FACILITATING + ELEVATING + EMPOWERING

WA2BA-40 Conference History: Empowering the Beautiful Journey After 40

The We Are All Beautiful After 40 (WA2BA40) conference was conceived by renowned Hair Health Specialist, Sonia Mambru, with a mission to create a transformative platform for women navigating the unique physical, mental, and emotional changes that come with aging. Sonia, an expert in Trichology and hair health, recognized the need for a space where women over 40 could not only learn to enhance their beauty but also access resources to improve their overall wellness—covering aspects like hair, skin, nutrition, and mental health.

Sonia’s vision extended beyond hair health, embracing the complexities of life after 40, including challenges like hair loss due to menopause or medical conditions that affect overall wellness. With a deep commitment to empowering women, she sought to create a forum that would foster support, education, and community engagement. Her inspiration was fueled by a desire to address the barriers and biases women face, as well as to provide strategies that positively impact their personal and professional advancement.

Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day in March, the inaugural WA2BA40 conference brought together a diverse array of experts and thought leaders. Last year’s event, held on March 10, 2024, at the North American University Conference Hall in Fairfax, Virginia, exceeded expectations. It was an enlightening and empowering event, drawing attendees from across the country. Notably, both men and women benefited from the wealth of knowledge shared, engaging in enriching discussions and gaining valuable resources from a variety of sectors.

Due to the overwhelming success and public demand, the WA2BA40 conference returns in 2025, continuing its mission to empower and uplift men and women as they embrace the wisdom, beauty, and strength that comes with age. With life expectancy on the rise globally, the 2025 conference will provide attendees with the tools to not only live longer but to live better, ensuring they have the opportunity to influence and impact the world around them in meaningful ways.

The second annual WA2BA40 conference, scheduled for 2025, promises to be an even more dynamic and interactive experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other like-minded professionals, businesses, and individuals, while gaining knowledge that will enrich their lives. The conference is proudly organized by Sonia Mambrú, a leading aesthetician and stylist in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area (DMV), now endorsed and supported by the prestigious Howard University, Armour J. Blackburn University Center. Address: 2397 6th St NW, Washington, DC, 20059, in collaboration with Frank Mareno, editor and writer for Mighty Magazine Fashion Network. Together, Sonia Mambrú and Mighty Magazine seek to inspire women and men over 40, focusing on the mind, body, and soul. They are committed to helping participants embrace their beauty, sharpen their minds, and develop the skills necessary for socioeconomic success.

Additionally, the conference will offer medical professionals specializing in andropause, midlife crises, and overall health, providing valuable screenings and consultations. With health, vision, and dental services available on-site, participants will be equipped with essential resources to nurture their physical and mental well-being.

The 2025 WA2BA40 conference promises to be an extraordinary event, designed to inspire, cultivate, and empower both men and women. Join us in celebrating the beauty and strength that come with life after 40, as we come together to create lasting change and support the thriving, vibrant community of individuals across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C.

Donna McGinn

*Certified Personal Trainer,

*Licensed Massage *Therapist, *IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, *Certified Sports Nutritionist, *Writer of MM’s health section and Interviewer.

Donna McGinn, 61, went back to school after her divorce and learned the art of massage therapy, covering many different modalities. She graduated with honors in April 2012. During her studies, a friend mentioned wanting to do a bodybuilding competition, sparking her interest in anatomy. After attending a competition, she became fascinated by how the same muscles and bones in each body could develop so differently. Inspired, she decided to give it a try and began training for competitions at age 48 in August 2012. Her coach encouraged her to compete just 7 months later, a much shorter time frame than she anticipated. At 50, she earned her IFBB Pro card and was fortunate enough to compete at the Arnold Classic at 52. During this time, she was featured in the documentary Too Big for the World, which explores female bodybuilding and the challenges women face when building muscle mass.

Since 2013, Donna has been teaching physique competition posing and started personal training in 2015 to assist her coach, who was overwhelmed by the surge of people wanting to compete. He had started a significant trend in Maryland, and as he said, “I was the poster child” of his team, Team Warrior Within. The team grew rapidly with hundreds of clients, and Donna became a key part of this success. Unlike traditional solo bodybuilding, the team fostered group workouts, which boosted morale.

