This detached late 1990’s Scandia Hus built 3/4 bedroom house has been remodelled and reconfigured by the current owners, which also involved adapting the original garage internally, for modern day living.

Extensively refurbished throughout the accommodation now flows with canopy entrance porch, entrance hall, cloakroom/shower room that facilitate the ground floor bedroom / snug, sitting room, kitchen/dinner and utility room. The reconfigured first floor has a further three bedrooms and family bathroom. Externally the original garage is now converted into a storeroom to the front and separate office to the rear which is ideal for those buyers who now find themselves working from home and require a separate facility away from the home to do so. Also to the front is a driveway for ample off street parking leading to a secluded front garden and to the rear is a landscaped garden. This unique and individual turnkey abode offers flexible accommodation in a sought after area close to Pontoise Park, duck ponds, nearby Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve and Sevenoaks Town Centre and all its amenities including Sevenoaks station.

Location

Sevenoaks is named after seven oak trees that were planted in Knowle Park on the edge of town in the Middle Ages. One of Britain’s most impressive stately homes is in the heart of Sevenoaks: the vast, enchanting National Trust property of Knole, a former Archbishop of Canterbury’s palace. Dating from the 1450s and famously sporting 365 rooms, 52 staircases and seven courtyards, here you’ll wander through exquisite galleries, past shimmering silver, atmospheric portraits and fine fabrics. Then head through the sunlit orangery and into a 1000-acre park dotted with gnarled trees and herds of deer. Sevenoaks has everything from busy markets to pretty streets to discover. There are restaurants, shops, pubs, a leisure centre and other places to visit in Sevenoaks, plus green spaces for getting outdoors and enjoying nature. A market was recorded here as early as the 13th century, and Sevenoaks School was founded in 1432. Southeastern, Southern and Thameslink operate trains in the Sevenoaks area. Services run into Charing Cross and London Victoria mainline stations. It takes less than 25 minutes to get from London Bridge to the centre of Sevenoaks. Sevenoaks district is served by the M25, M26 and M20, the A21, A25 and a web of hedge-lined country roads. You can be in the centre of Sevenoaks less than 10 minutes after leaving the M25.

Seller Insight

We fell in love with house the moment we saw it, but we knew it needed a lot of work. We decided against extending the house, and also that we wanted to keep some of the Scandi design feel. Only modernised. This is a bright house with big windows, letting in lots of light. We kept lots of wood in the property, to play against those windows and to honour that spacious Scandi feel. We also decided to landscape front and back to make use of the sun trap, and to provide our kids a flat space for kicking a ball (and for us to BBQ). This house is a great place for entertaining and has four carparking spaces too. The garage now homes an office for us to separate work/home time, and a good sized storage space for bikes, a freezer and gardening kit (plus a lot more). The surrounding area is beautiful, with walks from the door over to the Wildfowl reserve, and lots of play parks for the kids. The schools are brilliant here too, with Riverhead, Amherst and Trinity well in the catchment (and easily walkable). Nice parade of shops close by and a 20 minute walk through residential street to Sevenoaks town centre. Door to door into central London in 45 mins, walking to the station is a breeze from here.*
