María Emilia Lopez Merchan

María Emilia Lopez Merchan was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She studied Psycho pedagogy and Fine Arts at the Cristobal Rojas School of Arts, which lead her to develop the area of ​​children’s creativity in her career. Since 1989 she has taken poetry courses with Cecilia Ortiz, Yolanda Pantin, Rafael Cadenas, Alfredo Silva Estrada and Belkis Arredondo. She has published several poems as well as children’s stories.

The effervescent form which I inhabit Is a new home It shrouds me in It makes me forget to return to the method that I used to keep my wrapper

Vuelve mensajero trae tu báculo de cintas blancas descorre el velo que tengo mirada de lago y mis días pasan Imperturbables

Come back messanger and bring your stick of white ribbons draw back the veil because I have lake gaze and my days pass away Unruffled

Tengo el atributo de las hadas su negación del número para no contar el tiempo el anillo al otro mundo por eso no recuerdas mi nombre por eso llegas a la superficie

I have the fairy´s attribute to ignore numbers in order to dispense with time and the ring to the other world for that reason you don´t remember my name for that reason you only reach the surface