Donna now trains clients at Colosseum Gym in Columbia and Anarchy Gym in Owings Mills, MD. Her work includes personal training for both athletes and non-athletes, helping other trainers improve their skills, and preparing bodybuilders for competition, which involves diet, cardio, workout splits, stage posing, routines, and music editing. She also provides bodywork, particularly for athletes such as bodybuilders, powerlifters, and strongmen. Donna has worked with elite Olympian bodybuilders, NFL players, WWE stars, baseball and hockey players, marathon runners, cyclists, and wrestlers (including MMA, jujitsu, and self-defense). She is committed to helping people reach their fitness goals, including working with clients to overcome injuries.

My Vision

My vision is to empower individuals of all ages to improve their well-being through strength training. Increased muscle mass enhances daily tasks and longevity without the need for a bulky physique. A few hours of resistance training, moderate cardio, and a whole-foods diet can significantly improve mobility, independence, and health. Let’s embrace a balanced approach to nourishing both body and mind.

Each of them has showcased their talent, creativity, and intelligence, leaving a lasting mark on history. Their influence extends beyond fashion, inspiring future generations of women to take action and pursue their dreams.

Publicist Eleanor Lambert was born on August 10, 1903, in the United States. Her work has been featured in prestigious publications such as Vogue, People, Modern Bride, Inside Weddings, and Martha Stewart Weddings. She’s worked on music videos for artists like Chris Stapleton, The Black Keys, Little Big Town, Valley James, Elle King & Miranda Lambert, and Ashley Ray.

Q1: What made you want to work with hair design and make up?

A: When I was in my third year of college at the University of Maryland, I got a job at Bloomingdales, in the makeup department. And it was love at first sight.

I eventually went to my parents and told them I wanted to leave school and pursue a career in makeup.

Mind you, this was before Facebook, Instagram, or social media. There was no YouTube, or any type of behind-the-scenes “getting actors ready “awareness.

But, I knew there was a world beyond the makeup counter. I could do makeup for magazines and movies. Although, I didn’t know how to go about it. But I didn’t care.

The great thing about youth, is you act first and think later. I’m glad I was enthusiastic and didn’t entertain the thought of it not working out . It never crossed my mind.

Q2: How old were you when you started?

A: 18 yrs old

Q3: How did you get into working with actors and singers?

A: I married my college sweetheart, George, who was from Baltimore Maryland, and had a family business in Ellicott City. A sub shop named Dollys. So when we got hitched, we lived in Catonsville so he could be close to the shop. Lucky for me, John Waters, Barry Levinson and David Simon hailed from Silver Spring . And shot their movies there. I struck gold and had no idea how lucky I was.

Q4: What would you say is the hardest part of your job?

A: It’s weird to say but, the actual makeup and hair part is so enjoyable to me, even when I’m not sure how something may turn out. It can be very challenging ( like when an actor is portraying a real character. So we’re matching the hair as much as possible with wigs etc.)

The hardest part may be working with so many different personalities, some genuine and kind, others, not so much. This encompasses the actors, producers, and crew members. I’ve learned over the years how to deal with negativity and bring light to my job. And I have amazing teams I work with and always let my coworkers shine and feel respected.

Q5: What was one of your most exciting moments during your journey?

A: There have been so many amazing moments. I think one was when I was called in last minute to design the hair/look of the show for the HBO 70’s portrayal of the porn industry , The Deuce, which was about to shoot in New York.

James Franco was playing real twin brothers ( who navigate the rise of the sex trade in Times Square). I designed two different wigs that showed their undeniable similarities as twins, but each with distinct individuality. One brother was the kind of guy that never changed his hairstyle since high school…..you know, the kind that carried that little plastic black comb he got senior year in his back pocket. The other, was more modern and moved with the times.

I also created a platinum afro for Maggie Gyllenhal, who played “Candy”, a prostitute. A lot of viewers copied that look , especially the hard front curly afro for Halloween that year. That to me was a huge compliment.

