Event: FESTIVAL OF HORWICH 2025
Date Sunday 24 August 2025 (Bank Holiday Weekend)
Event Organisers: Horwich and Blackrod Community Events CIC
Following on from the huge success of the FoH in 2023/2024 which attracted a combined total of over 11,000 people to both events, FoH will build on upon that success making it bigger, better and more inclusive.
To make this event more inclusive this one-day community event will be completely FREE OF CHARGE to all those attending.
What is the Festival of Horwich?
The Festival of Horwich will be our opportunity to help celebrate our towns unique identity and all the wonderful things Horwich has to offer as a closely knit community. Participants will be from diverse local groups, organisations, sports clubs, schools & education, volunteers, events, history, businesses, emergency services, our beautiful West Pennine Moors – when combined these are the very fabric of our community, which we have a duty to help promote and nurture.
This event will be a platform to showcase and promote everything our lovely town has to offer, not just to existing residents but also all our new residents. It will also serve to promote Horwich as a great place to set up new businesses bringing with it economic benefits.
Building a strong sense of pride and community takes time and effort. Residents will be encouraged to take ownership of their community and participate actively in the initiatives we organise along with other groups and organisation. By fostering inclusiveness, celebrating diversity, and providing opportunities for connection and engagement, we can make our community a safer and even better place to live and work.
INTRODUCTION TO HORWICH AND BLACKROD COMMUNITY EVENTS CIC
Horwich and Blackrod Community Events CIC and the organisers of all previous Festival of Horwich events have taken on the responsibility of delivering all future events. We are a not-for-profit, organiser of FREE community events, established to build connections and foster civic pride through lively public event.
Each of our events draws between 4,000 and 8,000 visitors – and that number continues to grow year-on-year. These gatherings bring our communities closer together, attracting not only residents of Horwich and Blackrod, but also visitors from across the wider region.
Most recently, one of our flagship events ‘Horwich ROX’ was hailed as the most successful event Horwich has ever seen, drawing more than 8,000+ visitors from around the region to the town centre. A vibrant music festival was created in the heart of Horwich, transforming it into a buzzing celebration of live entertainment, local talent, family fun, and community spirit.
As a group we have delivered both individually, and collectively very successful free community and charity events over the past 12 years, with the aim of bringing together residents of all ages, socio-encomic backgrounds and cultures, leaving no one unable to participate regardless of their background.
To continue offering free events we rely on a variety of income resources, from sponsorship, donations and advertising revenue.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADVERTISE IN OUR DIGITAL EVENT PROGRAMME?
The Festival of Horwich events team are producing a digital events programme that will outline all the fun and exciting activities being held on the day, including a programme section of all the musical performers we will have on stage.
It will also include a ‘listing section’ promoting Horwich groups, organisations, charities, clubs and stall holders.
Access to the digital program will be via a QR Code which will appear on all of our Printed publications. It will also include a link in all Social Media promotional activity. This will be extensively shared over a 4-5 week period. This will include a leaflet delivered to 9,500 households in Horwich with the QR Code directing them to the digital programme and your Advert.
