We asked Rodney a few questions:
FMIC: What has been the most significant change or obstacle in truck driving compared to 20 years ago? Rodney: Increased traffic on rural and interstate roads, more aggressive vehicle drivers, and tailgating issues. FMIC: What do you like about driving? Rodney: Traveling and seeing different locations. FMIC: What do you dislike about driving? Rodney: Aggressive drivers and increase in traffic flow. FMIC: What do you think has helped you be successful in driving? Rodney: Practicing safe driving habits, making smart driving choices, and obeying traffic laws. FMIC: What tips would you give to drivers that are just starting their careers? Rodney: Drive defensively, always lookout for other drivers, observe traffic signs, and obey speed limit requirements.
FMIC TRUCKING Spotlight We are pleased to highlight the accomplishments of our policyholder A & K Construction out of North Carolina who has been a Forestry Mutual Insurance Company policyholder since November 2012. We are spotlighting their employee Rodney, “Slider” Honeycutt. Phillip Smith, owner of A & K Construction, tells us that Rodney is “one of the best drivers that A & K Construction has ever employed. He always arrives to work on time at any

FMIC: How do you define success? Rodney: By driving your very best every day and obeying speed limits. FMIC: What are your hobbies/ activities outside of work? Rodney: Mountain biking, weight training, and woodworking. FMIC: What’s something about you that not many people know? Rodney: I have a very good sense of humor.