I designed a wig for Method Man reminiscent of the 1970’s character “Priest” in the film Superfly. He loved it and so did I.

Q6: What made you get into being a producer?

A: My kids, Stephen and Alexa are responsible for that.

My son decided to write a film. As a kid, he would always wonder about a scary looking house he’d pass sitting on the bus, looking out the window on his way to school. He created a story about three sisters who lived in that house, with their father. The mother is missing.

After he finished the script, he walked up to the scary house, knocked on the door and when they answered, he asked the nice man with the kind eyes, if he could shoot there. He said yes and we were there for a month. They were the kindest people.

The film stars Rick Kain who is an actor, stuntman and director from Howard County and Judith Hoag, an amazing human and actress who starred in the TV series “Nashville”.

And also was the original April in, The Teenage Mutant Turtle movies!

The film is called Fishbowl, and is on Amazon Prime. It’s a great film and definitely cool to watch for locals, because Howard County is the backdrop of that film.

Janice Kinigopoulos

Today, I’m interviewing Janice Kinigopoulos, a talented professional whose work in hair and makeup has graced music videos, magazines, films, and TV shows. Janice’s Instagram link; @jkinigopoulos

Q7: What part of that job did you do? Did you like it?

A: I designed the makeup and hair and worked on the show every day doing makeup for the cast. My husband and I produced the film from our basement, which became the production office. Making movies is not for the faint of heart and is very expensive to pull off. George was so supportive, raising funds from several of his friends. It was so nice of them to believe and invest in the kids. My dad also helped us immensely. Along with, Stephen’s mentor , George Pelecanos, writer and producer of the award winning, The Wire, amongst many other accolades. He came every day of shooting and his support and input was invaluable.

Q8: Do you have any different goals for your future?

A: I’m writing these answers from my son’s house in Nashville. I flew in to do makeup and hair for a Black Keys music video he and my daughter, Alexa directed.

I love working with them. They’re young and they follow their instincts , which makes for very interesting projects.

We recently shot a Chris Stapleton music video very close to my heart because it was inspired by my dad/their grandfather’s passing. The song is called “Think I’m in Love With You”.

At the time when Stephen and Alexa got the call to submit a treatment for the music video for Chris’ song, their reality was that my Dad/their Pop Pop was in hospice. Stephen had just returned from visiting Pop Pop during his final days, so when it came time to turn in their vision, the kids wrote about what they knew- they wrote a music video inspired by their grandfather, my sweet Dad.

The video stars Andre Royo, (HBO’s The Wire, Power) an amazing actor Stephen and Alexa have known since they were young kids on set. From the moment Andre arrived in Nashville, we were all on a mission-the vibe was electric. The video is really something. Andre killed it. To work together again ( Andre & I did The Wire together ) after 20 yrs was very special.

In the video, Andre plays a patriarch on his death bed surrounded by his loving family. After passing away before the viewers eyes, he levitates, joyfully landing on his feet, dancing right thru his front door, into the streets, strutting behind his hearse, to the cemetery, ending up in heaven…(which, if you guys don’t know it yet) just happens to be a disco. All of this , in a red Nudies western suit (we can all rest easy knowing the afterlife is a pretty nice disco).

Chris Stapleton and his beautiful wife, Morgane were so touched with the final product , they added something at the end. The words “ Dedicated to Pop Pop & Mom Mom” . It was such an incredible gesture and it makes me cry everytime I think of it.

I hope the future holds new adventures with the people I enjoy and love.

Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel was a French fashion designer and businesswoman who dominated Parisian haute couture for nearly six decades. A pioneer for women’s rights and gender equality, Chanel was one of the first female designers to create practical clothing for active women. Her simple, sporty, and casual chic designs, often inspired by menswear, set trends and popularized a new feminine standard of style after World War I.

Regarded as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century by Time magazine, Coco Chanel was not only the founder of the renowned House of Fashion Chanel but also a designer, entrepreneur, and style icon. Today, we pay tribute to the incomparable Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel.

Gabrielle Chanel was born on August 19, 1883, in a general hospital in the town of Saumur, France.

