This year, the 7th Annual Signature Gala will feature Ben Rector, the Oklahoma-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his sensational live performances and hit song, “Brand New.” You are sure to feel the power of his talents when hearing songs from his appropriately titled seventh fulllength album, Magic.

KEYBOARD CONVERSATIONS® WITH JEFFREY SIEGEL

Two decades spent crisscrossing the globe — playing to enthusiastic audiences from Sydney to San Francisco and Berlin to Beijing — have enabled France’s Paris Combo to create a unique, cosmopolitan sound, a fun-loving mix of swinging gypsy jazz, cabaret, French pop and Latino and Middle Eastern rhythms. MATHEMATICAL MYSTERIES From Northern Ireland comes a spectacular show where math, theatre and digital technology collide in an interactive performance. Danny Carmo thought school and, in particular, math wasn’t for him. He was more interested in dreaming about becoming a magician. But as he learned the tricks of the trade, he realized that math was not only essential… it was THE SECRET to the magic that he loved. “The pupils were mesmerized!” raved a third grade teacher. “Not only do they want to know how to do the magic tricks, they want to know how the math works.” Best for grades 2-6.

MARK HUMMEL’S 2019 SOUTHERN HARP BLOWOUT Mark Hummel’s 28th annual Blues Harmonica Blowout is a Southern Harp spectacular and, as always, his guests are stellar: Bobby Rush is a 2017 Grammy winner, Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, ten-time Blues Music Award winner, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, and Rolling Stone “King of the Chitlin’ Circuit” winner. Kenny Neal is a secondgeneration southern Louisiana bluesman, 2017 Grammy nominee and winner of two Blues Music Awards for his Bloodline CD. THE WIZARD OF OZ There truly is no place like home, as the national tour of the greatest family musical of all time makes its regional premiere. VOICE OF THE CELLO Dark, rich, and sonorous, and also bright, sweet, and expressive, the cello is the most versatile of instruments. In this perennial favorite concert, Sacramento Baroque Soloists’ cellists Michael Lawson and John Lutterman perform a selection of Baroque Cello Sonatas, accompanied by a continuo section of harpsichord, organ, and guitar.

Two distinct programs mark the 2019 return of the Russian National Ballet to Folsom. On Wednesday, the company of 50 exquisite dancers will twice perform Cinderella, a full-length ballet in two acts, with music by Prokofiev. MUSIC HEALS at the Harris Center is one of the many benefit concerts organized for the sole purpose of providing funds directly to the families that have endured the most destructive fire in California state history. The proceeds from this concert will be sent directly to the North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) in Chico. It all took off for Keb’ Mo’ in 1994 with the self-titled release under his newly coined Keb’ Mo’ moniker, and over the years he has proven that he is a musical force that defies typical genre labels. Album after album, 14 in total, garnered him four Grammy® awards and a producer/engineer/artist Grammy® Certificate for his track on the 2001 Country Album of the Year, the Hank Williams tribute Timeless. He has received 11 Grammy® nominations in total, including Country Song of the Year for “I Hope,” co-written with The Dixie Chicks, and three alone for his 2014 self-produced release BLUESAmericana, including Americana Album of the Year. RIDERS IN THE SKY 40TH ANNIVERSARY Beginning each performance with their trademark greeting, “Mighty fine and a great big Western ‘Howdy,’ all you buckaroos and buckarettes,” Riders in the Sky simultaneously pays tribute to and pokes gentle fun at the classic cowboy songs of the 1930s and ‘40s, particularly the work of the Sons of the Pioneers, Roy Rogers, and Gene Autry. Riders in the Sky is made up of lead singer Ranger Doug (born Douglas B. Green), Woody Paul (born Paul Chrisman) on fiddle and vocals, Too Slim (string bass and guitar), and since the mid-’90s, “Cowpolka King” Joey Miskulin on accordion.

SUMMER SHOWCASE 2019 Malko Performing Arts Academy closes out the season with dancing at its best. From the youngest students to the most advanced competitive couples, MPAA’s dancers will wow you with a variety of ballroom, Latin and theatrical numbers. Enjoy romantic waltzes, tangos and rumbas, fiery cha cha chas and jives to name a few — with Lindy Hop, boogie boogie and disco mixed in for fun. Wheelchair seating is available in all venues. Portable wireless listening devices are available with a small, refundable deposit or driver’s license. CHILDREN All patrons are required to have a ticket, including youngsters sitting on laps. PARKING Ample parking is available in Lots C and D on the northwest side of the Folsom Lake College campus near the Harris Center. The Los Rios Police enforce parking regulations 7 days a week/ 24-hours a day. Parking permits are required for all events and are issued automatically with your ticket order. Permits are not provided for free events. Accessible parking is available for which vehicles must display both a valid accessible placard/license plate issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles AND a campus parking permit issued by the Harris Center.
