FGCU leads the nation in points in the paint at 43 per game, and is 3rd in the country in field goal percentage at 51.4. In ASUN games, the Eagles are out-scoring their opponents in the paint by an average of 44.7 to 25.1 per game. Last Saturday, FGCU dominated the Dolphins in the paint, 58-14. Helping fuel that low-post production for FGCU is a re-emergence of Dunk City as the Eagles are averaging 4.8 dunks per game, surpassing the average of 4 per game thrown down by the original Dunk City Sweet Sixteen team in 2012-13. The Eagles already have 116 dunks this year, the most since that iconic 2012-13 squad slammed 148, and threw down a season-best 12 versus Jacksonville last weekend.

FGCU is 7-3 on the road this year, and a perfect 4-0 in ASUN contests. The Eagles have won six in a row away from home, tied for the 5th-longest streak in the nation (Belmont, 9 straight). FGCU’s most road ASUN wins in a single season is five, set multiple times, and the most road victories overall in a single campaign is eight by the program’s inaugural 2002-03 team.

1) FGCU will be looking for its 5th-straight win overall, which would be the team’s third-different winning streak of five or more games in a single season for the first time. 2) On Monday, Demetris Morant was named ASUN Player of the Week, while Brandon Goodwin was tabbed as the ASUN Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time. 3) FGCU has held consecutive opponents (Jacksonville, season-low 56; North Florida, 59) below 60 points for the first time this season. 4) No current player on FGCU’s current roster has won at Jacksonville. The Eagles have lost all three meetings at JU under head coach Joe Dooley. 5) Marc-Eddy Norelia is 15 points shy of 1,000 for his career. He would become just the 7th player in program history to reach the milestone.
