On December 15, 2021, units operated at a multi-vehicle MVA with entrapment in Berks County on Interstate 78 near the Route 61 interchange. Two people were killed in the crash which involved four vehicles. The driver of an empty school bus did not see traffic stopped in a construction zone and hit a car, causing it to become lodged beneath the bus, the Pennsylvania State Police said. The bus then hit another car, pushing it into a tractor-trailer, police said. Units from Hamburg, Shoemakersville, Shartlesville, Schuylkill, Orwisburg, Schuylkill Valley, Mulhenburg and Western Berks operated for several hours. - Fire News photo by Jarrod Emes, Chief 61
