It’s the New year and we are all back on track with our usual lives. Last year was a gift for some people, and to others a nightmare, but each of us was given a gift of the new year, how you enter into this year depends only on your own attitude and thoughts. I would like to share something with all of you. During the Festive season I started read January 2013 Issue 01

ing “ The Secret” and to me being a very spiritual person , this book really taught me so much , I entered the year with more positive thoughts than what I have ever had, the prove of the deliverance in this book’s strategy was to me personally an absolute shock. I tried the book out and tested their theories around the law of attraction and positive thinking, and to my amazement it worked. I applied at the Branson Centre for entrepreneurs , for a mentor and financial help and guidance, since I applied and started to believe that I will receive what I thought and believe in , and to my shock I received the call that I qualified for an interview with them, and that I can go an present the magazine to them. I was absolutely surprised at the quick feedback, and that the theories of the book actually worked. I would recommend this book to anyone that is absolutely desperate to get somewhere, and to get their businesses up and running in this year.

Disrespect.

The Warning Signs Of A Bad Relationship Lack of Trust. Trust requires both partners to believe that the other will still love them, even when they make mistakes. They are able to be truthful about being at fault, and they can be vulnerable in front of each other. If you find yourself lying to cover when you make a mistake, or if you are afraid of your mate seeing you looking less than perfect, you are not being your true, honest self. On a deeper level, lying, hiding the truth and withholding information are signs of a bad relationship. If you worry that your partner may be out with other women when he claims to be out with the guys, then you are lacking the trust a relationship requires. Likewise, your partner might interrogate you every time you go out. When you reach the point that you are accusing each other of hiding something, whether it be about love, money or who forgot to feed the dog, then you need to ask yourself why you really don't trust your partner.

January 2013 Issue 01

Respect means simply treating the other person like he or she is important. We all want to be treated that way. Good communication is an exchange of listening and sharing ideas. When you treat another person as if he is important, you would never hurt him, mistreat him, put him down in public or berate him. Sarcasm, disdain, taking the other person for granted or constantly putting the other person on the defensive all fall in the disrespect category. When your partner isn't supportive, he is revealing his own insecurities-and do you want to be with someone like that?

No Space. In a good relationship, both people have time apart and time together. When you are together too much, you run the risk of feeling smothered. While you may enjoy being with your partner 24/7, time apart gives you something to discuss when you are together again. If you are apart, neither partner should resent the time apart or act jealous about it. Both partners trust that the other will be true, and both are worthy of the trust they have earned. In a bad relationship, one partner is resentful of the other or worries that the other partner will stray if left alone, which leads to that other hallmark of bad relationships, distrust.

Fear of Change. Genuinely liking the other person for who she is means that you will still like her if she changes jobs, hobbies, friends or gets depressed. Genuine caring allows

January 2013 Issue 01

the other person the freedom to grow. It also means that you feel good with that person - you enjoy being with her. Bad relationships depend on the person to stay exactly one way, and change is met with resentment and suspicion, as if one partner changed just to hurt the other person. If your partner's affections depend on your looking the same or liking the same things, you may be in a bad relationship.

Physical or Emotional Abuse. The clearest sign of all, abuse rears its ugly head when the previous four signs of a bad relationship are out of control. When there's no trust, no respect, no space and no room for growth, you are being smothered. Not only that, but you are also boxed in and fearful that, if you do anything that doesn't please your partner, you will be punished. Punishment has no place in a relationship. You must start looking for the exits if your partner hits you or makes you question your self-worth. Even if your partner is wonderful sometimes or apologizes afterwards, that isn't enough to justify the pain you are feeling. Seek outside help from family members, friends or law enforcement if you have any reason to fear for your safety. What If You Don't See These Signs, but Still Feel Bad?

Even if a relationship isn't sour, you might think your relationship lacks spark. Relationships go through phases as people have different experiences in life. Sometimes couples who genuinely love each other aren't clicking for one reason or another. Often that reason is stress from outside factors, or difficulty communicating. If you feel that your relationship at its heart is a good one, consider trying relationship counseling. An outside perspective can help both of you decide if your efforts are for the good of the relationship, or if you are simply wasting your time. You can't change an unhappy relationship into a good one, but you can help a good relationship that's struggling become better if both partners want that and want help getting it back on track.

