and place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper/silicone baking mat.

7. Bake cookies for ~10 minutes, or until cookies are firm at the edges and have begun to crack. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet until cookies can be easily lifted from the baking sheet. Cookies will continue to crack as they cool! Place cookies onto a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Enjoy!

WAY TO PLAY

MINE CRAFT STORYMODE: PART 3

In the final part of this series, I’ll help guide you adventurers through the final battle. Once again, this guide will show you how to keep the best storyline sense, keep everyone happy, and especially in this game, keep as many people alive as possible. It’s time to lead Jesse on their final adventure. Only you can control what happens. This world is in your hands. And the upcoming threat is even larger this time.

Episode 1: Hero in Residence

The game opens with Lukas regaling you and your friends with the events of the past game, which he has turned into a book. Jesse, Olivia, and a sleeping Axel are his audience. You all begin to talk about Founding Day, the day you founded Beacontown, a town built upon the wreckage of the Witherstorm’s attack. Axel and Olivia talk about how the cities they now are in charge of, Boom Town and Redstonia respectively. With Axel mentioning the fact Ivor has been gone adventuring for a while, a new character runs into the room. It’s the new intern, Radar, a huge fan of the New Order of The Stone. He says Petra’s looking for you, greets the others, and the two of you leave to head for the town’s mines. Along the way you can see some very familiar faces. Nell, a participant of the Old Builders games now lives here and needs you to build a statue. Stampy Cat and Stacyplays are arguing over which sweet treat to make, which you can help them gather the ingredients for both, while also giving their puppy a bone. You can also pick a pig look alike for your pig Reuben, who

tragically died saving the world from the Witherstorm. During the walk, you look over the memorial you made for Reuben and pay your respects before finally getting to the mines.

Now wearing an iron chestplate, you go through the mines and meet up with Petra. She is disappointed that the other couldn’t come and implies everyone is too busy because of their new roles. While going through the mines, you two run into zombies and you notice that Petra is missing her favorite sword, Miss Butter. When you try to ask her about it, more zombies appear and you both fight them. Petra leads you through the mines, talking about a mystery monster she is hunting for an unknown reason. Petra and you race, in which you can choose to help her with fighting off some spiders, or win the race. Save Petra, as she was already worried her friends had no time for her, so leaving her behind would be a bad look. You two finish the race and catch up to the supposed mystery monster. It’s a llama. Petra is ecstatic you found it, calling it a treasure sniffing llama. After catching the llama, you find out it led you down an undiscovered tunnel in the mines. Through a small cave opening, you see something incredible. A floating prismarine gauntlet on a pyramid of sand. You head in and climb up the pyramid. As you climb, you hear whispers of all the names you earned from your achievements. You reach out towards it and the cavern rumbles, gravel blocking your escape. The gauntlet attaches to your hand, and both you and Petra are unable to remove it. Petra says it may have been your destiny to find the gauntlet, and right then the pyramid

collapses, revealing a giant, gaping pit. Petra dubs it the Heckmouth and you decide to cover it up with dirt blocks. You find a hole in the ceiling of the cavern and climb up the rocks to go through it and reach the surface again. Petra pulls the llama up to the surface and leaves a sign by the hole. Leave the message “WARNING: HECKMOUTH” as people should know what’s going on and will be more willing to listen. Petra says you should find someone called Jack, since he’s known for exploring ocean monuments, which are structures deep underwater and are where prismarine is found. But before Petra can take you to JAck, she starts dragging the llama off. After some pressure, you discover the leader of another city, Stella, tricked Petra into giving away her prized sword. You decide to join Petra to give the llama back and get her sword back.

