SELLER INSIGHT

Tucked away on a quiet lane in the affluent area of Collingtree Park is this lovely five-bedroom detached bungalow, which boasts pretty gardens both front and back, and glorious views out across the rolling greens of the neighbouring golf club.

“We bought the property back in 2009 and I think we’d both agree that there were a whole range of things that sold it to us,” says the owner. “We liked the attractive appearance and style of the bungalow, the plot, the exclusive nature of the area/road, the garden backing onto the golf course… In fact, there was nothing we didn’t like about it! Another huge plus was the roomy garage, which easily accommodates two cars.”

“The bungalow has a superb layout and offered all the space we’d been looking for, however despite being only twelve or thirteen years old when we bought it, time and fashion had moved on in that period, so it’s fair to say it was all a little dated inside. During our time here we’ve made quite a few improvements to bring it up to date and to ensure everything is in good condition. Among other things, we had a new kitchen installed, updated the bathrooms, the flooring has been upgraded and all of the fitted wardrobes have recently been renewed. We’ve also changed the front door, back door and two sets of double glazed doors to the garden, and the attics have been boarded and shelved for extra st orage.”

“For us, the garden was yet another huge selling point. It’s very sunny and it was designed professionally by the previous owners so it’s absolutely beautiful to look at. There are paths around the lawn, a small Japanese garden area to the side, and there are lots of different places to sit in so we’re able to make the most of the sun throughout the day. There’s also a little babbling brook that runs along the back of the garden and that attracts lots of wildlife including some fish, and the garden as a whole is a real haven for birds.”

“We love the conservatory overlooking the golf course. It’s so peaceful, and being able to sit quietly in there and watch the birds in the garden is delightful.”

“The bungalow is in an area considered to be very desirable and it really has been a very pleasant place to live. It’s also very convenient. We’re not far from the M1, it takes just ten minutes to drive into the centre of Northampton, Rushden Lakes shopping centre is aroud twenty minutes away and and we can be in Milton Keynes in under half an hour. We’re also close to the Virgin gym, the Collingtree Golf Club, which has a lovely restaurant, and The Wooden Walls of Old England pub is just a short walk away along the Black Walk pathway.”

“We’ve had several summer parties in the garden and we tend to have lots of family BBQs – the position of both the conservatory and utility room make it really easy to serve food and drinks.”

What will we miss? Everything,” says the owner, “especially the garden and the lovely views from both the conservatory and the rear windows.”*