Does age matter in a relationship? I have had a few friends who recently raised this question and have given it some thought as to what my own opinion is towards age difference in relationships. So if we all were asked one question, “would you be comfortable having a relationship with a significantly older/younger companion?” or “Which do you prefer to have in life? Younger or older than you? “ I’m sure most of us would say age doesn’t matter when love is there. But are these words too good to be true? Historically, women have tended to date men a couple of years older than themselves, but now older dating rules have broken down because we're meeting people in affinity groups rather than age-groups. Dating younger becomes a novel pleasure today, younger women /men are more hot, more exciting because of their freshness and youthful body, others look for older companions, because they want someone to hold them or to manage them well. 42% of men say, older women are more sexually savvy, no hassle and don't have many hang-ups like younger woman and could even teach them something new. The primary challenges in this relationship are the differences in January 2013 Issue 01

opinions, interests, hobbies, and some viewpoint in life, but if you believe you’re fit enough to handle dating younger or older, you won’t mind a few challenges that will undoubtedly cross your path. There are young people who are matured enough and there are definitely older people who are still immature. Being young or old does not determine intelligence or maturity. Maturity comes from experiences and emotional development. In my own opinion, age is not a big factor if you are really in love, and as long as you know how to handle a situation and relationship correctly, maybe age won't be a problem for both. But in then again I do have a little table I work with in my own mind that helps me think about outside influences that might have an issue. And it has served me well thus far so here it is:

Up to a point, age gap can’t be ignored. 1 year: Irrelevant. 2 years: Still irrelevant. 5 years: Noticeable. 10 years: Acceptable. 20 years: Questionable. 30+ years: Arguable. Sometimes it doesn't matter, sometimes intentions are not skewed, but trust and understanding can only be stretched so thin before you have to make assumptions to protect the younger party from possible harm.

How to achieve our New Year’s resolution? With each new year comes a new set of goals. How do we achieve those goals? We don’t. We make plans, set goals and try to do better each new year but fail miserably to achieve them. We go back to our old routines and say to ourselves, “oh, there’s always next year”. What if there is no next year for you? What if there is only this year? That’s why I am going to give you tips on how to achieve your New Year’s resolution in 2013. (These are my own tips I used on myself, so it is my opinion I am giving to you but I found it worked for me.)

Tip 1: Think positive...

to believe yourself that you really mean it and that you are going to do something about it. A friend told me that she read in a book, (this book will be another tip I will tell you about) when you start your day with a negative thought your whole day will start negative. So when you feel like being negative just think of something small that is also positive, like something you can’t wait to do today for exp. a favourite book your dying to read when you’re at home or an event your looking forward to attend this weekend or even an ice cream in your freezer that you can’t wait to eat at home. Small things can make big differences to make you a more positive person.

Tip 2: Read “The Secret” I have not read the book myself but I do have a friend who is reading it and she says it’s the most wonderful book for helping you to achieve your goals, be a better person and feel good about yourself. It is always a good thing to read self help books to give you that boost of energy for a new year and new beginnings. “The secret” you can buy at any bookstore.

Your whole ora should become positive. You can’t be negative and expect to achieve any goals. To start being a positive person you should think positive thoughts, tell yourself that you can and will achieve your goals this year and while you say that to yourself, believe it. Sure, it is easy enough to say those words to yourself but it is another thing

Tip 3: Take time to escape from reality (in a good clean fun kind of way) It is always a good and healthy thing to “escape from reality” for a few hours. I have so many things to help me “escape” and forget about my troubles (and it does not involve drugs or alcohol.) Let me give you a few examples:

 Fantasy books:

reading and those books will make you calm and take away your stress.

 Games: If you have more money to spend or you have a computer, Xbox or Playstation 3, it is a fun and awesome way to take your mind off things. I personally play Xbox and I have a kinect as well, it is fun and very good exercise, so in the process of “escapism” you can also lose weight and be healthy. If you hate exercise, there is a ton of games out there just waiting to be played. Role-playing games is a really good example, you play as someone else and be someone else for a few hours and forget your

worries in the process.