The two of you head into Champion City, the city Stella runs, and you see the city for the first time. There are dozens of people working on the flower gardens, and turns out, these people also owe Stella, much like Petra does. You head through the gate afterwards and find Stella talking to her people and trash talking Beacontown. Petra struggles to pull the llama, named Lluna, up to Stella who has Stella sent back to her house. Stella mentions how you are her rival, despite having never met her before. Correct her here, as you barely know her, and maybe if someone stands up to her everyone else she’s bullying can too. She notices your glove and offers a puppy as a trade, which you reject. Stella then begins trying to change her and Petra’s deal and reveals Petra gave away her sword as display so she could live in Champion city instead of Beacontown. Stella leaves to go to her treasure hall and you and Petra decide to break in, either by sneaking in or fighting in. Sneaking in is the better option, and as you walk through the tunnel Petra vents about how she feels forgotten by her friends and how they don’t go adventuring anymore. You then see Stella playing with Petra’s sword, pretending to be Petra. She sees you two and surrenders the sword, begging we never speak of this again. As you two leave the Heckmouth explodes open once more and begins spawning charged creepers. You and Petra fight them off to the best of your ability, but your sword breaks. In desperation, you punch with the hand trapped in the gauntlet, absolutely destroying the beasts. You cover the hole up again and head for Jack’s store.

You head through Bad Luck Alley and into Jack’s store. The building radiates adventurer energy, with maps and treasures everywhere. Petra is excited to meet Jack, who is someone she greatly

admires. However, she wants your opinion on how to act. Tell her to just be herself, as that’s the best encouragement you can give. With the ring of a bell, Jack appears. He introduces himself and asks what he can do to help. Once you show him the gauntlet he backs away in fear, trying to say he doesn’t recognize it before with some pressure, admitting he found one once in the exact same set up. Pyramid, monsters, everything. You tell him about a symbol you saw earlier on the pyramid, and he reveals it’s for the source block, a block that can create things out of thin air. And cover up the Heckmouth. Jack says to get one you have to go to an ocean monument, one commonly known as the Sea Temple. At this mention, a villager appears from behind the counter. Jack introduces him as Nurm, a genius mapmaker, and his other half. Jack then says he can’t help you. When you ask why, he shows you a gigantic map that shows way more of the world than you ever knew existed. Including an empty spot. That was the spot with the Sea Temple, and he burned it in a volcano so nobody could go back. He swore to never take anyone there again after he lost his friends Vos and Sammy last time he was there. Nurm convinces Jack to go with you and your group heads out.

After gathering some armor and gear, you all head out across the world. After diving down and slipping past the monsters guarding the sea temple, you get inside. Upon entering the next room, you are greeted with a trial. Monsters, called Elder Guardians, are suspended in floating pools of water. You need to use sponges to get rid of the water to defeat the Guardians and pass. This is when Nurm mentions someone called the Admin, and how they made this place. Jack shrugs him off and says the Admin isn’t real. Choose to distract the Guardians while Petra and Jack defeat the Guardians, but during this chase Jack freezes. He finds the inventory of his dead friend Sammy and freezes, causing you to have to save him and defeat the Guardian. Jack collects Sammy’s items and begins to look for Vos’s things. You find obsidian cages suspended in the air and a man calls out to you and says to open the main door to let him out. After crafting a few items and placing them in the door slots, it and the cages open, and a still living Vos falls out. He survived off a single stack of pork chops. You all continue ahead, much to Vos’s complaints, and reach a wall talking about how the world was flat before the Admin came along and built everything, before leaving while waiting for “the next great heroes to emerge.” Eventually you find two structure blocks. A wall and an arrow shooting device. Take the arrow device, as you need to kill the monsters crawling out of the

Heckmouth rather than just block them, and it’s actually a big enough size to be a wall regardless of materials. Suddenly, a bunch of prismarine statues walk into the room and you must defeat them via the spot of their head. After testing out the source block, a giant statue breaks through the wall. He breaks open the temple, causing Petra’s sword to be in a dangerous position, and Jack to almost fall into some water. While this may sound odd, save Petra’s sword. Jack has a bad eye, and that’s the only thing he loses if he is left alone, so it doesn’t change anything, vehicle Petra’s sword is a very high grade weapon. The giant statue grabs you and attempts to smush you, however he also accidentally creates a way out. You swim through the cracks and escape. You make it back to the Heckmouth and place the structure block, effectively sealing it. You pick up the structure block and head home. Jack gets an eyepatch and everything is alright…until the giant statue crushes your gates. And he is the Admin, and he is after you.

