May we wish you all in hospitality, whether pubs, restaurants, hotels, garden centres or golf clubs, a most successful and profitable run up to Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Take special care of those with the most disposable income, that is the demographic generation who are most likely to eat out more regularly and to encourage them to return during the quiet months leading up to Easter. Us Brits are not good at complaining, we just don’t return.
So, as competition becomes fierce in the coming months, customers will be returning to those who offer a quality menu, presentation and especially service, from experience, sadly lacking in some establishments. We at Foodcare may not be the cheapest, but we benefit from customer referrals who return because of our knowledge and most important personal service.

CONGRATULATIONS IDDSI CARE CHEF WINNERS

Well done to all the chefs who took part in Quantum Care’s regional meetings to show off their skills in producing textured modified meals. And in no particular order the winners are; Willow Court, Belmont View, Courtland Lodge, Vesta Lodge.
It was an honour and privilege to be invited as guest judge to participate in this event. Each entry was scored based on presentation, contrast of colour, reflecting the food type, innovation, and the food conforming to IDDSI Criteria. There were excellent entries and judging was tough.
Menus included shepherd’s pie, poached pear, steak and chips, chocolate cake, prawn vol au vent, spaghetti bolognaise, Eton mess, chicken
fricassee, blueberry cheesecake, scones and so much more, certainly stimulating my appetite from the aromas and presentation.
It was an amazing experience over the two days, seeing the staff enthusiasm, energy and creativity was a real highlight for me.
Each winner will be joining me for a fun interactive day at the NACC South East Winter Seminar “Come Cook With Us At Billingsgate Market” on the 28th of November, where we will all be getting hands on in the kitchen cooking in three different master classes.