I personally think it is a healthy and positive way to take your mind off things for a while (or it is because I am a bookworm). Everyone can buy books and it is not an expensive way to “lose” yourself into another world. It helps to get a book that is a series of books, if it is really a good book you will want to buy all the books and keep on January 2013 Issue 01

 Drawing: If you are the artistic type or want to try something new and see if you have the talent, go take an art class or buy a sketch pad and drawing pencils (not so expensive). It takes your mind off your worries by concentrating on the sketch you are sketching. Draw something fun and really unique by sketching Japanese Anime, it is not that difficult and just maybe you become really good at it and discover a new talent.

for their honest opinion, if you can handle criticism, or you can tell them it is a personal project and you were not serious about it so you don’t need their opinion. Who knows, just maybe you have the writing talent.

 Watch a movie:

 Write your own book:

We all know movies were brought into this world to entertain us and giving us a chance to “escape reality”. So it’s simple, go to the cinema, rent a DVD or watch a movie on T.V.

Start writing your own fiction novel or a self-help book, you don’t have to go publish it; it is something you do for yourself. It is a very good and calming way to “escape reality”. When you are finish with your own little masterpiece of literature, give it to someone close to you to read, you can ask them

Tip 4: Be confident: We have talked about being positive, Reading books and “escaping reality” but that will be all for naught if we don’t have confidence. To achieve your goal in life you have to have the confidence to reach for your goals or dreams, in other words believing in yourself. How can I take action in my life if I don’t believe I have what it takes to make my dreams come true or achieve my goals? Tell

January 2013 Issue 01

yourself you have the power in you to take action and reach for those goals you have been dying to achieve. If you have a chance to have that goal or dream and you’re too scared to take it, you will lose that chance and might never have another chance again. Those are the main tips I can give you, that worked for me. It made me a happy and fulfilled person, maybe it will work for you too. Remember, to achieve, you have to work hard, be positive, confident and take time for yourself. Writer

ave you ever sat around at home,

and in a boring mode, you start googleing nonsense in your head about yourself. Some Young adults are unemployed and stuck in a motion and drive of negativity. The New Year is upon you, and our Advise would be to start your year out by educating yourself during those times, general knowledge is a treasure no-one can take this from you.We did some research about certain mental disorders in our era, and came across a website that listed the 26 weirdest mental disorders currently listed. A piece of general knowledge, we will all enjoy. Also take not of the documentary published in 2002 about psychiatric science. Research on the documentary has shown that most if not all mental disorders has not ever been scientifically proven, with tests or any other monitoring, its merely and opinion of either a psychologist or physiciatric specialist and then approved by an international panel, when approved such disorder will be listed in a book called DDMA, which goes public every year and includes new

disorders. According to these journalists, it is stated on the documentary that most of the medication subscribed by different individuals, differ dramatically. The reason we mention this , is merely for the fact that it’s important for each individual that’s reading this, to not take it all as a serious matter, and that the disorders displayed does not necessary pertain to you or anyone you know, as these and other disorders has not yet been proven to be real , its merely an opinion.

10. Bibliomania What may be seen as educational collections, could very well be a an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Bibliomania is obsessively collecting books to the point where social and family relationships suffer or are damaged. A sufferer would also purchase multiple copies and editions of the very same book.

9.Munchausen Syndrome Most people would know what this mental disorder is all about: the sufferer feigns, exaggerates, or creates symptoms of illnesses in himself or herself in order to gain attention, sympathy, and comfort from medical personnel. While we all have a tiny spark of “attention whore” in us, patients who suffer from Munchausen sometimes go to dangerous and extreme measures, like this horrifying story about Sarena Sherrard, who “injected fecal matter into her infant daughter to bring attention to herself.”

7.Trichotillomania Is the urge to pull one’s hair out. Be it scalp hair, eyelashes, beard hair, nose hair, pubic hair, eyebrows or other body hair.

6. Exploding head syndrome I imagine this syndrome to not being very pleasant: The person occasionally experience a tremendously loud noise as if from within his or her own head, usually described as an explosion or a roar. I wonder if this would be like migraine.