Episode 2: Giant Consequences

The Admin demands a meeting with you, and you build up to speak with him. To your surprise, he compliments your work on the Witherstorm and reveals he left the gauntlet so you would come to the Sea Temple. He demands you fight and pulls out a giant clock. He turns the clock hands to night, causing it to become night, allowing monsters into your city. You go around using the structure block to defend citizens before the Admin gets his hands on the block and eats it. After running around town for a bit, you notice the Admin is built similarly to the smaller statues with a weak spot on the back of his head. He grabs you, however with Lukas’s help you get to safety. You explain to Lukas what’s going on and he creates a distraction. While you climb up the Admin, he purposely steps on Rueben’s memorial. You finally reach his head and punch the gauntlet into his weak spot. As the Admin falls, he compliments your fight and calls you his champion. He then poofs into piles of prismarine and his giant clock. You use it to make it day again and the citizens begin to use the prismarine to patch up any damages.

You rebuild Rueben’s memorial, after choosing to put Radar in charge of the giant clock. He needs confidence. Nell sends you over to Petra, who is hanging around Jack and Vos, who both are acting quite cagey about Petra. Vos mentions an upcoming adventure that Jack demands him to be quiet about. And Petra is planning to join. Then, a snowflake falls. Then hundreds more. Which should be impossible, as this isn´t a snow biome. A snowflake falls onto the gauntlet, causing it to glow. Then a snowman climbs out of the ground. The Admin has a new form, a snowman. He declares you, Petra, Jack and Vos perfect for his challenges before teleporting the giant clock away and turning it night again. Monsters are coming. If you can´t get the clock back from his Icy Palace of Despair, the world will be in a dark snowy night forever. To the Admin, this is all a big game, and he wants you to play. He spawns monsters inside of the town before disappearing. After killing the monsters you regroup with your friends. Radar says he wants to join your group and everyone but Nurm comes along for the quest.

You chat with Petra a bit before running back into Lluna the llama on the path to the palace. Stella walks up and begins to antagonize your group before begrudgingly joining, mistreating Lluna the whole time. Before you all carry on, you notice the moon, stuck in place and glitching, which pushes you to continue on. You find the palace, with itñs top tower holding the clock in place. While Stella insults your group, she reveals Radar used to work for Stella, and how he’s a quitter. Lluna kicks Stella off her back and runs ahead, Stella following.

The Admin appears again, clearly unhappy with the people you´ve brought along. He ignores Stella´s attempts to get on his good side before inviting your group inside, as long as you don´t cheat. He drops you down a pit before disappearing.

As Stella tries to head away, tell her to stop mistreating Lluna, as it’s not right and Lluna´s trust matters down the line. You are now given the chance to follow after them with Jack, Vos, and Petra, as Stella proudly declared Lluna had the clock’s scent. Or you can go with Radar and Lukas, as Radar points out the Admin wants to trick people. Go with Lukas and Radar, as then there are equal groups, and because while Radar wants to help, he is not the strongest, so the power is pretty equal between groups as well. The mine carts shoot off into a complicated network, leading your group through a door with crossed arrows. Once stopped you all climb out and the Admin appears. He leads you through the room, based on karma and archery, before bringing Vos over to make the teams “fair.” You collect arrows and craft a bow before beginning the challenge, with Lukas taking care of the other shooting gallery. You look over to a big door blocking your path and two pumpkin heads light up, one obviously missing from its spot. The Admin reappears and destroys the floor before summoning giant snow golems, one of which knocks Vos into the water revealed by the broken floor. He gets sucked away by a pipe to an unseen location. You and your group jump along the rubble of the floor and head for the door, but another golem appears, which you must defeat while Lukas and Radar hold off the others with bows and arrows. Upon killing the golem you get its head and place it in the door, allowing you to run ahead.

