MPHO KOOLESE TECHNICAL EXECUTIVE
Mr. Mabua Lesego Mabua joined BoFiNet in August 2013 as the Chief Executive Officer. He started his career as a graduate engineer at Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), leaving the organisation at senior management level after 12 years of employment. An experienced and knowledgeable ICT professional, Mabua is constantly in touch with developments across the sector and has led several ICT initiatives in Botswana. Some examples include the international connectivity initiative, National core infrastructure, rural connectivity and the e-Government Strategy.
Mr. Keabetswe Segole is the Commercial Executive at BoFiNet responsible for Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Public Relations and Communications.
Mr. Mpho Koolese is the Technical Executive responsible for the strategic leadership of the BoFiNet Technical Division, including Technology Planning, Core, Access and Transport Systems, IP & Data Networks IT and Billing. Mr. Koolese played an instrumental role in instituting the BoFiNet Technical Division during the establishment of BoFiNet in 2013, seconded from BTC. He then became the BoFiNet Chief Engineer for Technology Planning, a role he has held since 2013.
In 2005, he joined the Ministry of Transport and Communications as the Director of Telecommunications and Postal Services. After that, he rose through the ranks of the Ministry, first assuming the role of Deputy Permanent Secretary of ICT before becoming Permanent Secretary. Two years later, he was appointed as National Coordinator of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Mabua is a graduate of the University of Essex (United Kingdom). He is currently a Board Member of West Indian Ocean Cable company (WIOCC) and Imara Holdings Limited.

Mr. Segole has 24 years of experience in the ICT industry, 14 of which were at Executive Levels within various organisations. Before joining BoFiNet, he worked for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (Group General Manager for Technology) and Orange Botswana (Chief Technical Officer). In both organisations, he delivered strategic projects and exemplified leadership qualities. As a result, he was assigned special responsibilities, including Acting Chief Executive Officer for Orange Botswana (January 2006 – April 2006)and Acting Chief Executive Officer for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (February 2010 – July 2011).
His experience in the telecommunication industry spans over 18 years, largely spent planning and delivering complex technology projects, many of which were at the National level. Among his career highlights are the implementation and project lead in the delivery of the following National projects: the deployment of 2,600km of fibre infrastructure across Botswana, which forms the core transport for BoFiNet services.
