CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: City Clerk and Deputy Clerk attended Georgia Clerks Education Institute in Jekyll Island; City Council meeting with special Boy Scouts meeting prior 2/6; Participated in New City Hall furniture meeting 2/7.

Projects: Finalizing shirt/uniform order for staff; prepared proclamation to honor the late Fayette County High School Coach Strickland; scheduled meeting for Bill Stark/Innercomm and the City of Hampton at the Historic Courthouse; finalized planning for City Council retreat in LaGrange February 13-14.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 46 new; 43 closed.

Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the New City Hall building; installing new desktops for Court; Zencity implementation; camera for Police Department clerk; researching software upgrade; endpoint protection upgrade; ClearCompany software.

Meetings: Management Team; ClearCompany; Occupational tax software; Building Department software; United States Department of Homeland Security cybersecurity summit in Atlanta.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Three-day Highway 85 North commercial corridor study with retail consultant Jim Witman; preparations for the upcoming City Council Retreat.

Main Street: Continued preparation of the Amphitheater 2020 Concert Series, including graphic design; attended Livable Centers Initiative seminar for upcoming projects; met with interior design team regarding furniture, fixtures and equipment at the New City Hall; met with Red Clay Festival organizers for May 2 event.

Downtown Development Authority: Continued discussions on downtown real estate options.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY Training: Seven officers completed advanced training.

Criminal Incident: Two subjects wearing hoodies and bandanas smashed the glass beside the main door of COE Firearms and made entry into the building. The subjects were unable to make entry into the room where the firearms were stored before fleeing. Nothing was stolen.

Projects: Started planning for spring Relay for Life event.

Other Incident: There was an accident on Thursday, February 6, involving an overturned trash truck on Highway 54 at the Grady Avenue intersection. The intersection and roadway were blocked for several hours while cleanup took place.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Took delivery of the department’s new Quick Response Vehicle purchased with Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (S.P.L.O.S.T.) funding.

Projects: Chief Alan Jones, Deputy Chief Linda Black, and Division Chief Chris Peacock held a teleconference with Lexipol Project Manager Andrew McGovern; Chief Jones attended the Fayette County Board of Education work session; Chief Jones met with Barrie Dunlap of Clearwater Solutions; Captain Brian Woodworth met with the Fayette County Department of Fire & Emergency Services training division regarding upcoming multi-agency training dates; took delivery of a replacement administrative staff vehicle.

Incident: Fire units at approximately 6:52 p.m. on February 9 responded to a residential fire at 120 Glenleigh Walk. First responders to the two-story residence located an active fire in the kitchen. The crew established a two-in/two-out position and advanced a hose line into the kitchen to contain the fire, while a second crew advanced a second hose line to complete a primary search and check for fire extension to the second floor. The fire was contained to the kitchen area. No injuries were reported. One resident was checked out by paramedics due to possible smoke inhalation.

Severe Weahter Awareness Week and siren testing: A weather siren test was conducted by Fayette County 911 and the Fayette County Emergency Management Agency on February 5. It was discovered during the test that the weather siren located near Lee Street did not operate properly. The malfunction was reported for immediate repair.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; installed street signs at Fayette County High School; repaired sidewalks at St. Andrews Place; removed trash from February 6 overturned truck incident on Highway 54 at Grady Avenue; repaired sink hole on Oak Street; cleaned outlet drain at Legends Drive that had been flooding the roadway.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated is 2.860 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift stations sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 1.374 million gallons of system demand; repaired six water leaks; performed 14 water meter maintenance; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; continuing with roles set-up and goals alignment with job roles.

Turn Over Report: There was one employee hiring and one employee termination during the Week of February 3.