You meet up with the others in a room leading to other challenges, seeing Vos flowing through a pipe, and Stella in another. Then the admin appears and sends Radar flying into another room, into which you follow. The room has floating lava, along with many other aerial dangers that Radar is floating up too. Using the help of a Shulker attack, you float up after Radar and attempt to fly over to a door, but are knocked back into the ground, Radar falling into the water and being sucked up by a pipe. This challenge is impossible, so you decide to find another way. Upon hearing Lluna’s grunt, you break through the wall it came from, leading to a chamber that once floating up to, you can see the clock. On your way up you see Radar and Stella trapped in ice, who then direct your sight over to mobs that are a mix of a creeper and an enderman. There are dozens of them. You are given the choice to have Petra or Jack get the clock. Have Petra get the clock, as you know her and her skillset better. Lluna abandons Stella as you go to rescue Radar. You are given the choice to save Stella or not, and you should, as her trust is something you’ll need down the line. You all build up to the clock, which Petra destroys after setting it to day again. Lukas wants to escape, however Jack needs to find Vos. Lukas and Radar leave while you find Vos. However Vos was never Vos. Vos died in the temple a while ago. The Vos you met was secretly the Admin, who is very upset you cheated, and takes the gauntlet and puts it on Petra, as she got the clock. He then zaps you away, never to be seen again.

Episode 3: Jailhouse Block

You wake up in a prison uniform, missing your stuff, at the very bottom of the world, and are told to walk to the check in zone by an intercom. After getting chased by what seems to be a robot the size of a golem, which chases you over to a man who welcomes you to the Sunshine Institute, a place where the Admin sends people who disagree with him or cause him problems. The man is the warden, and as he leads you through the institute, Jack appears and helps you knock the robot and Warden down. You and Jack get out of the building and

begin to run from the guards posted on the outside. You run into a maze, known as the Burrows, and attempt to escape. Robots jump down from the walls and keep up the chase. You climb up onto the top of the walls and see that the maze spreads for miles. Before you can even continue, robots scoop you both up and carry you back to the Warden.

You are brought to the Warden’s office where he orders you to shut his door. You should do this because you need to pretend that you’re going to listen. The Warden reveals the Admin sent Radar and Nurm to make sure that you and Jack listen to the rules. The Warden brings up Radar and places him in a device that suffocates him. The Warden then offers for you to join the associates, also known as the guards, to save Radar’s life. Take this deal, as it will give you more leeway around the institute, and cease Radar’s pain. Stella, who is also now an associate , walks in to bring you and Radar to a place called the Mush Room, the only place where guests, the inmates, can get food. But they have to fight for it. Radar will be unable to get anything so you decide to try and make him some cookies. Once you collect cocoa beans from another associate you can go over to a guest and get some wheat to make cookies. An inmate tries to attack you but is brought down a level in the institute to a place called the zombie mines. After giving Radar a cookie and seeing his new “tougher” side, alarms start blaring. Inmates are shuffled off to cells since someone called Prisoner X is attempting to escape. As you all get into a cell Jack starts to talk about who Prisoner X allegedly is. Someone who knows their way through the maze outside. They’re kept in Cell Block X. You decide to build your way up by trying to out a suspicious inmate, Oxblood, the one who gave you the wheat earlier. You find a Mooshroom, a cow with mushrooms growing out of it, which is contraband. The Warden demands you shear the Mooshroom, turning it into a normal cow. The cow won’t die, so you must do this to keep up appearances. Afterwards, the Warden has Stella escort you down a level to the zombie mines.