8. Androphobia – 5. Paedophilia Fear of men Androphobia is an abnormal and persistent fear of men, not to be confused with misandry, which is hate for men. Androphobia sufferers experience anxiety even though they know they know they may face no threat at all. Androphobia is one of infinite possible phobias, and as such can be traced back to a specific triggering event, usually a traumatic experience at an early age.

January 2013 Issue 01

One of the sickest and most disturbing mental disorders: Pedophilia involves sexual activity with a child, generally under age 13. The individual with pedophilia would most commonly be over 16 years of age and be at least five years older than the child. Personally I believe that convicted Pedophiles should not ever be released, I would not take the sometimes very low chance of rehabilitation. However, USA Today reported about a Paedophile who apparently “lost the urge” after having a

brain tumor removed. This sparks the question whether or not an individual with a condition that could have caused them to become a Pedophile could be labeled a Pedophile? It is known that brain tumors can alter personality and behavior.

Micropsia or Who shrunk my car? This may sound familiar to drug users: AIWS or Micropsia is a condition in which a patient’s sense of time, space and body image are distorted. People may appear tiny or patients may feel that part of their body shape or size has been altered. A sufferer may perceive humans, parts of humans, animals, and inanimate objects as substantially smaller than in reality. Normal sized car may look like miniature models and your average size pet dog shrinks to the size of a mouse. Another name for the condition is Lilliput sight or Lilliputian hallucinations.

or

3. Apotemnophilia Is quite disturbing: also known as Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID) or Amputee Identity Disorder is a mental disorder where a person experiences the overwhelming desire to amputate healthy limbs or other parts of their body. In extreme cases sufferers take it upon themselves to amputate their own limbs. BIID also applies to those who wish to alter their bodily integrity in general. Acrotomophilia is the sexual attraction to to other people who are already missing limbs. From Wikipedia:In the BIID community, these

people are referred to as ‘devotees’. However, there does seem to be some relationship between the two disorders, with some individuals exhibiting both conditions.

2. Hybristophilia

in some of Maine’s lumberjacks of French-Canadian origin, the odd reflex has been identified in other parts of the world, too. If you’re interested in mysterious, strange and bizarre disorders and illnesses, I recommend reading Nancy Butcher’s “The Strange Case Of The Walking Corpse”

People with Hybristophilia are sexually aroused or attracted o people who have committed an outrage or crime. Fact: Ian Huntley, the man charged with the Soham murders, gets bundles of fan mail every day. Meanwhile, more than 100 British women are engaged or married to men on death row in the US. The Guardian published an interesting article on this subject Why are women drawn to men behind bars?

1. The Jumping Frenchmen of Maine This condition involves being extremely startled by an unexpected noise or sight. Patients with the disorder flail their arms, cry out and repeat words. First identified January 2013 Issue 01

During the festive season of 2012 we have seen so many Teen deaths during this time, it shocks most of us to the core of our own sensibility . is it even possible for that during a time of giving and love and affection , we see more teen deaths than during a hard laboured year. The average man would suggest that more teens tend to pass on during either during exam times of stressful times during a school year, whether there is pressure with sport , or pressure with exams, art you name it , those would tend to cause some behavioural problems. But to our dismay those should be the least of any family’s worries. The death toll of teenagers is increasing with every passing day. It is alarming to know that reasons behind this are very dangerous and have to be prevented to save our youth. Here I am giving some reasons of teenagers’ death January 2013 Issue 01

Www.facebook.com/FTVOM Or @FTVO_ Mag (Twitter)

23

Feeling The Vibe Online Magazine

that are included in the list of top ten causes of teen deaths.

