Congratulations to Andy Lawrence, president of the Tennessee Fisher House, for being a November honoree for the Brentwood Home Page/ Puffy Muffin Community Hero. Andy has been working with her local community in Murfreesboro to raise funds and awareness for a Fisher House at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. The Foundation is incredibly proud of her dedication to the military. Congratulations, Andy.
Fisher House Connecticut is busy working on several ventures towards building Connecticut’s first Fisher House at the West Haven VA Medical Center. This year, they have continued a successful campaign with ShopRite, which last year resulted in a $58,000 donation from Harry Garafalo, owner of four ShopRite stores in Connecticut (pictured on the right below with director Kevin E.Creed at left).
Ava and Olivia are members of the Colonel Return Jonathan Meigs Children of the American Revolution Chapter in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and have been making presentations, campaigning to raise funds for the Tennessee Fisher House Foundation. The two made their first presentation to their own CAR Chapter in January 2012. Since that time, they have made presentations to other chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

On January 16, 2013 Fisher House Southern California, Inc. was incorporated. One hundred people attended a kickoff event on January 31 for local community, business and veteran group leaders to introduce the Fisher House effort for the VA Long Beach Medical Center campus. Isabel Duff, director of the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Cindy Campbell, vice president for media relations of Fisher House Foundation and Jennifer Koget, VA program manager for Fisher House were all in attendance. Steve Kuykendall, President/CEO, Fisher House Southern California, Inc. introduced the board and gave a brief overview of the plan for the facility.
Soccer superstar David Beckham visited the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in January and signed a Fisher House UK shirt. Thanks for the support David.