Stella reveals that Prisoner X’s cell is through a gate in the zombie mines. There’s no way in since you need random items to place into the item slots controlling the door, and only the Warden and Admin have the right items. Jack, Nurm, and Radar get themselves sent down to the zombie mines so they can help you, and point you in the direction of Stella, who has a full inventory that you could maybe open the door with. You go over and ask her for stuff to make a lever with. While originally she refuses, after some convincing, she’ll ask you to help her escape. Agree with her. She’s also been forced to work down here. Once you make the lever you head out to the gate and open it up, however everyone disappears once the Admin shows up. Petra is now dressed in his colors and points her sword at you. The Admin, after turning the Warden back into an inmate, creates an arena for you and Petra. Petra and you come up with a plan to attack the Admin instead. In his rage he decides to let the institute burn, with everyone inside. He takes your form and disappears with the gauntlet and Stella. You, Lluna and Nurm head into Cell Block X and find Prisoner X. She tells you the Admin’s name is Romeo and she was once his friend. She agrees to help you since she hates Romeo and tells you her name, Xara, however her cell is special. Someone has to stay in it, or it will blow up. Xara leaves her cell and you are given a choice. Leave Nurm, or leave Lluna. Nurm is willing to stay, but so is Lluna. Here, you should leave Nurm, as he will stay in place and will be able to get himself out of danger.

You, Xara, and Lluna meet up with the others and steal some weapons in the chaos that is the inmates’ rebellion. You all get outside but are cut off by the Warden. He threatens to blow you all up and reveals that Xara was once an admin before Romeo took her powers because she tried to destroy him. Xara

kills the Warden before he can blow everyone up. She leads you into the maze where as you go everyone is fighting back monsters. You and Xara build up to the top of the maze and she points you towards a tower before running off. After a short boss fight you are given the option to help Xara defend herself or leave her and head for the tower. You should go help her, since she could refuse to help us if she gets away. After rescuing her she reveals there was a third admin that tried to help her take down Romeo. His name was Fred. Sadly, he was killed by Romeo in said fight. Once you all reach the tower, Xara explains that it can lead you down and find what Fred discovered that can defeat Romeo. Once you all climb down, you see a whole other world, along with an enderman the size of several buildings. It looks at you before it all cuts to black.

Episode 4: Below the Bedrock

As you and your group look out over the odd world, Xara explains what it is. It’s the first world, the one that her, Fred, and Romeo built together. Romeo bedrocked over it to build a new world. The giant enderman then notices you and you all hide in the room where Fred was murdered. As the enderman chases after you, you and your group run through the old building and out into the desert. As you do, you notice a person off in the distance, however nobody else sees them. Xara leads the group to her old city, the Oasis, which is in disrepair. Xara looks around and discovers her bed is missing and explains that she wasn’t able to sleep while in the Sunshine institute. Romeo ruined the last thing that was whole for her. She then shows you a portal that once you place an item in an item frame it can take you wherever you need to go, and she sends you on your way to Fred’s old town for the weapon he discovered to defeat Romeo, because he said he kept it at home. She also adds if you find an item from the surface it will be able to take you back up.

As you head to Fred’s town, called Fred’s Keep, you and Jack get cut off from the others and end up dangling off a cliff. A group of raiders pass by and offer help if you hand over your sword. With Jack’s encouragement, refuse the deal. It causes Jack to fall, however you climb up and meet up with the others and tell them what happened to Jack. The group is very upset but carries on. Once at Fred’s Keep, some of the civilians begin to freak out since you’re outsiders. There, a woman called Binta explains a trivia contest that allows the winner to stay in Fred’s cabin. It’s the only way to get inside to look for the weapon. You can go around and help the people for Fred facts so you can win against the champion. You can technically fail the competition, however you shouldn’t as you really need to get inside. You should give the champion Fred’s pajamas as they matter much more to him than you. Once inside the cabin you start looking around. You find a secret basement where Fred left a book detailing his and Xara’s falling out with Romeo and how he wishes they just stayed in their old cabin. Their home. You see a map detailing the admins’ towns, but no mention of a cabin.

Once you explain this to Binta, she asks you to help Fred’s people to the surface. Agree to this, as these people can’t survive down here much longer. Binta then hands over her compass, a gift from Fred that’s supposed to lead home. She tried to follow it once, but was stopped at the gates of Romeoburg, Romeo’s town, and scared off by their army. Your group heads to Romeoburg via a minecart track before being stopped. A masked ninja attacks you but you manage to knock them to the ground. The ninja then reveals their identity. Ivor. Ivor explains that Romeo has been pretending to be you, even saying he defeated the admin and gained his powers. Ivor suspected this wasn’t the real Jesse and decided to test you. Ivor also says Romeo made the old Order of the Stone amulet track

you. You take the amulet so you can put it in the portal and send Ivor back with a fake story to tell Romeo.