In February 1895, her mother passed away, leaving Gabrielle and her four siblings in the care of their father. Shortly afterward, Gabrielle’s father sent his sons to military school and his daughters to a convent.

During her time at the convent, Gabrielle learned the skills of sewing, hand embroidery, and ironing. Additionally, the convent’s strict discipline and rigorous standards of behavior helped shape Gabrielle’s character, laying the foundation for her future success.

At the age of 18, Gabrielle left the convent and moved in with an aunt. She worked two jobs: one as an assistant in a tailor’s shop and the other as an entertainer at a café-concert, where she performed between acts to entertain the audi-

ence while the main artists changed costumes.

Gabrielle’s introduction to the fashion world came through hat design. Her hat creations quickly gained popularity among the upper class, thanks to her discerning clientele.

In 1913, Gabrielle opened her first boutique in Deauville, France, featuring women’s apparel and millinery. The venture proved highly successful, as Gabrielle pioneered the concept of casual yet luxurious clothing for women of high society.

A few years after opening her first store, Gabrielle was determined to expand her success. She opened a second boutique in a villa facing the casino in Biarritz, located on the Basque coast. The store’s location made it a popular destination among wealthy Spanish clients, further establishing the name Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel in European high society.

Gabrielle later opened her flagship boutique at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris.

In February 1916, Coco Chanel’s first fall collection was unveiled, and her designs were featured in Vogue magazine for the first time. Soon after, her clothes were sold in top department stores across the United States.

In 1921, Coco introduced Chanel No. 5, a perfume that would become a timeless classic. A century later, it’s still considered one of the most influential perfumes of all time.

When World War II began, Gabrielle closed all her stores but kept her boutique at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris open, making it clear that it was not a time for fashion.

After the war, Gabrielle Chanel faced accusations of being a Nazi spy and was put on trial. After a few years of silence, she made her return to fashion with a new collection. Though initially met with skepticism in France, her comeback was well received in the UK and the US, where Vogue praised her as a “revolutionary and rebel in fashion.”

Gabrielle Chanel worked in her Parisian atelier until her death. She passed away on January 10, 1971, at the age of 87, in her suite at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. According to those close to her, Gabrielle had become a solitary figure and died alone. Her funeral was attended by her models, and her coffin was covered with white flowers.

A Timeless Icon

Elevating Ukrainian Designers on a Global Stage

During New York Fashion Week (NYFW), Fashion 4 Ukraine (F4U) is the only recurring runway show dedicated to Ukrainian designers. F4U is a movement, connecting Ukrainian talent with international buyers, media, and industry leaders.

+ OLGA IVANIDI: THE VISION BEHIND F4U

Founded by an esteemed model and entrepreneur Olga Ivanidi, F4U was born from her determination to secure a global platform for Ukrainian fashion. After noticing the absence of Ukrainian designers at NYFW in February 2024, she launched F4U that September with a sold-out show.

“Ukrainian fashion is not just embroidery—it’s modern and of the highest craftsmanship,” says Ivanidi. “Ukrainian designers belong on the world stage.”

+ A STAR-STUDDED SHOWCASE

On February 15, 2025, F4U’s second season, Love and the City, transformed 55 Broadway into a celebration of Ukrainian artistry. Inspired by Valentine’s Day, the event featured popup boutiques and a cocktail hour with live jazz, premium Ukrainian champagne and chocolate covered strawberries

and hundreds of fresh roses, creating a romantic atmosphere.

The runway featured eight standout brands: Mary Witch Corsets, Anna Yudaeva Couture, Ira Lysa, Olya Mak, Goya Concept, Sarasvaty Lingerie, Bellanita Intimate, and Swiss designer Muse&Sensia.

Adding to the glamour, Miss Ukraine Universe 2012, Anastasiia Chernova, and Miss Ukraine World 2024, Anhelina Smith walked the runway.

+ FASHION WITH A PURPOSE

Beyond fashion, F4U supports meaningful causes, with net proceeds benefiting:

- Bird of Light Foundation – Assisting children affected by war.

- New Horizons Hub – Providing IT training and mental health support for Ukrainian soldiers

+ THE FUTURE OF F4U

With Season 3 set for September 2025, Ivanidi plans to expand sponsorships, retail partnerships, and invite more American and European designers to collaborate.