Suicide It is quite unfortunate to know that suicide is ranked first in the top ten causes of teen deaths. It has been found that rate of committing suicide in boys is higher as compared to that of girls. There may be several reasons behind committing suicide like clash with parents, disappointment in love or failure in doing something that one really wanted to do. It has been seen that depression is also on high with our teens of today , the problems lie with admitting that there is something wrong, which would most likely lead to a some small inch of solution to some deaths. But in our reality of life , being diagnosed with depression seems to encourage abraded behavior within fellow mates or friends, therefore most teens refrain from even bringing up the subject in conversations. This is one of our biggest obstacles to overcome, as us as grownups are well aware that depression is not necessarily an illness , or does not mean that you are crazy or cant cope, its merely a disorder in hormones and chemicals in your brain. In today’s lifestyle more people have depression that your own mind can think off, without even knowing it, they are use to living that way , therefore seeking help seems unnecessary.

January 2013 Issue 01

Homicide Homicide is another big reason of teen deaths. Most common type of homicide is murder. Parents often complain that violent movies and stuff like that stimulate the teens to commit this crime. This though is frankly a minor reason for these episodes to occur. We would like to look past the fact that the world is built around violence, and therefore our schools are flooding with such , it might not be the teachers or the structure of the school , but its within the school’s heart, its students. Most teens develop an obsession to fit in with there class mates or friends, and those friend are somehow most of the times the rudest most delusional students you get, they are the students that would encourage episodes like the above for others to be able to fit in , where if the student does not obey in some way , he/she gets stepped on , or walked over in numerous way’s, and unfortuanitly it ends up in a snow ball effect , where the either of the two reasons mentioned above becomes the only outcome to escape the bullying.

Accidents Accident is found to be the most common reason of teen deaths. Accidents don’t include only roadside accidents. They also include deaths due to drowning in water or suffocation. But majority of the deaths are caused by vehicular accidents.

Due to the volume of pressure each teen has to cope at school to be “cool” as they would phrase it , the intimidation to be seen , as a grownup these students tend to hammer on parents to provide them with their own transport , whether they are fit to drive or not, its occurs mostly with teens who’s parents aren’t really present in their lives or teens who’s parents tend to spoil outside any boundaries. These teens find themselves in situations where they want to show off or impress someone and this always ends up in a disaster full of heartache and pain.

on diagnose and teen , therefore safety precauses is taken very early in most teen’s lives, by their parents to get the child tested or even completely checked out everytime they seem a bit off the mood , these anomalies are very distinctive to notice by any parent who seems to be more involved with their teens than those spending more time with their own troubles than with anything else.

Cancer Cancer is not a commonly known reason of teen deaths because it is rarely found in youngsters. But there are some types of cancers like bone cancer and leukemia are common among teens which causes high mortality rate of youngsters.

Congenital Disorders and Anamolies Actually congenital anamolies is a birth defect which is not appeared in childhood. It is mostly diagnosed in teen age and sometimes its either noticed too late , or there is not any treatment available for such anomaly , this depends January 2013 Issue 01

DJ Mac’E is definitely a people’s person, he made me feel as if I knew him for years, his heart is in the right place, he made the interview so much fun, that I ended up feeling as though I didn’t really work but just spent a good night out with a friend. After the Interview Mac ‘E included the magazine in most of his communication, and he made time to hear how things are going. tasty ‌. The Apple Cider Martini and Martini Glass The ingredients and instructions detailed will demonstrate how to make a martini glass out of a single apple and a cinnamon stick, as well as spiced/spiked apple cider. If you do not want a martini glass, just omit the cinnamon stick and base part. * I personally hate things that are sticky, so to my surprise, this project was not sticky. Hardened sugar does not stick.

Sugar Supplies: Juicer A Pot Wooden Spoon

STEP 2 Make Juice Depending on which juicer you have you will need to cut the apple up so that it can fit in through the juicers input. My juicer had a large opening, so I cut the apples up into fourths, I did not pit them, but you can if you want... again, that depends on the power of your juicer. Put a pot under the juicer, push the apples through and collect the apple juice. Taste it, if it doesn't taste like apple juice, then you should probably check to see if you cut off any of your fingers by accident. A thick foam will appear on top of the

juice, spoon it off so that you are left with just the juice.

STEP 3

Once you carve out a nice cup, put both the bottom, and the top into the freezer. This will harden them for the assembly stage.

