In the wake of 2019’s rainy winter, spring arrived slowly in Sonoma County. Thanks to months of moisture, vines awoke refreshed from their rest, taking advantage of rehydrated soils after years of drought. The summer was temperate and cool, speckled with short durations of high heat but nothing too extreme. These pleasant conditions rolled into late September, resulting in outstanding flavor development and balanced elements.

Region

Sonoma County sets the stage for fine wine production by offering an immense diversity of microclimates and soil types, each presenting a vital niche for the region’s signature varieties to thrive. Chardonnay dominates plantings. This adaptable grape variety flourishes from foggy coastlines to warm inland valleys, producing wines ranging from crisp and citrus-driven, vibrant and tropical, to textural and oaked.

Sonoma’s winemakers are inspired by this natural versatility, creating wines that capture the distinct expression of their origin and style.

Tasting notes

Our tantalizing Chardonnay begins with an enticing aromatic bouquet of candied fruit, vanilla and—if decanted—subtle hints of caramelized popcorn. Though weighty and lush, the palate offers a beautiful undercurrent of crisp acidic textures, creating a satisfyingly juicy mouthfeel. Ripe lemon flavors lead to a medley of plump orchard fruit featuring pear and yellow peach. The finish is silky smooth and long-lasting, carrying you from sip to sip.
