ACB seizes `8.10 lakh from Addl Chief Engineer’s car

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday night recovered Rs 8.10 lakhs cash from the possession of an additional chief engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). ACB ASP Vijay Swarnakar informed that Additional Chief Engineer Mahesh Jangid was travelling to Jaipur with the amount of huge commission.

“Based on specific information, police barricading was done and the accused SUV was stopped at a checkpoint.

The ACB on Saturday arrested a patwari in Dholpur while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000. Officials told, the patwari, Sushil Kumar, was posted in the Maloni Khurd gram panchayat in Sapau of Dholpur district. “The accused Sushil Kumar had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant to update the revenue record. A trap was laid on Saturday during which the accused was caught redhanded. Searches are being carried out at the premises of accused and he will be produced before a court on Wednesday,” police said.

A delegation of ward councillors met cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas at his residence on Saturday. “Congress has its board in Jaipur heritage municipal corporation. All councillors are members of Congress family. It is our responsibility to get their work done and get them the respect they want. We are holding a meeting to address their issues,” minister Khachariyawas said.

Meanwhile, Rajendra Verma said that he did not misbehave with anyone, but some councillor misbehaved with him. He said the file which they wanted him to sign is pending decision with a high-level committee and will be signed after the committee gives decision.