Make the Cider Take the fresh apple juice and place it on the stove on medium heat. Throw in all the spices (1 Teaspoon of Allspice, Pumpkin Spice, Cayenne pepper, 3 Cloves, and 4 Cinnamon sticks. Mix in the ingredients and stir every five minutes. Let the juice boil, this will allow for a more concentrated, and sweeter flavor. Let the juice boil for about 40 minutes. Taste the cider and if it needs a little more kick, add some cayenne pepper. Cover the pot and let sit for an hour, or if you want serve it up while its hot. There will be some of the spices left over, so as you pour the cider into a glass, you can use a mesh grate to filter out the cloves, sticks, and spices. You can also add some vodka after the cider is taken off of the flame

STEP 4 Make the Glass Take the large granny smith apple and cut it along the top, at about 2cm from the top of the apple. This will become the base of the glass. Take the bottom half of the apple, and scoop out the innards, be careful not to make any holes. January 2013 Issue 01

STEP 5 Glass Assembly Heat up about 3 cups of sugar, turn it into caramel. Once the sugar turns into caramel, take it on and off of the flame intermittently to avoid burning. Take the apple top and bottom out of the freezer. Place the smaller apple portion on a dish so that the skin of the apple is facing up and so that the flat surface is against the dish. You

Spoon the caramel onto the base, and quickly hold a cinnamon stick in an upright position on the caramel. The caramel should dry in about 20-30 seconds. Once dried, the cinnamon stick

should be essentially glued onto the base of the apple.

The Unknown, but

Once that has dried. Take the larger portion of the apple, turn it so that the scooped out side is against the plate, and pour caramel on the crevice. Quickly take the glass's stem and hold it against the hardening caramel. Make sure it stands up straight. Allow 20-30 Seconds to cool.

Now you will need to coat the inside of the apple in order to prevent leaks, and add flavour. Pour about a half a cup of the caramel into the apple, and quickly whirl the apple as to spread the caramel over the innards of the apple. After that dries, take the apple and dip the top of it in the hot caramel in order to add a sugar rim to the glass. Once assembled set aside and grab the cider.

Get Your Ingredients! For your mojito you will need the following ingredients:

Mint leaves Limes Rum (We use Bacardi in this recipe) Sugar Club Soda Ice'

STEP 6 Presentation I drizzled the remaining caramel onto a plate and sprinkled it with cinnamon. That was kind of unnecessary, but it looks good. Pour the cider into the now assembled glass. Try to avoid pouring the cider everywhere. The glass should hold up for quite some time, as long as you keep liquids away from the crucial joints. Add as much vodka as you would like. This recipe has a lot of kick in it, so a little vodka could only help.

STEP 2 Make the Simple Syrup...its simple really. In order to balance the sourness of the limes in the mojito, we will use a simple syrup which is a fancy way of saying...sugar water. But what makes it even better is that we will be infusing it with mint to add to the flavor of the drink. To make the simple syrup, dissolve sugar in water by heating it up in a saucepan on the stove. Use equal parts sugar and water. In this recipe we will use 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar. (If you wish to makes more mojito's, increase the ratio). Once the sugar has dissolved in the water, take it off the heat and add about 15 mint leaves and let them steep. Let the simple syrup cool. And remember, the longer it steeps, the more flavor your mojito will have.

Note: Keep in mind that each individual mojito usually needs 1-2 limes depending on size. Tip: Roll your limes on the counter before you squeeze them to get the juices flowing!

STEP 4 Prepare Your Glasses! While you're waiting for the simple syrup to steep and cool and your friend is squeezing the limes...get your glasses ready to serve. To do this, place a few mint leaves in the bottom of each glass and muddle muddle muddle.

STEP 3 Squeeze Your Limes For a really good mojito, fresh lime juice is absolutely necessary. Don't try to take the easy road by buying pre-bottled lime juice...squeeze it yourself. Or better yet, it's always fun to get a friend in on the action so have THEM squeeze them for you! Working collaboratively can be great!

If you don't have a muddle, just use a fork to basically press and break up the mint leaves into the bottom of the glass and up the sides. This releases the essence and flavor of the mint leaves. Mmm Mmm..minty freshness. When you're ready to serve, place ice to about half way in each glass.
