Seller Insight I will never forget the feeling I had when I was first shown the property. Unlike many Cotswolds cottages, the sunlight poured through the large windows and there were so many quirky original features.

I had fallen for it as soon as I saw the light, spacious first floor bedrooms, perfect for my ‘grown-up’ children when they were home from university. I then climbed the gorgeous old spiral staircase to the top floor, which I had no idea even existed! Well, that confirmed my decision; my own space, an oasis of peace, and my first walk-in wardrobe! There’s no turning back now…

I enjoy the house the most when my family and friends fill it and we have many happy memories of endless games in front of the fire, loud music (the walls are 3 ft thick), supper parties around an extendable dining table, long dog walks usually ending up in the Chequers, and with Chipping Norton so close, everything is nearby.

The sitting room is really cosy, with an Inglenook fireplace. A wonderful place to hunker down on dark winter nights. The cosy and private ‘Mousehole’ has proved a godsend for my children and their ‘other halves’, and extra visitors, with its own sitting room and bathroom. It was a perfect workspace for my son during lockdown.

Churchill is perfectly positioned within the golden triangle of the Cotswolds.

A really special village with many friends and activities one can dip into.

The Chequer’s Inn is reputedly one of the best pubs in the area although one is spoilt for choice. With the wonderful village green, with a children’s play area and a cricket square and that final dog walk before bed.

During lockdown, the Churchill community came up trumps and the support both received and given from the friendly villagers excelled. It was a perfect place to spend lock-down, with supportive community spirit, and long walks exploring the countryside. There is much to explore in the Cotswolds, and Chipping Norton is close by, catering for all needs including M&S and Aldi, and occasional treats from Daylesford.

This was my first house purchase and it’s tough to have to sell what has been a dream home for my family. However, that stage of my life with so many friends and wonderful memories of the village, is coming to a close.

On the ground floor, there is a cosy sitting room with kitchenette and space for a small table, as well as a modern shower room. Stairs rise to a fabulous mezzanine level, currently being used as the sleeping area. This wonderful space is quirky and fun and perfect for visiting guests, older children or as a separate work space, although there is a need to be agile and duck as you head upstairs to bed.

LOCATION Churchill is one of Oxfordshire’s most sought-after and beautiful villages, steeped in history, picture perfect and surrounded by countryside, yet just 3 miles from Chipping Norton and 2 miles from Kingham train station, with its direct link to London Paddington.

Churchill is right in the heart of the Cotswolds, the village is charming, beautiful and completely unspoilt with a fantastic local pub and a real sense of community. As well as the Chequers Inn on your doorstep, which does a fantastic Sunday lunch, you are spoilt for choice in the neighbouring villages too with The Wild Rabbit at Kingham, Daylesford Organic, The Kings Head in Bledington, all within about 3 miles.
