APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
✓ Educated to HND/Degree level or equivalent experience in sport / leisure management or development. (Essential).
Knowledge
✓ A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of sports development, sustainable sports facility management and financial management. (Essential).
✓ An excellent understanding of the operations, requirements and challenges faced by grassroots sports organisations, community sport/ leisure facilities, and the voluntary sector. (Essential).
✓ A knowledge of monitoring and evaluation processes, including how to creatively resolve issues that occur to ensure anticipated outcomes are achieved. (Essential).
✓ Working knowledge of different project management techniques and an ability to flexibly apply these in a practical manner to a dynamic and evolving role. (Desirable)
✓ Knowledge of how charities operate and understanding of the typical systems, policies and procedures used in company governance. (Desirable).
✓ Knowledge of booking systems used by facilities across the sport and leisure sector. (Desirable).
Experience
✓ Experience of community engagement leading to co-designing sustainable participation programmes for sport, health and/or recreation, working with both sporting and non-sporting organisations and agencies to deliver successful outcomes. (Essential).
✓ Experience providing an advisory or consultative service in either sports development, community facility development or a similar voluntary sector organisation. (Essential).
✓ Experience of financial and performance monitoring of an activity, project or operation. (Essential).
✓ Track record of building and maintaining highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure that their needs and requirements are considered and aligned to strategic objectives. (Essential).
✓ Extensive experience in leading meetings and stakeholder groups and demonstrated ability to build consensus and earn confidence in proposals. (Essential).
