The Multifunctional Art Housing concept narrative

MASTER SITE PLAN

Our project is designed for local artists to live in. It needs to be specially designed for artists to live in apartments and provide public spaces mainly including exhibition space and retail space. So we need to study and explore the excess and isolation of housing and public areas. My design is based on the park designed by our group. I was mainly concerned with the view angles from the apartment buildings and the park, and the circulation of people into the public space.

First of all, in my design, all the space on the first floor is used for retail space and exhibition space, as well as connected outdoor space facing the public.

The second floor is most of the residential area, where different types of buildings are placed crosswise to make people's lives more convenient and communicate. and a major residents-only outdoor event space.

The third floor is half of the residential space and a loft that combines the kitchen and living room and is only open to residents. Most balconies of residential buildings face the park. These areas offer better views of the scenery. The design of the floors also increases incrementally around the hole in the middle.

Allowing people to feel the increase in height and scenic viewing area.

SECTION PERSPECTIVE

concept narrative The site I chose is located on the left side of Chewacla Park, beside the 85 highway junction. I chose this area because it has a separate area with no other buildings around it, which is perfect for creating your own green space.

And on the left side near the sports center, above the hotel and car sales center. In addition, people from Auburn and Tuskegee on their way to auburn pass through this area. So there's a lot of traffic and a lot of movement around the place, especially on game day. Building a green nature center here would be a great way to spread Alabama-specific green knowledge. In addition, most of the below are residential areas, which can promote green knowledge and improve the well-being of residents!

AIA COTE 10 Integration My project will give organized consideration to the overall HVAC, structure, lighting, exterior envelope and other components of the facility with the ultimate goal of reducing the overall environment and project energy, material and time consumption to meet detailed performance specifications.

Equitable Community My project on Equitable communities takes into account the elements of a healthy, equitable community and demonstrates the elements of a community -- such as nearby living conditions (hotels nearby), parks (sports centers), quality schools (Auburn University), a thriving economy (car sales centers), environmental quality (Chawacla), access to healthy food (Green house) and the connected transportation system (at the entrance and exit of Highway 85).

Ecosystem The ecosystem of my project is reflected in the design of the greenhouse and surrounding environment and the site walk, as well as the use of outdoor space. It enhances the greenery and scenery of the environment while preserving the original grove and creating a small garden around it.

Water The use of water in my project is embodied in the application of slope Angle to the roof of the main building to complete the collection of rainwater, and the establishment of rainwater collectors and storage, and finally the use of water in the greenhouse and the surrounding environment greening.

Economy My project economics is embodied in the economical use of scarce resources throughout the life cycle of a building. The most "economical" buildings provide the required value at the lowest cost.

The three key words in this subject are life cycle, value and cost. Besides the value of the building itself, it can also promote the local surrounding economy. For example, new arrivals will visit it on game day.

Energy My project is related to energy in buildings, embodied in the energy used in buildings for heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation. This energy consumption is independent of the function and use of the building. Using related energy means relying on the energy used by buildings.

Well-Being My project to build overall happiness requires people to function satisfactorily in terms of happiness, sense of experience, social networks, life purpose and community. Having a growth mindset or positive attitude can help a person build other happiness skills more easily.

Resources The Resources of my project are reflected in the building materials, which are intended to be green, environ mentally friendly and renewable. Many naturally occurring substances, such as clay, rocks, sand, wood, even twigs and leaves, wood solar energy, wind energy, rain energy and so on.

concept narrative

First of all, when I analyzed the site, I knew that the project was in a big forest. My main idea was that my building needed to have an environmental element, so I was going to use a special structure -- a tree-structure column.

And the design needs to work around the terrain line, for example with the movement inside the building can feel the elevation of the terrain changes.

Therefore, I began to think and design from the topographic aspect, so the buildings designed by my project rose step by step with the height of the terrain.

I want people to feel the relationship between the forest and the building. For example, when people visit, they can see the appearance and features of the building, but there are trees between the road and the building to separate them.

Secondly, I think this project should make use of the available space between the trees to protect the environment as much as possible and reduce the number of trees cut down. Finally, the project needs to be designed to be accessible as well.