“F4U is where international talent unites to shape the future of Ukrainian fashion.”

New York Fashion Week is one of the most important, full of designers and brands that present their best proposals for the fall-winter season. Let’s see some of the best moments of this fashion week

The best of new york fashion week

The American fashion capital is officially open again for business, with the start of another New York Fashion Week kicking off Feb. 6. Brandon Maxwell started the week with a bang—and Thom Browne is set to close it down on Tuesday, Feb. 11. In between, there are over 50 shows and presentations on the schedule, including some highly anticipated returns. Joseph Altuzarra is back after paternity leave, ready to showcase his fall/winter 2025 collection for his eponymous brand. Norma Kamali is on the schedule for the first time in over a decade. Christopher John Rogers, too, is returning after five years without a show on the NYFW schedule. The designer to watch, though, is undoubtedly Calvin Klein’s new creative director, Veronica Leoni, who is bringing the brand back to the runway after a five-year absence.

An important week with important moments.

• The great return to the catwalks of the Calvin klein.Being one of the flagship brands of the 90’s where models like Kate Moss were their muse and main image. Calvin Klein returned to the catwalks under the creative direction of designer Veronica Leoni, who presented a minimalist and elegant collection.Colors like black, beige and gray were the main palette. With silhouettes that paid tribute to the brand and its creator, its elegant and sober aesthetic, like the 90’s decade.

• The floral garden of carolina herrera When we talk about flowers we think of spring, but for this occasion Wes Gordon, creative director of Carolina Herrera,

presented us with a collection full of flowers that gives a nostalgic air to fall. With a view of the snow-covered Central Park, and a garden of 3,000 ranunculus flowers, we saw a beautiful collection full of femininity, elegance and details such as embroidery, fabrics, diamonds and of course flowers.

• Solid gold by Ulla Johnson Designer Ulla Johnson presented a tribute to her mother who passed away in January. As a coincidence, this collection referenced her mother’s artistic practices. Embroidered with gold threads, hand painted flowers.

Delicate, artistic, modern and full of emotion, this collection has been one of the most important of this New York Fashion Week.

• The dark side of fashion by khaite The New York brand Khaite has been surprising collection after collection for several seasons. For this occasion, their proposal allows us to see the most artistic side of Khaite and its creative director Catherine Holstein. Wide silhouettes, leather, denim, fabric and animal prints, come together in a collection that once presents us with feminine, artistic and modern proposals.

Welcome to the THIVE where motivation, strength & personal transformation collide! I am Tamara Walcott, a passionate motivational speaker & powerlifter, dedicated to empowering individuals like you. Whether you’re on a mission to improve your personal health, or striving for greatness as a professional powerlifter, I am here to guide you every step of the way. I believe in a mind-body connection to achieve personal development, that goes beyond physical strength alone.”

met Tamara years ago when she first started lifting at Colosseum gym in Columbia, MD. I had the pleasure of working on her with my massage. She has since made it into the Genius Book of World Records with record lifts. She has expanded her career to training others, meeting and working with all kinds of famous lifters and being invited on shows like, The Ellen Degeneres show. And now, I have the pleasure to interview her for Mighty Magazine. Its nice to have been able to see her progress through the years.

Q1: What got you started in the gym...and then power lifting, specifically?

A: I wanted to be here to live and play and run for my kids I couldn’t at 415lbs so tried to go back to sports but the schedule didn’t work, and I had no one to watch my kids being newly separated. So, I went to the gym. Saw people lifting extremely heavy and found out it was a sport.

Q2: What hardships did you encounter during your journey?

A: In the beginning friends and family didn’t understand why I was always in the gym. They gave me a lot of “mom guilt”. But then, after time, they came around. They started to see me change. Some of them started working on themselves too. Later on in the journey, when I started lifting heavier, people then started saying, “don’t do that. You’ll break your back” , or would say,” I looked like a man”. I had plenty of hardships. I ended up hiring a coach, even though I couldn’t really afford one. But, I knew I loved it, so I made it work!

