THE HOP HOUSE

“A wonderful village centre setting, yet with excellent privacy, this unique contemporary house was constructed in the year 2000. With superb natural light, and a gorgeous terrace overlooking the beautiful garden, The Hop House is situated in one of Wiltshire’s most desirable villages.””

KEY FEATURES

Ground Floor:

On entering, one is immediately struck by the double-height ceilings with lantern roof above, flooding the hall with natural light. The attractive stone flooring has underfloor heating below. Steps lead down to a sizeable drawing room with excellent ceiling height again and double doors out to the terrace. An attractive log burner with surround makes an attractive focal point. The kitchen and breakfast room benefit from a feature window, offering beautiful views onto the terrace and garden. The bespoke kitchen has been cleverly designed to include an island and a variety of built-in appliances. There’s ample space to dine, in addition to easy access to the terrace for al-fresco dining. Adjacent to the kitchen is the sitting room, which would also make a wonderful playroom, or a separate space for older children to relax, with French doors to the rear garden. A useful utility, WC and study complete the ground floor.

First Floor:

The galleried landing benefits from the lantern roof and is flooded with light. The main bedroom, which has fitted storage and a large en-suite with bath and separate shower, has access onto a private balcony, giving fabulous views out over the garden and beyond to Springs Hill. Bedroom two, which has an en-suite shower room, also benefits from access to a balcony and the remaining 3 bedrooms share the spacious main bathroom.

SELLER INSIGHT

What is your favourite room of the house and why?

The kitchen – I think it is the real heart of the home. The large window makes it a really sunny room, with easy access to the terrace and garden.

Who do you think would be the next ideal owner?

A family or couple who want to be in a great village with lots of amenities on the doorstep in a beautiful area.

What do you love most about the house and why?

The natural light is fantastic, and I have always been so happy here.

What do you love about the local community?

It’s a very active community, and there is always lots going on! With 2 great pubs, and many clubs and societies, plus the tennis club and Royal British Legion, there are many opportunities for the community to come together.

How easy is it to commute from here?

Very! The M4 is a short distance away giving easy access to London/ Bristol/Bath, plus trains from Swindon and Hungerford go direct to London Paddington and to the Westcountry.

What made you choose this property over others that were available at the time?

It’s in a great location – village centre but nice and tucked away, so the privacy is wonderful.
