The Toscana® breeding program

In breeding, we focus on plant quality, easy cultivation, outdoor performance and of course a beautiful palette of flower colours�

Breeding is a long process which requires dedication, expertise and eye for detail from our breeders�

Our breeding program offers added value right along the chain, from grower to consumer Drawing on feedback from growers and a continuous innovation process, we strive to further improve the quality of the different varieties and to expand the Toscana® series�

In the Galaxy series we have replaced the White� The improved one has more plant volume and therefore fits better in our most voluminous Zonal line In our important Dolce Vita series we have improved the Karen and Evi� Both varieties have a compacter and more round plant habit in line with the series�

A new introduction in this line is the Dolce Vita Helene pink with eye

This variety might replace the Claudio in the coming years�

The Castello series has been upgraded by adding Robiene ruby red�

This variety stands out by its nice round habit and dark red flower colour�

The upcoming Moonflair peltatum series has been updated by introducing improved versions of the Moonflair Burgundy and Moonflair Red� Again to bring these varieties more in line with the series�

About the Toscana® production

Toscana® is available as unrooted cuttings (URC) and as young plants� At our production locations in Ethiopia and Kenya we specialize in the URC production of Pelargonium� With a total of 37 hectares of well-equipped greenhouses, which are run by qualified and experienced staff, we supply from both locations a high production standard� This gives you the best quality against the lowest risk in supply change

Moreover, we think and act sustainably� Our production locations are MPS-A certified (Environmental Programme for Ornamental Horticulture), covering crop protection products, fertilisers, energy, water and waste� Neonicotinoids are banned and to combat the negative effects of crop protection products, we use organic variants and work with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) wherever possible