I stopped eating out and use that money to pay for a coach every month!

Q3: What has been the most thrilling part in your journey, so far?

A: Oh my gosh, the most thrilling part of my journey definitely has to be what I’ve instilled in my own kids. I was able to show them better, than I could tell them. That anything and everything that they put their minds to,… no matter how long it takes,… how hard it is,… that it’s possible.

Of course being on TV, that too. But, I was able to show my kids at 13, what I learned at 30. That the impossible is possible. And now the world is truly their oyster!

Q4: How are you able to juggle training, coaching and family life all at once?

A: It’s a balancing act, but I get it done. I simply just prioritize week over week, day after day what’s most important. And I aim to get those things done. I don’t sweat the small stuff. And if I don’t get something done this week, I know I’ll get it done next week. For example; I train three days a week. It doesn’t matter what day I go in. As long as I get it done. That’s the most important. I also don’t let more than three days go by doing one thing that gets me one step closer to my goal. So, I’m very intentional! Also, it takes a village. My family really shows up for me when it comes to my kids, so when they are good, good !

Q5: What would you say is a “bare minimum” a person/client should have, to start power lifting, if they wanted to?

A: You have to want it !

Q6: What are your current best lifts?

A: Deadlift 639lbs. But I also have the heaviest emulative weight combined with all three lifts. That’s 1620 pounds!

Q7: What do you do for recovery?

A: Deep tissue massage , Epson salt, baths, and beach vacations!

Q8: What do you do to prepare for a competition, mentally and physically?

A: Oh man, I virtualize. I see the end result that I want, and I focus on executing like it’s another training day.

Q9: How do you handle setbacks in competition or training?

A: I look for the lessons in each one and focus on what I did well. I have also cried like everyone else, and got frustrated with the setback. However, I don’t stay there very long. What’s the point in crying over spilled milk. Just clean it up. Pour yourself a new glass, and keep going!

Q10: Describe a time you had to overcome

a significant obstacle or set back.

A: This past October 2024, right before a major competition. I tore my muscle while benching 397 pounds. I thought I would never bench again. But again, I am relentless. I did everything to get back to where I was. That means I had to do one thing, every single day. Even if it was a small thing, to get back to my goal. I did my PT. I drank my water. I corrected my form. I listen to my doctor. A year later I’m benching 350 lbs after surgery... I’m 35 lbs from my heaviest bench and 41 lbs from the weight that injured me ! Which is crazy, cause I started lifting at 35 and I’m 41 this year !! Must be a good sign !

Q11: How do you maintain motivation in your training?

A: Oh my gosh, I still love POWERLIFTING! I love lifting heavy, but I can’t say that it necessarily motivated me to lift. I think I’m more dedicated towards my goal. Motivation for me died a long time ago. I don’t wake up every day and go to the gym because I’m motivated to put 600 pounds on my back. I get up every day and go to the gym because I’m dedicated towards my goal of squatting 700 pounds. I’m motivated to load 600 pounds by myself on a dead lift platform, dead lift, and then clean it off. I get up every day and go to the gym dedicated because I wanna be the first woman to pull 700 lb POWERLIFTING.! So it’s all about dedication towards my goal for me.

Q12: What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?

A: They are kind of two in the same. I get in my head and visualize so much, I get fixated and sometimes tend to not slow down. But, I also get stuck in my head, cause I’m my own biggest critic. That could be helpful and harmful.

Q13: What goals do you have for the future?

A: Open up my own gym and give free classes to high school, middle school, and elementary students!

“Success in life has often been likened to a journey upward—a climb from the ground floor of aspirations to the very summit of achievement. In this journey, the penthouse stands as a shining metaphor: the highest level, where the view is widest and everything below is proof of how far you’ve come. To “reach the penthouse” is to reach the pinnacle—not only of financial prosperity but of personal growth, education, and a lifestyle crafted by design. It’s about embracing an aspirational mindset that whatever we do, we should aim for the top floor, the best, and the most fulfilling outcome.”

