Simit Fresh Mediterranean, one of our food critic’s favorite restaurants of 2022, is swapping breakfast for dinner service with new hours from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Levantine fare from salads to stews and so many delectable dishes in between is fantastic. The mostly Mediterranean wine list is studded with hard-to-find hidden gems from ancient yet emerging regions including Turkey, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

“Brews for the Birds” is on tap at the Wonder Gardens Dec. 9 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Food trucks include Dudley’s Beachside BBQ, Eat Bold and Eazy Cheezy. Participating breweries and beverage sponsors are Abita, Bells, Cigar City Brewing, Cycle/Brew Hub, Flying Eagle Kombucha, Fort Myers Brewing, Keel Farms, Lagunitas, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, Tank Brewing, Terrapin and Walking Tree.

86-year-old botanic and zoological gardens as well as the nonprofit’s welcome center, gift shop, administrative offices and animal care kitchen, all remaining non-operational due to water and wind damage incurred by Hurricane Ian.
