My husband and I bought the flat before it had been built,” says the current owner of 7 Court House. “We viewed a show flat when on holiday in Tenby in 2012 and subsequently reserved our flat off plan. We always intended it to be a ‘bolt hole’ to relax in, and the car parking and lift were a must have for our changing needs. We loved the bright, spacious, airy rooms with floor to ceiling windows and fantastic views of the beach, sea and harbour, and beyond to Pendine Sands and The Gower peninsula.”

The owners were also keen to make the most of the opportunity to put their own stamp on the property. “The quality of the build and finish were superb, but we wanted to enhance the flat’s relationship to its coastal surroundings,” the owner says. “Before moving in, we contacted a local interior designer who suggested some alterations and designed mood boards for each individual room. We followed her ideas completely, basing the interiors on natural colours and the blues and yellows of the sea, sky and sun. She built out the wall to take the television, so that we could face the view at the same time as looking at the television. This built out wall incorporates a cupboard for the Sky box, DVD player etc., and all the wiring is hidden. She filled in the space between the pillars by the kitchen with glass shelves and another cupboard. This looks beautiful and also serves to hide the kitchen area a little so that it cannot be seen when you first walk into the living room. Later, in 2017/18, we converted the en suite bathroom to the main bedroom into a wet room suitable for a wheelchair user, including a spacious airing cupboard with radiator. We used the same tiles used in the other en suites, along with high quality fixtures and fittings.”

“I love everything about the flat,” the owner continues, “in particular the space, brightness and views in the living/dining/kitchen area; and waking up in the front bedroom to the sound of the waves. I find the flat light and cheerful and perfect for relaxing, and it is easy to keep clean and maintain. The large sash windows can be fully opened to make the most of the amazing ever-changing views of the sea and sky; and there are communal gardens at the front and back of the flat for all flat owners to use. As well as being a lovely place to escape to, the property is ideal for entertaining, with three double bedrooms, dining for six and an open plan dining/kitchen area with bar stools by the kitchen island. We have used the flat for family get togethers and celebrations, and it was a lovely place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.”

Besides the stunning sea views, the location of the property has much to offer in terms of activities and eateries to enjoy. “There are some great restaurants in Tenby and Saundersfoot,” says the owner, “including a fantastic fresh seafood kiosk on the harbour, especially the lobster rolls and crab sandwiches; afternoon tea at Penally Abbey; and lots of cafes and independent shops. There is always something to do here, from boat trips to the nearby islands or going out on the water with the sailing club; to visiting some of the great art galleries showing local artists’ work; singing with the Tenby Male Voice Choir at the church; tastings at Tenby brewery; and the unmissable Ironman weekend each September. Tenby itself is an unspoiled seaside town with an interesting history, fantastic coastal walks and spotless, large, beautiful beaches.*
