Disney Cruise Line Larry Stauffer ~ Port Adventures Director Larry Stauffer is the Port Adventures Director for Disney Cruise Line. In this role, Stauffer is responsible for the development, operation, and continuing evaluation of Port Adventures for Disney Cruise Line itineraries worldwide. Stauffer is also responsible for the aquatics operation aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet. A 27 year Disney veteran, Stauffer has held various operational management roles at the Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts prior to joining Disney Cruise Line in 1997. Stauffer is a Vice Chairman of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association’s (FCCA) Security Operations Committee. He is also a member of the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL).
Bert Swets ~ Vice President, Marine & Technical Operations Bert Swets is the vice president of marine and technical operations for Disney Cruise Line. He is responsible for the overall safety, security and environmental operations, navigation, itinerary planning, marine, engineering, dry dock, and maintenance aspects of the ships and private island Castaway Cay. Before Swets was named as vice president, he served as the director of purchasing and logistics for Disney Cruise Line. As director, he was responsible for the procurement and transport of all supplies from vendors to the ships and Castaway Cay. Swets also oversaw stevedore services and terminal and pier maintenance. Prior to his stint in purchasing, Swets served as the manager of technical operations at Disney Cruise Line. Here he was responsible for all technical operations, including refurbishment, interior maintenance and planning project work during the dry docks for both Disney ships. Swets joined Disney Cruise Line as part of the new-build team for the Disney Magic construction in 1996. From 1987 to 1996, Swets served as a senior maritime officer for Holland America Line. He received a Walt Disney World Partner in Excellence Award in 2001 and was also the recipient of the 1995 Employee of the Year Award for Holland America Line. Born in 1965 in Maasbracht, the Netherlands, Swets earned his Bachelor Degree in both engineering and navigation. He currently resides in Orlando, Florida.
Jim Urry ~ Vice President, Entertainment and Port Adventures As vice president of entertainment and port adventures for Disney Cruise Line, Jim Urry is responsible for the total onboard entertainment experience and age-specific activities for adults, families and children, and also shore excursions. In addition, he oversees all new design and product development in this realm. Currently Urry serves on the Disney Cruise Line Executive Steering Committee. He also serves as Execution Champion of the Disney Cruise Line Wellness Team. With more than 34 years of cruise entertainment experience, Urry joined Disney Cruise Line in September 1999 to launch the Disney Wonder as cruise director. He has been involved in the conception, creation and implementation of all shipboard entertainment and programming components for Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. Prior to joining Disney Cruise Line, Urry spent fifteen years as a cruise director for Royal Caribbean International (RCI), where he was responsible for the development and implementation of entertainment for the line. He was also part of the start-up team for five RCI ships. In addition, Urry has been a member of the British Equity Actors Association since 1975. 48
