Manor Farmhouse is a striking Georgian farmhouse with later additions which stands proudly in approx. 4.5 acres of grounds.
The substantial and separate two-storey annexe would be ideal for extended family or guests. There are a host of charming features to Manor Farmhouse, and scope to modernise and improve, especially as the property is not listed. The wonderful, level grounds are divided into a large lawned garden and a separate paddock, which may be suitable for horses.
Beechingstoke is a charming hamlet in the Pewsey Vale, part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Manor farmhouse is within walking distance of Woodborough Garden Centre with shop and café, the local primary school and The Seven Stars public house.
Later additions have enlarged this Georgian Farmhouse to offer excellent reception spaces with a flexible layout, which could also be remodelled if required. The generous country-style kitchen has been fitted with a large aga and offers great views of the garden. There’s a separate dining room and sitting room, as well as a more formal drawing room at the far end. The study and TV room are in a more modern extension and could be modified to a variety of uses.
What is your favourite room of the house and why?
I love the kitchen, it is light, airy and warm with wonderful views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
Who do you think would be the next ideal owner?
A family who wants to make it their own, they could potentially add a tennis court, swimming pool and still have space left for ponies and a croquet pitch!
What do you love most about the house and why?
The house has a lovely warm atmosphere, there are no real neighbours, and for a thatched property it has high ceilings.
What do you love about the local community?
Whilst the house does not have immediate neighbours it is 20 minutes from Marlborough and only 10 minutes from Pewsey and the train station to London.
How easy is it to commute from here?
It is very easy, with Pewsey station only 10 minutes away, which takes you in to Paddington.
What made you choose this property over others that were available at the time?
The location and the opportunities it offered us.*
