• Born in Chicago • Began her military career in 1994 at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. • Commissioned as a Navy Lieutenant on May 15, 1998. • Completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency training at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California in June of 2001. • In 2003, she completed her Adult Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. • She has an interest in cardiovascular imaging, with board certifications in Nuclear Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, and Coronary CT Angiography. • Captain Aslam’s awards include a Joint Service Commendation Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and two Army Achievement Medals. 8
