However, at the same time it’s in relatively close proximity to the school our children attended in Oxford, and it was also really easy for my husband to commute into London – he could hop on a train at Bicester and arrive in Marylebone in under an hour! It’s also just a short drive or brisk walk into the village, and places such as Brackley, Bicester and indeed Oxford allow us to access everything we need on a day-to-day basis. In short, it’s a place where we’ve been able to enjoy the best of both worlds.”

“In terms of the house itself, we were drawn to the wonderful sense of light and space that flows throughout the whole property. The layout in the main living area is very open plan and it provides a fantastic space for both busy family life and entertaining. However, we also have the cinema room, the snug, and a room we currently use as a second office, as well as five well proportioned bedrooms, so there are lots of places you can take yourself off to if you want that bit of separation. All in all, it’s a really well-designed family home.”

It’s all very peaceful and private, and we enjoy lovely views and magnificent sunsets.”

“The most impressive room in the house is the atrium. As you walk in, you step up into this amazing space with big barn windows to the front and back that flood it with natural light. The staircase is right in the middle, and one side is used as a formal dining space and the other is a fantastic party area. It’s a part of the house that definitely has the wow factor.”

“The location of the house is absolutely superb. We have mile upon mile of glorious open countryside right on our doorstep, but it’s not a place where we’ve ever felt isolated. Evenley is a lovely little village with a really nice pub that serves great food; in Brackley there are a number of restaurants as well as a fabulous Waitrose that’s open until late, and Stowe is another place we love to visit. It has a gorgeous National Trust property where dogs are welcome – on the lead – within the gardens and parkland, so that’s a really nice day out.”
