NMC OBJECTIVES

Creation of global-local platforms where young people, decision makers, social and economic actors, international organizations, knowledge centers and citizens can collaborate to facilitate and increase the youth participation to decisions making processes and to the development of a sustainable future for everyone


YOUNG PEOPLE MUST BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES Young people are the most numerous section of the global population and, for the next three decades, the main stakeholders in a sustainable future. Despite this fact, they are underrepresented when it comes to policies being defined and implemented. Without a strong demand for a sustainable future, contingent interests prevail when decisions are made, and the pace of change is too slow. To change this course, young people must be able to strongly influence decision-making processes. Their voice must be listened to and urgently considered everywhere in the world, where the decisions are made, first of all at local level.


“LOCAL� DECISIONS CHANGE THE WORLD Local government, city inhabitants and socio-economic actors choices are the crossroads of any path towards a balanced and sustainable development of human societies. Schools, transportations, energy, waste, health and social services, land control and utilization, quality of constructions...