Once at the gates of Romeoburg there are two people at the top, threatening you with their army. However the sounds of the army suddenly stop before restarting again. The people on the wall are using an audio disk. The guards explain they’re trying to keep everyone out of a building called Romeo’s challenge. They let you in however for the price of a scary build. They then give you some armor and weapons before letting you, Petra, and Radar inside. The challenge is fighting waves of mobs, however Radar goes and messes with the machine that creates the mobs to speed it up. This leads to a boss fight with a giant lava golem that you defeat. Once you do you enter a garden with a cabin. While Radar rests with Lluna, you and Petra head inside. While inside you and Petra have a heart to heart about her feeling alone being scared to end up separated like the admins, and how she doesn’t want to stay at Beacontown forever. Afterwards you solve a quick puzzle using the admins beds, find a book holding the key to defeating Romeo, the code “#POTATO451.” After quickly collecting Xara’s bed you head back to the Oasis and set off some fireworks for Fred’s people to come meet up with you. You also give Xara Fred’s journal that holds the code. You give Xara her bed, which takes her out of her revenge fueled rant against Romeo. She informs you it’s a code for something called the Primary terminal. It’s then the giant enderman attacks. While Xara defends you from other mobs, you try to outrun it, causing yourself to trip. Jack, who’s revealed to still be alive, catches you. You are then given a choice. Leave Fred’s people behind, or trust Radar to handle the giant enderman alone. Trust Radar. If you don’t, many more will die or be stuck down here. He’s proven himself, he can do this. You lead everyone through the portal, which leads to the old Order of the Stone’s temple. From a distance, you can see Beacontown lighting off fireworks near its brand new floating tower.

Episode 5: Above and Beyond

You, Jack, Lluna, Petra, and Binta go through some tunnels that connect up to the mine in Beacontown, allowing you to sneak in. The town has completely changed, with banners of Romeo as Jesse everywhere, lava flowing freely, and a startling lack of civilians. Jack suggests heading to his shop for supplies, but you have to hide once you see Romeo walking with Stella, Axel and Olivia. When Olivia suggests heading back to her town, Romeo opens up the front gates to reveal Champion City. He then promptly blows it up. Stella is crushed. You take this opportunity to grab Olivia and Axel and head into Jack’s shop. While looking around you discover an elytra. You then hear a sound, which you discover is Nurm. Ivor appears again and explains he went back and rescued him. Jack begins freaking out because he is a huge Ivor fan and asks you for advice, just like Petra earlier on. Tell him to be himself. Ivor then quickly explains that yes, the terminal is inside the tower, but it’s guarded. However you already have a plan. While Romeo is giving his speech, we sneak over to Stella to get staff member uniforms, then we go backstage to collect fireworks that can be used with the elytra to fly up to the tower, where then water can be dropped down the side so the others can swim up.

You go out to look for Stella, finding Nell along the way. Romeo had built over their original statue, however you should leave it be because any change could put Nell in danger. It’s then you finally find Stella. She lets you take the uniforms. Once Romeo’s speech begins you, Petra, Binta and Jack head backstage and look for fireworks and a bucket of water. Once the fireworks are crafted and Binta gets back with the water, you sneak up to the tower during the giant firework finale of the speech. You dump the water so Petra and Jack

can get up with you. Inside the tower you pass through a cellblock and several of your citizens and friends, including Lukas, come out and surround you. They are convinced you’re Romeo, who they think is you turned against them. After some convincing, they let you choose some armor and you head up to look for the terminal. You and the civilians charge up and find Romeo. You can either talk to him or charge. Try to talk to him, as most of this army you’ve assembled aren’t even fighters. Romeo teleports them away leaving only you and him. He returns to his true form and begins to lament about how your people kept asking him to do things for them rather than just listening to him talk. After you two finish your talk, Romeo decides to bedrock over this world for a new one before disappearing. The sky starts getting covered with floating bedrock, already blocking out some light.

