Dos amigos llegan a Tucumán, Argentina, atraídos por la historia de la Piedra Ambrosetti. Esta piedra era un monolito anterior a la cultura diaguita, de unos tres metros de altura, que fue removida de su sitio original durante la última dictadura. Este evento, presumen, ha tenido efectos extraños y adversos en el área. En busca de su ubicación original, actúan como detectives, entrevistando a lugareños que les proporcionan una gran cantidad de teorías y pistas. Para avanzar en la investigación, deciden, con el apoyo de la comunidad local, reproducir las piedras en diferentes materiales y caminar cuesta arriba para instalarlas en su supuesta ubicación original. La piedra Ambrosetti es también una investigación inexacta sobre las condiciones en las que circula y se preserva el patrimonio arqueológico y cultural en América Latina. Two friends head to Tucumán, Argentina, fascinated by the story of the Ambrosetti Stone: a monolithic, three-meter-high stone dating back to the Diaguita culture that was removed from its original site during the last dictatorship. They assume that the removal has had a strange, adverse e≠ect on the area. In search of its original location, they play detective, interviewing locals who o≠er up a plethora of di≠erent theories and leads. To continue the investigation they decide, with the support of the local community, to reproduce the stone in di≠erent materials and carry the replacements to what they believe is its original location. La piedra Ambrosetti is also a relaxed investigation into the context in which archeological and cultural heritage circulates in Latin America.
PILAR QUINTEROS Y ALAN SEGAL Quinteros nació en Santiago, Chile. Es artista visual y exhibió sus trabajos en diversas instituciones internacionales. Segal nació en Buenos Aires. Dirigió los cortometrajes Key, Washer, Coin (33° Festival) y Una investigación interrumpida de R. Pilar Quinteros was born in Santiago, Chile. She is a visual artist and has exhibited her work at different international institutions. Alan Segal was born in Buenos Aires.
