The museums in Telemark show fine examples of the strong rose painting tradition. In Heddal Bygdetun and Telemark Museum you can see entire rooms decorated with rose painting. Telemark is a food county with many local producers; from cured meat and flat bread to goat cheese, beer and apple cider. The county’s big interest in food has resulted in “Mersmak”, an annual food festival in Skien. Here you can taste and buy locally produced food.
