They loved the traditional village, its convenient location, alongside its surrounding countryside and, on discovering this chocolate box cottage, their search for a new home was ended. The cottage was unnamed when the owners came to live here, but they were enthralled with the breathtaking, established, acers which give an amazing backdrop to the garden. On researching, they discovered that ‘buttonwood’ is an American name for acers; hence the name for the cottage. The garden is an absolute delight and has been professionally landscaped, providing several areas in which to sit and relax, listen to the birdsong, or the gentle sound of bubbling water from the feature in the pond. There is a much loved summer room, plus a productive vegetable plot, carefully concealed behind the acers.

The friendly village has a strong sense of community with many sociable events taking place. The local pub which serves excellent food is a friendly meeting place. There is a primary school in the village with transport to other schools being available locally. Quality supermarkets are located nearby, and Milton Keynes is very close. Road and rail links are excellent with the train journey from Northampton into Euston taking one hour. In addition, there are many interesting places to visit nearby, such Pitsford Reservoir and Brixworth Nature Reserve.

The house has now outgrown the requirements of the owners. They can feel justly proud of the love and care given by them to this special cottage of which they feel they have been custodians, but it is time for new owners to experience the joy of living here.*

The mainline station in Northampton is easily accessible with direct trains to Euston taking approximately 55 minutes, for road users the A14 connects to the M1.
