Where Young Dreams Take Flight! The Fargo Air Museum is dedicated to preserving the rich history of both civilian and military aviation. "It is a spectacular place for kids, not just to tour but education-wise," Dave Mohn, Fargo Air Museum's Volunteer Education Coordinator, said. "The goal for the STEAM class is a display for the Museum. Kids are able to do projects for their community and it really adds value. We have lots of interest from other museums about our education programs. I've been doing the monthly camp since 2016 and have the topics on a three-year rotation. They have a lot of diversity within aviation in hopes kids will stick with aviation or be able to relate the topics in camps to their chosen careers."

Youth Aviation Camp
•Deep Dive into Aviation: This isn't just any camp; it's an advanced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) camp that delves deeper into aviation topics covered in the Youth Aviation Camp.
While STEM focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, STEAM goes a step further by integrating arts into the mix. It's not just about learning; it's about connecting, innovating, and thinking outside the box. At the Fargo Air Museum, STEAM education is all about removing limitations and replacing them with wonder, inquiry, and creativity.
•What's it about? This camp introduces youngsters to the fascinating world of aviation. From the basics of flight to the intricate workings of aircraft, this camp is a young aviator's dream come true. •Age Groups: The camp is split into two: •Junior Aviators (ages 6-10): These sessions happen once a month, with varying topics to keep things fresh and engaging. •Senior Aviators (ages 11-18): This is a two-part camp spread over two Saturdays in a month. The catch? You've got to register for the first to attend the second. And here's the cherry on top: completing both parts might qualify you for a Scout Merit Badge! •Cost: Hold onto your pilot hats, because this camp is FREE! This is all thanks to the generous grant funding from the North Dakota Aeronautics Association.
•Hands-On Fun: Campers get to tinker with materials, fostering skills essential for various careers in the aviation world. •Age Groups & Themes: •Junior Campers (ages 8-10): Offered twice a month, each camp brings a fresh topic to the table. •Senior Campers (ages 11-18): This camp runs once a month and has an exciting year-long theme. Every month presents a new challenge, emphasizing teamwork. And don't worry about missing a session; each camp picks up from where the last one left off.
Young Eagles Build Night: Pietenpol Workshop
•Cost: It's $20 for non-members and just $10 for members. And guess what? Scholarships are available!
•The Fargo Air Museum, in partnership with the local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), hosts the Young Eagles Build Night: Pietenpol Workshop, where participants learn about early aviation and get hands-on experience in building a real airplane. •When: This workshop is held monthly at the Fargo Air Museum, typically lasting for an hour from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM •Who: Participants aged 10-18 are welcome to join for free, and no prior experience is necessary to partake in this enriching experience.
