The Police Department was presented with a re-accreditation award from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) during the August 18 City Council meeting. GACP State Certification Coordinator Chuck Groover presented the award along with Peachtree City Police Chief Janet Moon, who is also the recently-elected GACP President. Fayetteville Police Chief Scott Gray was recently elected to serve as the GACP Fourth Vice President. PIO Ann Marie Burdett was recognized for her role as Accreditation Manager for the 2021 re-accreditation process. Burdett has since been promoted within the City of Fayetteville to the role of Director of Communications and Public Information. Police Officer David Cagle transitioned into the accreditation manager role during the final weeks of the 2021 reaccreditation process.
The City Manager was out of the office for the week. Terry Windley (pictured holding the plate) was congratulated for recently earning his Level 3 Code Enforcement Certification from the State of Georgia.

Meetings: Attended the Fayetteville/Indianola LeaderGov cohort monthly meeting. Attended the regularly-scheduled City Council meeting. Projects: Completed qualifying packets for the upcoming municipal elections. Began preparations for Georgia Cities Week in October. Scheduled the next Shred-It Day for October 9, 9 a.m. to noon. Completed the GovDeals online auction, which runs through September 2. Reported qualified candidates to the Georgia Campaign Finance Commission and to the Fayette County Elections Supervisor. Completed and sent ballot referendum for package sales of distilled spirits to the Fayette County Elections Supervisor.. Open Records Requests: 9