Your friends run back into the room and follow you up the stairs, Lukas getting cut off. You, Petra, and Jack see a portal and jump into it, leading you into the terminal space, home of the primary terminal. Inside, you find all of Romeo’s creations. After some walking you find the terminal and punch in the code. Behind you, a hologram of Fred begins to deliver a message to Xara about a gauntlet he hid in the pedestal that’s projecting him. He says it will remove Romeo’s powers. Romeo appears and you hit him with the weapon, a golden gauntlet, which affects his powers. This issues a boss fight where he shifts through all his forms, including one of Petra, as you attack him with your gauntlet. Once hit enough times, Romeo is knocked to the ground, now human. Due to his lack of power, the terminal space begins to collapse. You are given the choice to save Romeo, or leave him. You should save him. The goal of these guides is to save as many lives as possible, including Romeo’s. You all run through the terminal space, the giant colossus attacking you as you go. Before it can smash you, Radar shows up, leading the giant enderman into the terminal space. The enderman attacks the colossus, giving your group enough time to escape. Once back to your world, the bedrock begins to disappear. Romeo resolves to go back under the bedrock to try and fix what he’s done.

Some time later, Beacontown is back to thriving. Ivor tells you that he’s going to look for his old friends so he’s going to leave Beacontown for a bit. Radar has been leading the charge in repairing the city. Stella ends your rivalry and decides to stay to help Beacontown. Petra decides to leave Beacontown for adventure, while Lukas decides to stay and give up adventure for the time being. You all have a group hug and promise to stay friends forever, even if you never see each other again. Olivia and Axel head back off to their own lives and cities while you’re left with Petra and Lukas. Here, you are given your final choice, stay in Beacontown, or leave with Petra.

This is where I leave you. Will your Jesse stay and be the leader of Beacontown, receiving letters that hint towards a redemption for Aiden, and a threat from the White Pumpkin, or will your Jesse travel the world with Petra, and maybe never return to Beacontown? I can’t say. That’s your choice. This entire story has been your choice, I just wanted to help you. I hope you enjoyed the part you had to play in Jesse’s story. It’s over now. However, there are two other stories you could experience. I’ll be there to guide you through the dark city where crime is rampant, and a single man can protect it. With your help of course.

This game series adapts to the choices you make. The story is tailored by how you play.

Looking for new anime?

Since COVID anime has become increasingly more popular! This is both a good and bad thing for anime viewers because we are getting some new amazing animes but we are also getting some terrible, cash grab animes. One example of this is the new anime “Solo Leveling” that came out, it was great. Some people say it’s overrated but personally I think it was really good and easy to understand for new anime watchers. The double edged sword that comes with amazing animes are the bad ones, for example, “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” this is a real anime surprisingly, I think it is just one big cash grab but some people like it due to the out of this world experience of becoming a vending machine, somehow it was popular enough to get a second season, coming out this summer.

If you are a new or even old anime watcher looking for some bangers to watch, I have some new and old ones to recommend!

If you want to watch a banger romance anime, Horimiya is a great pick! They are a duo of highschoolers, Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, who learn more about each other and better themselves for one another.

If you want a Sci-Fi anime with slapstick humor but a slight edge, Kaiju no.8 is absolute cinema, in a world where otherworldly monsters become a everyday thing, the main character Kafka Hibino strived to join the defence force to catch up to his childhood best friend Mina Ashiro! I’m going to let you figure out the rest of the details because it’s fun to watch, learn and figure out what’s happening!

The last anime I’m going to recommend is “BOFURI; I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defence”. It is a wholesome fantasy anime that is all fluff. The main character, who goes by her game name Maple, plays Japan’s most popular VrMMO with her best friend. She is afraid of getting hurt though so her solution? Putting all her skill points into her defence!
