Communications The communications team develops content and distributes health messages to the public and media outlets through a wide variety of methods, including print and web advertisements, news interviews and press releases, social media, e-newsletters, videos, community presentations, and other shareable resources for businesses and faithbased organizations.

Public Information Office Public Information Officers (PIOs) interface with local and regional media outlets to provide accurate, timely, and relevant health information to the public. Information is shared through news media, social media, digital and print publications, and EscambiaHealth.com. PIOs also coordinate public health-related communications during disaster response and work closely with partner organizations as well as the Department’s Central Office of Communications in Tallahassee.