For Edmy Salazar, this philosophy is more than metaphorical; it’s a daily mantra. She affectionately calls her community “Éxitosos”—literally “Successful Ones”—as a reminder that we are all capable of success. “Nos vemos en el penthouse del éxito,” Edmy often says, which translates to “See you at the penthouse of success.” This rallying cry isn’t just about accumulating wealth; it’s about elevating every facet of one’s life. In Edmy’s view, the penthouse represents financial growth, continual education, and an enhanced lifestyle all at once—the full package of success. To join her at that level means committing to climb in knowledge, savvy investing, wellness, and embracing a life of sophistication.

If life is a building, Edmy urges everyone to keep pressing upward: take the stairs or the elevator, but never settle for the mezzanine when the penthouse (el penthouse del éxito) awaits at the top. It’s an empowering vision of success that is both inclusive (everyone can strive for it) and exclusive (only those who persist reach it).

Luxury Brands Rising to New Heights in Real Estate

At the top of a soaring skyscraper sits the penthouse—an exquisite sanctuary in the clouds reserved for those who have truly arrived. In luxury real estate, a penthouse is more than the priciest home; it’s a symbol of reaching the absolute pinnacle of success, both literally and figuratively. To step into a penthouse is to step into a culmination of achievement—where 360° views and lavish design reward the climb to the summit. For the ultra-successful, securing a penthouse residence is like planting a flag at the peak of their life’s accomplishments. Every detail, from the private elevator opening into your foyer to the champagne chilling in your panoramic sky lounge, proclaims, “You’ve made it.”

Yet today, the penthouse experience is evolving into something even more spectacular. A new trend is sweeping the world’s elite addresses—haute couture and highend real estate are merging, creating ultra-luxurious branded residences that blur

“Nos vemos en el penthouse del éxito”—See You at the Penthouse of Success.

the line between home and high art. The penthouse of success now often comes with a designer label on the building itself, and a lifestyle curated by iconic fashion houses. It’s no longer just about owning the top floor—it’s about living in a masterpiece co-created by the same visionaries who dress runways and red carpets.

+ Where Fashion Meets Real Estate

A fashion house reaches for the sky: Dolce & Gabbana’s debut tower, 888 Brickell in Miami, will soar 1,049 feet, fusing Italian style with Miami’s skyline. Fashion brands are increasingly becoming real estate brands. In recent years, top names in fashion and design have begun lending their names and aesthetics to stunning residential homes. What was once the domain of luxury hotel chains has expanded to include design maisons and even luxury automotive marques—all creating living spaces that carry their elite stamp. This convergence of couture and condominium is giving rise to some of the world’s most talked-about addresses, where owning a residence is akin to owning a one-of-a-kind designer piece. Take, for example, Dolce & Gabbana’s foray into real estate. The famed Italian label known for bold prints and glamorous style has announced 888 Brickell in Miami—an 81-story skyscraper that will be the brand’s first U.S. residential tower. Billed as a fashion-forward palace in the sky, even a one-bedroom here starts around $3.5 million, and the project is “set to reinvent not only luxury real estate but also the city’s skyline.” At 1,049 feet tall, the Dolce & Gabbana tower will be the tallest building in Miami, complete with 259 ultra-exclusive residences and an array of couture-inspired amenities. It’s a prime example of how a couture house can imprint its DNA onto architecture—from lobby design dripping in Murano glass to a rooftop “crown” inspired by Milan’s mid-century glamour.

The result is a property that doesn’t just house the elite; it wraps them in a brand-driven experience that’s as theatrical and luxurious as a D&G runway show.Dolce & Gabbana is not alone. Giorgio Armani, a name synonymous with timeless elegance, has extended his design empire to bricks and mortar as well. Armani’s influence grac-

es residential towers across the globe, from Sunny Isles Beach in Miami to New York’s Madison Avenue, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, and even Moscow. Each Armani Casa residence carries the designer’s signature understated luxe—think muted palettes, museum-quality materials, and lobbies that feel like haute couture salons. In Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, the 56-story Residences by Armani Casa tower exemplifies this trend: co-developed with esteemed architects and draped in Armani’s interior design, it offers private ocean-view terraces and bespoke furnishings that echo Armani’s fashion collections. Likewise, in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the Armani Residences combine the world’s tallest building with the meticulous hospitality of the Armani Hotel—a fusion of architecture and brand that redefines opulence. These developments prove that when fashion meets real estate, ordinary addresses transform into cov eted lifestyle destinations.

