DESIGN | ENERGY | FUTURES is a concentrated research + design program at the Syracuse University School of Architecture that leads to a Master of Science (MS) in Architecture. The program focuses on energy and the built environment with research + design projects ranging across many scales, from urban design to high performance buildings, from VR and computational simulation to building material research and product design, and across a range of disciplinary and practice areas.
Design | Energy | Futures: Xiong’an 1.3 is the research and design studio and MS thesis catalog that features the work of M.S. in Architecture students from Fall 2019. The studio worked within the M.S. in Architecture core research agenda—Design | Energy | Futures—on the global issues of “waste” and final project on waste in Xiong’an, a newly planned, non-capital functioned city in China. The book and research are sponsored by the Shenzhen Institute.
