AN ENDURING VISION: FAITH IN ACTION
FROM THE PASTOR
God is good! Thanks to his provision and the generosity of several, we are not even halfway through our Enduring Vision Campaign emphasis, but yet the work is ahead of schedule and almost all the money needed has either been given or pledged! But there is still more to be done. Wouldn’t it be amazing if the entire renovation project was completed and paid for without having to borrow anything, and especially in this economy? That’s exactly how we are praying and exactly the kind of thing our

God does! But it will also require his people to have faith and be diligent in generosity and giving. If you have not yet pledged to this campaign, we encourage you to take some time to pray and think about your commitment to it. God has promised to abundantly bless those who trust him and give generously with a cheerful heart (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). So will you give the Lord some elbow room in your heart and trust him to provide what you need and so that you can give for the carrying on of his work?
THE POINT IS THIS: WHOEVER SOWS SPARINGLY WILL ALSO REAP SPARINGLY, AND WHOEVER SOWS BOUNTIFULLY WILL ALSO REAP BOUNTIFULLY. EACH ONE MUST GIVE AS HE HAS DECIDED IN HIS HEART, NOT RELUCTANTLY OR UNDER COMPULSION, FOR GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER. AND GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND TO YOU, SO THAT HAVING ALL SUFFICIENCY IN ALL THINGS AT ALL TIMES, YOU MAY ABOUND IN EVERY GOOD WORK.
TESTIMONY OF FAITHFULNESS
LINDA FAUST
To say God has been so good to me over and over is an understatement. Twenty one years ago I was approached by the City Manager for the City of Brundidge and asked if I was interested in changing jobs. My first thought was no. He wanted to meet with me and tell me what he could offer. Out of courtesy, I agreed. We met and I left knowing his offer was much less than I was making and I could not provide for my family. I did tell him I would let him know my decision in two weeks. Went home told God I would decline the offer the next day. Went to work early the next morning and within a matter of minutes I was in a pool of tears. God brought me to my knees, and I knew what he was telling me. I went straight to Brundidge and accepted the job. I remember getting my first check thinking, what have I done. God put me where I needed to be and has blessed me everyday since.
Now, as we embark on the Enduring Vision Campaign, off the top of my head decided what I wanted to give. A few weeks passed and I received the first brochure in the mail and as I was reading it the Holy Spirit came over me so vividly telling me “I want you to give sacrificially from your heart”. Will I listen? You bet. God has always been faithful to me and I no doubt he always will.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

WOMEN FELLOWSHIP OVER BOWLING
Last week, the FBC Ministry to Women gathered at Goodtimes Bowling in Troy for an evening of fellowship. With more than 40 years between the youngest bowler and the most experienced bowler, there wasn’t 40 seconds of silence between the teams. The ladies enjoyed cheering each other on with a healthy dose of competition. Several coaching techniques were demonstrated, and some were just trying to not land their ball in the gutter. This event was a reminder of the goodness of God to give us a church family full of multi-generational Christians to enjoy life with. The Ministry to Women is led by Shondra Whitaker and aims to connect women through Bible study, teaching and fellowship.
On Sunday, September 1, Blake Diamond gave an update on current commitments to the An Enduring Vision: Faith in Action campaign. He announced that the commitment team would begin visiting members to help answer any questions about the campaign or to assist in access to and submission of commitment cards.