Even the world of media and haute couture publishing is joining forces with property developers.

The iconic ELLE fashion magazine, for instance, is translating its editorial chic into actual living spaces.

ELLE Residences Miami, the brand’s first-ever resi dential tower, is rising in the trendy Edgewater district as a 25-story ode to Parisian elegance. The tower will feature 180 turnkey residences that embody the ELLE brand’s Parisian roots—essentially bringing the pages of ELLE Decor magazine to life. Residents will find interiors curated by top designers (in collaboration with The One Atelier and fashion-world favorites), blending bold creativity with effortless French sophistication. From herringbone wood floors and tailored upholstery to artful pops of color and Chanel-inspired touches, living here feels like inhabiting a spread from the magazine.

The Ultimate Lifestyle Statement

Inside a branded residence: an ELLE Residences Miami living space, where Parisian chic meets tropical modern—every detail is curated for style and comfort. Step into a branded residence penthouse, and you step into a world where every element has been carefully orchestrated to delight the senses. These homes are the ultimate lifestyle statement, marrying the comforts of a private estate with the services and amenities of a five-star hotel. Unparalleled luxury is the standard: think private spas and hammams within your apartment, Michelin-starred chefs on call for in-residence dining, and rooftop pools that feel like your personal oasis above the city. Every morning, you might sip espresso from Versace china on a balcony designed by Fendi, and every evening, unwind in a marble bath drawn by your on-call butler—this is daily life when your home carries a marquee name.

What truly sets branded penthouses apart is the sense that you’re living inside a work of art. The interior design is often handled by the brand’s own design teams or their hand-picked collaborators, ensuring a level of detail normally reserved for couture ateliers. Rich materials, custom furnishings, and iconic motifs surround you. In a Dolce

& Gabbana residence, expect baroque flourishes, rich brocades, and maybe a leopard-print accent or two, all executed with high Italian craftsmanship. At an Armani/Casa property, you’ll find zen-like minimalist elegance—creamy travertine, soft lighting, and bespoke Armani furniture that whispers sophistication. The ELLE Residences, true to form, blend mid-century modern pieces with contemporary French chic, so your living room feels like a stylish Paris pied-à-terre infused with Miami’s coastal light. It’s not just décor; it’s an immersive lifestyle. Branded residences cultivate a community and ambiance to match the brand persona—whether that’s youthful and fashion-forward or classic and refined.

Owning such a residence is a status symbol on steroids. It tells the world not only have you “made it,” but you’re living beautifully at the top. The address itself becomes part of your identity. Saying you live at 888 Brickell immediately cues others into the level of exclusivity you command (after all, who wouldn’t recognize a Dolce & Gabbana skyscraper?). These branded penthouses are often limited edition by nature, sometimes with only a handful built around the world, making them as rare as a couture gown.

The ELLE Residences project showcases how a lifestyle media brand can extend its trendsetting influence from glossy pages to glossy high-rises, offering buyers a chance to literally live the brand. This wave of branded buildings—from Dolce & Gabbana’s glamorous skyscraper to Armani’s serene sanctuaries and ELLE’s chic tower—is reshaping the luxury real estate landscape. The worlds of high fashion and high finance have found common ground at the pinnacle of urban skylines. For wealthy buyers, it means owning a home curated by their favorite brand; for the brands, it’s the ultimate canvas to express their ethos in three dimensions. And for everyone watching, it’s a fascinating spectacle: haute couture addresses that make as bold a statement as the designer gowns at a Met Gala.

“The fortunate owners gain access to exclusive perks: private brand events, concierge services that can snag that Birkin bag or Ferragamo booking on short notice, and neighbors who might include celebrities, moguls, or royalty. In essence, a branded penthouse isn’t just a home—it’s a club membership to a life of unabashed luxury. It’s the ultimate “trophy asset” for those who want their living space to reflect their personality, taste, and triumphs.”
