This editorial is dedicated to life and mothers.

Mima, the mother of our beloved Elsten Torres, has transcended, and in addition to accompanying him in his mourning, we want to honor his life, since he was a very brave woman, doing everything, even the impossible to save his children, give them a better life and move them forward. Thanks to her, Elsten is who he is. Her song Bendita Cuba is a huge tribute to his country, but above all to her wonderful mother, it is a way of paying tribute to her for what she did for him and his brother. And at MFM + we honor her and bless her by sending her a hug to heaven.

Inés Gaviria has surprised us with a song also dedicated to someone very special, her little daughter, and she teaches us how great a mother's love can be. Thank you for your music, which is wonderful.

We honor life and mothers, because they are our roots, they bring us into this world and instill in us all the love in the world with their enormous example of courage, dedication and commitment, which carries with it the most genuine interest in making us happy and fulfilled. .

Inés Gaviria shares the meaning of being a mother in A Primera Vista

The Colombian singer-songwriter Inés Gaviria is premiering with a pop song that is full of pure love, which she dedicates to her little daughter. The song arose in the middle of a song camp for women artists in which Inés participated last December to write the songs for what will be her fourth studio album.

“A Primera Vista” was made by Inés in co-authorship with three talented Colombian artists: Lala More, Laura Pérez and Susana Cala. Everything arose from a long talk about what the arrival of her daughter meant to Inés, and how the singer-songwriter wanted to tell the fact that you never know if you are ready or not to be a mother, about the radical changes that it entails in the routines, in the day to day and how this decision has been worth it.

The production was in charge of Natalia Bautista from Quinta Estudio in Bogotá, it was mixed by the Colombian producer Maria Elisa Ayerbe in Miami and was mastered by Jets Galindo in the city of Los Angeles. The music video for “A Primera Vista” was filmed in Bogotá.

This new song, like her upcoming new studio album, was created, produced, and mastered mostly by women. The main idea of Inés Gaviria with this ambitious and innovative project is to make visible the role of women in the music industry both in Colombia and in Latin America.

Inés Gaviria presents “Amor a Primera Vista”, a song that narrates her experience as a mother

“A Primera Vista" is the most recent musical work by the Colombian singersongwriter Inés Gaviria. This song narrates her new facet of her as her mother, after adopting her 19-monthold little girl.

In conversation with 10AM Hoy por Hoy, the artist expressed that this song recounts the experience of when someone comes into one's life and transforms it: “You don't know if you're ready or not, but it comes and changes your life in any way. It's a bit like that description of all those moments, of the early mornings, of that sudden falling in love that happens when you see your love at first sight”.

Regarding the adoption process with his wife Alba Lucía Pava, the singer assured that they had to go step by step to form this home: “First, socialize our relationship with the family and say that we are going to get married and also, we are going to get into an adoption process.

“Today, despite the fact that there are many people who have other days and other conceptions of what the family should be, spaces have been opened for us because everything is legally possible and we are advancing on that path and being pioneers on the subject. of diversity,” commented Gaviria. The singer-songwriter indicated that this song is the first release of a new album that has a particularity: it is being composed, produced and mastered by women: "It is a beautiful project that I love because in addition to being loaded with good music, it is a project that it also looks for what women are doing in the Colombian music industry and in general in the world”.

Torres shows us his roots in "Bendita Cuba"

Cultural roots are a pillar for musical creation as they lay the foundation for artists' melodies. It is always a pleasure to come across songs that pay tribute to their family origins because it allows us to delve into the artist's creative core.

"Rodolfo was the one who discovered me when I had just arrived from Miami to New York in the 90s. I started my professional career with him, and without his support, I wouldn't have come this far in my musical career. It's beautiful that after so many years, we continue creating together and have become like family."

At the same time, in "Bendita Cuba," Elsten's most important musical influences such as guaguancó, guaracha, and timba can be glimpsed. Elsten Torres is a pioneer of the Latin Alternative Rock movement that emerged in the late 90s in the United States and is one of the leading voices in the bilingual artistic community of South Florida. The most important lesson he has learned throughout his years of career is to be humble, not to believe that he is better or more talented, but simply to showcase what makes him different. Elsten Torres believes that his greatest quality is being able to convey what he feels in his heart and that inspiration doesn't have to be sought far away; it only requires opening one's eyes to discover new songs.

"To work on this song, Strvnge Noise and I focused on giving it identity by relating it to the team's foundations. We also touched on a bit of history and the atmosphere at Estadio Revolución. We wanted it to be a lively urban song, as it reflects the concept of the current team season, while incorporating dembow-related sounds."

On April 21st, the opening game of the Algodoneros' season took place at Estadio Revolución. Prior to the game, there was a performance by the Colombian band Piso 21, and Ryzz Reyes was the opening act. He also presented the official season anthem to the audience, which was warmly received

The Mallorcan singer Mary Paxanga in the dark side.

