Grocery shopping won’t feel like a chore in this exhibit. Visitors are invited to shop like a farmer, nutritionist, chef and more. Visitors will be challenged to consider the place of grocery stores within the overall food supply chain.

What does a farmer buy at the grocery store? A nutritionist? A chef? It’s probably not what you think! Visitors use touchscreens integrated into grocery carts to interact with a series of media pieces, each one exploring the art of grocery shopping from the perspective of different agricultural professionals, learn some Ag insider secrets to put to use on your next grocery expedition!

Almost all of our food is grown on farms! This grocery checkout exhibit takes a playful look at the farm origin story behind some favorite foods. Visitors scan a food item and explore its story on the monitor— what ingredients went into making it, and where were they grown? Interactive media can also highlight the fascinating technology and sensory science that makes the food so delicious and nutritious!

Food brings us together! Visitors sit down for a virtual meal as they learn about Central Wisconsin farming, culture, and food. Each place setting contains a digital plate that conveys the stories, recipes, people, history, and places that make up a unique Central Wisconsin flavor.
