FGCU claimed the ASUN Championship last March with an 80-78 overtime triumph over Stetson at Alico Arena, thanks in part to a potential game-tying-saving block in the closing seconds from then-redshirt freshman Zach Johnson. This will be the first time FGCU has opened a conference season on the road since 2012-13. The Eagles will have their first three ASUN games away from home for just the second time in program history (2009-10). FGCU is ranked in the top-10 nationally in each of the following statistics:
93%
Field Goal%: 3rd, .522 3-Point% Defense: 6th, .281
Total Assists: 7th, 283 3-Point%: 10th, .410
All of those percentages would be single-season program records, with the total assists just behind the pace of 602 set by the inaugural 200203 team.