Mary Paxanga is synonymous with uproar, partying, and boisterous fun. And she proves it with her debut album "Bájame pal malianteo," featuring 9 explicit songs and dark sounds.

Mary Paxanga, whose real name is Natalia Linuesa Urbano, is a singer from Mallorca. Coincidentally, her second surname pays homage to the genre she currently embraces. She has just released her debut album, "Bájame Pal Malianteo," featuring 9 songs with explicit lyrics and dark, villainous, and malevolent sounds. The artist herself defines it as "dirty perreo."

The Mallorcan singer tells us her whole story in this interview:

When, how, and why did you baptize yourself artistically as Mary Paxanga?

Mary Jane was my name on Facebook. I used to smoke a lot of marijuana and didn't want my mother to find me... I changed 'Jane' to 'Paxanga' when I moved to London. At that time, I was 22 years old and loved to party. One morning, while dancing to Reggaeton at home, I heard the word in a song, and I liked it so much that I decided to change it. When I ventured into music, it stuck because I've never been good with nicknames, and I don't like to complicate things.

How many years have you been in the music industry?

It has been around five or six years since I decided to get into music. However, it's been no more than three years since I started taking it seriously. I was quite lazy during the first two years and very unsure about what I wanted to do. I would go to the studio and didn't even know how to sing into the microphone. Now I'm 29. One of your surnames is 'Urbano,' and you also work in the urban genre. What does urban music mean to you?

My second surname is Urbano by coincidence. I make the music that comes naturally to me, in the way that I like, and what I enjoy. I don't like to pigeonhole myself into a specific genre, but I suppose that when it comes to classification, urban music is where it fits..

What place would you like to occupy in the music scene?

I would love to have a worldwide impact and be recognized globally in the music scene soon!

Did you born and do you live in Mallorca??

Yes! I was born and I live in Mallorca, although I have moved around a lot! As a teenager, I didn't like being here at all, so I lived elsewhere. I've always thought that this island limits me, but at the same time, I tell myself that I'm the one to blame, not Mallorca! And I'm still in this struggle... However, I believe that I have more influences from outside than from here.

You have been releasing singles since 2019, how would you describe the evolution of your music?

In 2019, I met my producer Dx (David), who helped me a lot in finding the sound that I truly wanted to have, and I started feeling comfortable with what I was doing, and I shed my shyness! The singles we released are the result of every time I went to his studio and we created something out of nothing. It's the way I enjoy working the most! Now, I'm extremely happy with everything we do.

Your first album is from 2022 'Bájame Pal Malianteo'. Why this title? Does it attract you to the clandestine and illegal?

“Bájame pal Malianteo” is like saying 'Let's go to the dark side,' which even though I am now a being of light, it's where I come from and where I have the most fun. It's not that I like the clandestine or the illegal, it's more about the life I've had to live..

What is the common thread throughout the entire album?

The main components of my first album are dark and wicked sounds, perversion, dirty perreo, and explicit lyrics. I had a blast in the studio creating each of these tracks!

In almost all, or all, of the songs on the album, I share authorship with David Steven Restrepo Ortiz. David is my producer and friend, known artistically as Dx Beats, the toughest producer on the island in the urban genre. How do you divide the composition of the songs?

He produces and I come up with ideas on top. We always start all projects together from scratch so that it has that unique sound that only we create.

This album was released under the label Discos Herméticos. Do you prefer being with a small label? Have you tried shopping it around to any major labels?

About a month or two ago, they contacted me to work together, and I joined them because I believe I need help with distribution and better organization. I really liked them, so I decided to give it a try! I haven't tried any major labels... but hopefully, things go well with them, and it won't be necessary..

From your perspective as an artist, how do you see the music industry in Spain? Well, it's just starting out because I believe that the urban genre still remains mostly local rather than global... But I'm happy to be part of the urban movement in Spain because I think there is still much more to be explored.

What are your plans for touring with your album?

Right now, we are working with the label to plan a tour soon. The idea is to perform in different cities in Spain, and possibly in Latin America, to present my album live.

From Spain, we have Malaspina and Mary Paxanga joining us. They come from very different musical backgrounds and genres. Diversity will be the prevailing theme in our 2023.

Malaspina

Malaspina is an Punk Rock band with influences and hints of Hard Rock. They are an emerging band that directs their music to a much fresher and younger audience than the traditional punk scene, which we know originated in the 70s with bands like Sex Pistols, Ramones, and The Clash. However, the genre has evolved and blended with Pop, resulting in unique sounds like that of Malaspina.

Mary Paxanga, a Spanish artist from Palma de Mallorca, defines her music and sound within the genre of Neo Punk Latino, with hints of Dark Reggaeton. And she has certainly hit the mark, as her proposal is very innovative and not commonly heard in Latin America, where reggaeton is predominantly popular. However, her music has found an audience in Europe and the United States. It's truly a beautiful and refreshing musical proposal.
