A Través De Mis Ojos: Stories of Leadership, Community, and Equity

This session uses storytelling to explore how identity and lived experience shape equitycentered leadership. Participants will hear powerful narratives about visibility, bilingual education, and navigating dual cultural identities, while reflecting on their own journeys. Through interactive activities, they will leave with strategies to advocate for and mentor the next generation of Latinx leaders

Mariachi & Folklorico as Leadership and Cultural Empowerment: A Student-Led Panel

This student-led panel showcases how Mount Vernon High School’s Mariachi and Folklorico program empowers students to embrace their heritage, elevate their voices, and lead with confidence. Participants will hear firsthand stories of how cultural education fosters academic success, representation, and leadership development. The session highlights the transformative impact of culturally relevant programs and offers inspiration for creating sustainable, affirming spaces where students thrive as leaders and cultural ambassadors.

Equidad por Diseño: Co-Creating a Shared Vision and Collaborative Work of Strategic Goals with Meaningful Engagement in Culturally-Rich Communities

This session highlights how an equity by design approach, rooted in intentional partnerships and community voice, shaped the co-creation of a shared vision and strategic goals. Participants will learn how the overrepresentation of historically underserved communities ensured equity was centered throughout the process, leading to human-centered systems that transform family and student experiences. Attendees will walk away with practical insights for embedding meaningful community engagement into their own strategic planning efforts.

Anchored in the Purpose: Leadership Considerations for Supporting Multilingual Learners

This session empowers educational leaders to support multilingual learners by providing an overview of the key systems and structures essential for sustaining biliteracy programs. Using a Comprehensive Program Decision-Making Framework, participants will conduct a guided review of critical program elements including staffing, scheduling, language and content allocation, family engagement, assessment, and instructional supports. Attendees will gain practical strategies to strengthen and align their programs with best practices.

Empowering Newcomers & Multilingual Learners to Lead in Their Schools and Communities

This session showcases how Latinos In Action (LIA) empowers newcomers and multilingual learners to embrace their cultural strengths, excel academically, and lead in their schools and communities. Participants will hear directly from LIA students and educators about the program’s impact on engagement, confidence, and leadership development. Co-presented by Dr. Jose Enriquez and local Washington LIA leaders, the session offers practical strategies for building a youth leadership pipeline rooted in equity and cultural pride.

Culturally Responsive Executive Leadership - A Framework for Lifting Communities

This interactive session introduces a culturally responsive leadership framework that centers power, justice, and storytelling as tools for advancing equity in schools and districts. Leaders will engage with essential questions to reflect on how their systems define and act on equity, while exploring strategies to build community voice, knowledge, and partnerships. Participants will leave with practical insights to strengthen inclusive leadership and shared accountability for student and community success.

Empowering Latine Leaders: Developing Skills for Cultural Competency, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

This session explores the essential role of cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion (CCDEI) in fostering environments where all individuals feel respected and valued. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and reflective activities, participants will gain strategies to address biases, microaggressions, and systemic barriers while deepening their own cultural humility. Leaders will leave with practical tools to build inclusive cultures that empower communities and ensure equity.

Ensuring Equidad by Empowering Líderes to Plan Strategically

This session invites leaders to critically analyze mission and vision statements for alignment with equity goals. Drawing on research from Washington State dual language programs and school improvement plans, participants will reflect on how communities are represented in strategic planning. Attendees will engage in hands-on analysis and leave with insights to strengthen coherence and commitment to equity in their own contexts.

Lideres Equipados y Empoderados: Understanding the Power of Constructs to Build Belonging

This session explores how names, stories, language, and culture can be intentionally leveraged to create connection and belonging. Participants will engage in dialogue and reflection to strengthen their confidence and competence in leading with cultural awareness. Offered bilingually in Spanish and English, the session equips leaders with strategies to build inclusive communities for Latinx youth and families in today’s challenging times.

Viviendo La Promesa: Operationalizing Vision Through Community and Coherence

This session explores how Highline Public Schools is bringing its powerful promise “Every student known by name, strength, and need and graduates prepared for the future they choose” to life. Presenters will share lessons from Secondary Redesign, highlighting how student, family, and educator voices shaped the work and how coherence across the system drives equity-focused change. Participants will reflect on their own contexts and gain strategies to align vision, collaboration, and accountability for transformative outcomes.

PODER – Latinas in Leadership

This session brings together Latina leaders to share their journeys of mentorship, coaching, and intentional support in navigating pathways to executive leadership. Panelists will reflect on the systemic need for co-conspirators, networking, and comunidad to elevate and sustain Latinas in leadership while remaining rooted in culture, language, and identity. Through stories and strategies, this session inspires participants to consider how to build capacity and equity for future leaders in education.
