SELLER INSIGHT

What is your favourite room of the house and why?

The master bedroom for its amazing views and picturesque vistas. It changes every season and through day and night never fails to inspire and calm me.

Who do you think would be the next ideal owner?

I would love to see a family in the house. It is a safe and happy environment for children to play grow and explore safely. With room for ponies and animals an outdoors family could make the most amazing memories.

What do you love most about the house and why?

The peaceful retreat that it gives me and it has always been a happy house full of love and so much laughter.

What do you love about the local community?

Ramsbury is the most amazing village, close knit with people willing to help yet not intrusive. I have made the most dear friends young and old. Fabulous walks for my dogs, village shops and a fabulous pub to meet friends for dinner and drinks. Many clubs to join, all very welcoming and inclusive from tennis and bowls to WI, yoga and lunch club. The doctor’s surgery is amazing and consistently is rated the best in the area. Pre school and the primary school are rated outstanding by Ofsted and they feed into an outstanding secondary school in Marlborough (St John’s) or Marlborough college The children often walk escorted happily round the village, which is a joy to see. Quiz nights and socials are often held in one of the 3 village halls and the local Ramsbury Flyer mini bus goes on trips and always happy to help for lifts.

How easy is it to commute from here?

Ramsbury is situated ideally for commuters. 15 mins from the M4 junction, trains from Hungerford or Bedwyn are 15 minutes away with direct train taking an hour to Paddington. I often go to Hungerford and Marlborough for shopping and coffee with both accessible in 15 minutes. Oxford is 45 minutes away and an easy drive. Bath is also an hour drive or half an hour on the train from Swindon which is a 20-minute drive to the station with ample parking.

What made you choose this property over others that were available at the time?

My late husband and I fell in love with the property on viewing and spent over 20 years in our dream home.*

KEY FEATURES

Outside

Manor Farm is approached via a formal Beech Hedge lined drive, accessed through wooden electric gates. The mature grounds have been further enhanced by the current owners planting over the past 30 years, with specimen trees, shrub and mixed borders in the immediate vicinity of the house. The paddocks are surrounded by copse and areas of wild flowers to benefit the rich wildlife.

The original farmyard forms a courtyard with plenty of parking. Of particular note is the large brick and clay tile barn, which extends to over 5,000 sq ft – currently used as a studio, workshop and entertaining space. There are also further outbuildings, garages and garden stores
